"High-End Dining at Zurich's Summit Situated at the top of the Uetliberg, Zurich’s highest peak at 2,850 feet above sea level, this white tablecloth restaurant could have coasted on its location—and stellar views—alone. Yet, it offers an ambitious menu prepared with ingredients from its own garden, making it a popular destination restaurant all year long. The best time to visit is in winter when the dining room seems to hover just above the layer of fog that then often blankets the city."

This place is truly wonderful! Where can I begin from!!! Me and my colleagues reserved the place for the company’s Christmas dinner and we could not be more satisfied!!!! The location amazing! You have a 360 view of Zurich city. The venue is beautifully decorated and taken care of. The attention to detail that they have put in is truly making the space feel like home. The food is very tasty and high quality. The portions also are really legit. Last but not least I would like to mention that the service is impeccable. Both waiters that serviced us during that evening were very kind, really fast and ready to fulfill our every wish. The truth is that from day one when I personally sent the email to make the reservation, the personnel was really kind and fast in replying to all our inquiries with professionalism. The only thing that people need to be careful of is the slippery way up in the winter. Especially when it is snowing. But that is all. I really recommend this venue to everybody!!!

The location is stunning, but I strongly recommend visiting for the day rather than staying overnight. ||On our first night we stayed in a double room, which was lovely—far nicer than the “view rooms.” Had we left after that, we would have been satisfied. Unfortunately, our second night was a disaster. We had paid extra for a view room, expecting to wake up to the mountains and lakes. The room itself was less appealing, but we didn’t mind as we were looking forward to the scenery. ||Instead, the evening was filled with constant noise from the restaurant and winter games below. We tried to stay positive, believing the view would make up for it. But at 11:30pm, deafening dance music shook the room. Reception informed us that a function had been booked right next door and would continue until 2am. They admitted they had already moved one family and offered to move us too—meaning we had to pack up and relocate in the middle of the night. By then, we were wide awake and struggled to sleep again. ||The next morning, when we asked to speak to a manager, we were told they didn’t know when one would be available. The only compensation offered was a free breakfast and late check‑out. No refund was given, despite the fact that we lost the view we had paid for and endured a sleepless night. ||The setting itself is incredible, but the hotel’s handling of guests is unacceptable. Save yourself the disappointment: enjoy the area during the day, but avoid staying at the hotel.

Had a great stay with my employer for our summer party. The room was outstanding and the view incredible. Would definitely come back since watching the sun set and rise from the room is so romantic. Thanks for the upgrade and the delicious breakfast! Scrambled eggs were real and delicious! Really enjoyed my stay there.

Heartfelt recommendation A comfortable room, absolutely spectacular views and an experience that starts before you even reach your destination. The road to Uto Kulm is a real adventure – challenging in the best sense of the word and part of the charm of the place. Once you reach the top, you are rewarded with peace, fresh air and breathtaking views (literally and figuratively 😄). It is the kind of place that stays in your soul and that you have to visit at least once in your life. A corner of the world that makes you say: "Yes, this is what made the journey worth it!" ✨

Today we are staying at Hotel UTO KULM Car-Free Hideaway in Zurich. Hotel & Restaurant UTO KULM is the only hotel in Zurich where you can enjoy a full panoramic view of the entire city. In particular, the staff member Luciano was extremely warm and helpful. He not only explained in detail how to reach the hotel, but even drove to the train station himself to help us bring our luggage to the hotel. His service was truly professional, and his friendly smile made us feel as if we had returned to our own home. Thank you, Luciano — each of us felt completely satisfied. We will definitely return to Hotel UTO KULM Car-Free Hideaway in Zurich next time we have the chance.

This hotel was AMAZING. The rooms were very clean and spacious. The view is incredible. Make sure you book the complimentary time in the spa during your stay! The breakfast was delicious and had an assortment of options. One thing to note; transportation to the hotel can be tricky. DO NOT take an uber or taxi. Cars are unable to go past a certain point on the road going up the mountain, and then you have to walk roughly 45 minutes the rest of the way. Be sure to take the bus!

We arrived quite late (19-20 August) in the evening (around 22:00–23:00) after a stressful trip with two bus changes and a 10-minute walk through the forest to reach the hotel. Unfortunately, the welcome at reception made our arrival experience even more disappointing. When we entered, the receptionist was not at the desk and only came out from the back room after our second attempt to get his attention. His first words were, “You are for check-in??” — in a tone that felt annoyed and impatient, rather than welcoming. The combination of his body language, facial expression, and the way he spoke gave us the impression that we were an inconvenience rather than valued guests. After a long and tiring journey, this felt very unprofessional and unpleasant. The situation continued when he asked for my credit card. While I understand that hotels require this for security, the way it was explained — “If you break something, we will charge you” — was blunt and unfriendly. A professional receptionist should be able to explain such policies politely and reassuringly, ideally with a smile. The lack of courtesy and basic hospitality skills here was very disappointing, especially considering the price and reputation of the hotel. On a positive note, the room itself was spacious, with a comfortable bed and pillows, and a nice view over Zurich from the top. The lady at check-out the next morning was polite and professional, which helped improve the overall impression somewhat. In summary, while the room met our expectations, the check-in experience with the night receptionist was extremely unwelcoming and unprofessional. I truly hope the hotel management addresses this issue and provides proper training, as first impressions are crucial — and unfortunately, ours was very negative.

Google
It really was lovely. Very scenic. My only suggestion would be a golf cart to take guests from bus to hotel. That 8 minute walk is quite a walk! After touring all day and getting back late, it can be exhausting.

Yelp
This hotel is beautiful! The staff was wonderful and the beds are comfortable. The rooms are very nice and clean. The only problem is the hotel restaurant is very expensive so we always went into town to eat, and you cannot access the hotel after midnight since that is when the train ends. You must take the train to the hotel then hike up a muddy pebble path for 10-15 min. Over all a great experience with a beautiful view.

Yelp
I have been travelling the world for 18 years and never in my experience have I had such a terrible experience at a hotel. We had been planning this trip for months. We secured a hotel at Hotel Uto Kulm with the expectation that this experience would be once in a lifetime. Let's just say, that was not the case at all. We checked into our hotel and our phone did not work, we notified the front desk and the clerk just said oh, ok. At this point we were under the impression that she was going to notify management of maintenance so we could get it fixed. 3 hours later when we were trying to order room service (we had just travelled 8 hours with a 1 and 5 year old) and there was a huge snow storm, the phone still did not work. We went to the front desk and the front desk clerk said that they would move us rooms, I went back to the room to pack up everything and a clerk from the front desk then came into the room picked up the phone and said "Ma'am, your phone is working fine, you just need to dial 666". I said well Ma'am, we have completely packed up our room it would have been nice if this information was part of your check in process as we have been here for 4 hours with no access to the phone to call the restaurant and front desk and we are in the middle of a snow storm, staying in a building that is not connected to the main building. When I was at the front desk I had ordered some food because we had not eaten all day, the food was incredibly overpriced and for the price not very good at all. CHF 130 for a burger, chicken dish and 2 soda's. They then sent a very nice gentlemen to come help us move, we got into the new room and went to put the milk we had carried up the mountain away, and our FRIDGE was BROKEN!!! We called the front desk and the ONE very kind lady was very apologetic. We left the room for a 20 minute walk and came back and there were ants all over our room. I walked down to the front desk to see if they had any little ant traps or remover and they said "no, we don't have that" The rest of our stay the entire staff was so rude to us and made us feel very uncomfortable. There are no stores or anything so we were hoping to enjoy some of the drinks in the fridge, they were covered in dust and HOT! When we received our confirmation email the clerk sent us a map with directions to the parking garage in downtown Zurich. We drove 6 hours, parked at the garage and then before we got out of the car we called the front desk to confirm that this was the right parking garage and that we were going to get on the train and head up to the hotel. They confirmed it was the right parking garage, we even told then the name and on we went. Little to find out at the end of our stay this was not the right hotel. So when we checked out we showed the front desk and the manager the email traffic and they said that we were to send receipt and the clerk who sent us that email would reimburse us. We sent the receipt and they responded telling us that they would not reimburse us, please be aware this was CHF 85. I have a degree in hotel and restaurant management and I was SO disappointed in the service and experience we had here. The price of the rooms were outrageous and we were okay with that initially because of the location. Once we received the email that they were not going to reimburse us for the parking we asked very kindly for the name and email address for the owner of the hotel. We never received a response. We think it is imperative that they know of our experience so this never has to happen to anyone again. The location and the views were absolutely AMAZING!!!! But the experience was TERRIBLE .

Yelp
This is certainly a beautifull and romantic hotel! On the to do list for the tourist this is one thing. If you have the strenght to walk all the way up and down, then you have to this. For the other people you can also take a train and only to up for the view or sledging. I can tell you one thing: The view is awesome on a sunny day! You can also climb the tower to see more. When you come down you must take some pictures and a bratwurst and offcourse you have to rest before you go down
