This has become a mandatory stop for us every time we pass through Columbus. Having lived in Japan, we love visiting Tensuke to stock up on the specific pantry staples and items we miss the most. It’s easily the most authentic Japanese grocery experience in the region. The market is part of the Japan Marketplace at Kenny Centre, which feels like a genuine community hub. It’s a great spot where you can grab a meal at Akai Hana, pick up pastries at Belle's Bakery, and then walk a few doors down to handle your grocery shopping in one trip. Even if you aren't intimately familiar with Japanese ingredients, it’s an excellent place to discover new things. The store is well-organized and efficient. We usually head straight for the specialty aisles to grab snacks and unique alcohol—their sake selection is particularly impressive and varied. While it can get busy, the shop is a well-oiled machine that makes it easy to get in and out with exactly what you need.

Fantastic! I drive out of my way regardless of where I am working in Columbus to come here for sushi. Their market is loaded with many choices for cooking great meals as well. And their sauce isle has an immense amount of variety.

One of the coolest little markets we’ve been to! We live out of state and make an effort to visit every time we’re in Columbus—it’s just that good. The onigiri selection is seriously impressive. Tons of drinks, snacks and food we can’t get back home!

This is a great place for Japanese groceries, bento, and snacks. Most of the products were either made fresh or imported from Japan. Also, there is an entrance to the neighboring Sushi Ten inside.

been coming here for years. the store itself is a bit small and it can get quite busy and crowded. has lots of freshly made meals and the like when you walk in, plus a small shelf of belle's bakery items. limited fruit and vegetable selection - im always disappointed in that regard. staff are great and checkout lines move fast.

Really like this lovely Japanese market. There are many options of fresh bento, sushi, breads, and sandwiches for lunch. The seafood is always fresh and can be served as sashimi. There are also many Asian snacks and beverages that I like. Some Asian toys and tools are also available. Some good offers are provided. Service is fast and friendly. The place is very organized.

We visited this market yesterday, 3/24/2025. The store is esthetically pleasing to the eye. Grab a shopping cart on the way in if you need it. The store was pretty busy/ crowded. The inside is not insanely huge as markets go but it had alot of items. We came there for the rice balls/triangle which we purchased several kinds at $2.75 a pop. I got the Sweet Soy (shrimp inside) rice ball.....very delicious. I also left with a Sauce on Pork Katsu DON bowl.....and the sauce tastes like a lighter less sweetened BBQ sauce. Large selection of rice wines/alcohol. The only reason for the 3 star rating is because they had virtually NO FRESH fruit. Was looking for a variety of Asian pears and only found a Sumo orange type fruit & another citrus fruit but no type of pears which was really disappointing. But we will return next month to get some more rice balls!
