Google
In terms of coffee flavour , very bland for the Americano coffee. It tasted basically like watered down coffee. In addition , the customer service was poor too, they didn't even realize that we were still waiting for our cold Vietnamese drop coffee, even though we were still standing there. It is wasn't even that busy to have forgotten our order !! We thought it was taking long because the espresso was made fresh, only until we told we were still waiting, did they make our cold drink from an existing carafe of pre -made espresso. Even though we ordered M & L, theyre kind of stingy filling PORTION of the cups. Cannot and would not recommend.

Google
Visited several times for their thai milk tea in the past. Enjoyed a hot condensed milk coffee today. A nice boost of caffeine as expected. Would return to try their Vietnamese egg coffee.

Google
Tried their Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk. The shop was very busy during weekends. It took a while to get it after ordering. I had 50% suger level. The coffee was very strong. It was still bitter with 50% condensed milk. I'm glad that was not too sweet.

Google
This little spot makes some of the best Vietnamese coffee I’ve had. The salted coffee is my go-to. It’s bold, smooth, and just the right mix of sweet and salty. Their chè ba màu is the best. Packed with chewy beans, creamy coconut, and a heap of sweet toppings, it’s rich, refreshing, and full of texture. Every spoonful is layered and satisfying. Whether you’re cooling off in the summer or need a strong caffeine fix, this is the place to be.

My wife tried the iced Vietnamese coffee and I tried the Thai milk tea 🧋. My wife did not enjoy her iced Vietnamese coffee because it tasted watered down and it was packed full of ice … like seriously 😳??? My Thai milk tea tasted like chocolate milk with a caffeine punch 🥊. I definitely 💯 did not enjoy it. Maybe their other drinks are better and I just made a poor choice in my drinks? I really dunno … because there is always a crazy lineup here. But after tasting my drink … I question why there is a lineup? I am one and done ✅ at this place. But I will say for everyone to give it a try and see if you like it and share your thoughts 💭. Happy eats everyone 😎

Google
Got the Durian Lover, which is what I believe to be called che thai (includes jackfruit, water chestnuts, lychee, various types of jellies, and a durian milk(?)). Note that their menu states the small ($7.99) does not include a durian topping but the large ($10.99) does and looks like the menu's picture. The price is pretty high ($12.41 with tax) but I think that's standard for something durian related and it was what I have been looking for since tasting something similar from a Vietnamese festival in the city. My partner who is not a big fan of durian thought it was good out of all the drinks we tried today at the mall

Google
Personally think it’s over hyped, coffee took a while to get and the Vietnamnese coffee taste was not very strong. For the price and wait time I’d recommend going somewhere else.

The Vietnamese Iced Coffee at Coffee Dak Lak in Pacific Mall was awesome! It was a good pick me coffee after a meal :) Would definitely recommend if you craving a good Vietnamese Iced Coffee.

Yelp
Tiny coffee shop located on the 2nd floor of Pmall. It's a few shops in from entrance and in situated in the between a set of clothing stores. Run by viet baristas, their drinks are amazing. While we've only ever gotten their coffee, their dessert style drinks look really great too. This time when we went, we got the egg coffee (cold). Highly recommend! The whipped egg on top is rich and creamy, a perfect compliment to the smooth strong coffee. Everything is made to order so there's always a small wait for your drink but it's worth it. Make sure to check this coffee shop out if you are in need of a caffeine kick. Their regular viet coffee is amazing as well.

Yelp
My favourite coffee place! I always get the strongest caffeine buzz after drinking their Vietnamese coffee. I particular enjoy the natural coffee taste and you can definitely taste it from their coffee. Although it's an extra $1 for requesting no ice, it's still worth it if you want a stronger coffee taste. My go-to is their Cold Condensed Milk Coffee. Service is quite quick whenever I go.

Yelp
Located on the top floor of pacific mall! Been meaning to try this place and finically did! I got the "low caffiene" option, still delicious. It was early enough that I didn't have to wait long but the line up of people were starting to build up. It does get quite busy on a weekend but worth it!!

Yelp
Decided to try this place on a whim as I was visiting the newly opened Tycoon Tofu nearby for a yelp community week event. I had heard that the condensed milk coffee and the egg coffee were their signature drinks and also happen to be the most popular drinks according to the girl who served me. I got myself a cold egg coffee and she told me it would take about 10 mins to make which gave me time to take pics of the menu and the store signage. The coffee tasted excellent. Very creamy, smooth and the coffee was strong with a mellow curl/bitterness. Almost reminded me of tiramisu in drink form. Maybe this is what they were going for? HOWEVER, at ~ $8 (after tax) for what was basically medium, I can't say this drink is worth it. It's a novelty for sure. Something special you get rarely (like once in a while). It's the cost of a large bbt at the Alley (and you get toppings at the Alley LOL). My gf's friend told me the cold coffees used to be like 4.99 pre-inflation. Ironically, I feel like with the amount of ice in the drink, 4.99 is an appropriate current pricing. Quality-wise, 5 stars. Because of the price I have to drop a star. I'll probably be back to try the condense milk coffee (the other signature drink). But after that, it might be awhile before I revisit.

Yelp
Got their salted coffee in large ($7.50) and it was so good. The salted foam mixes perfectly with the coffee and it was delicious. The coffee is strong and the coffee beans are high quality have a great flavor to them. If you're a coffee fan I'd drop by to their out their stuff!

Yelp
This is the best viet coffee spot in Markham that we've found yet. Only tasted their Vietnamese coffee items and not their non-coffee drinks so I can't comment on those. I would say that sometimes drinks can take as long as 15-20 minutes when they are very busy so be prepared to wait on weekends. T

Yelp
So after visiting Vietnam a few times and trying the egg coffee in Hanoi, I can honestly say the egg coffee here is very comparable. When I returned on a weekend around lunch there was a short line. It's a small shop. There is a small counter seating area enough room for 2-3 people. When ordering the egg coffee I was warned it would take 15 minutes to make so do come here to order first before wandering around the many shops and food options. The egg coffee here is simply the best. The egg foam is thick, creamy, and has the perfect sweetness. Tho I find there is way more egg foam to coffee ratio. I've also tried their cococcino which is coconut coffee and it's good, but not as good as the ones in Vietnam. I'll continue to stick with the egg coffee here.

Yelp
I visited Dắk Lắk Vietnamese Coffee with my friends for a strong coffee that would wake me up. You could say that I am a regular since I visit this place whenever I am at the Pacific Mall. Due to the many stores that are next to each other, you might miss it, so you have to look for the wooden signage with the cafe's name, as well as the monitor that advertises their egg coffee. We got the usual large cold Condensed Milk Coffee to go. The payment was a breeze, and we waited at the small waiting area to the right side of the shop. In a few minutes, the staff quickly handed us the coffee. I love how their coffee is consistently very strong, and the condensed milk gives it the creamy sweetness that complements the bitterness well. The overall value was great, and I would recommend this place to anyone who needs a quick pick-me-up.

Yelp
Creamy sweet coffee, perfect to sustain you as you walk through alllll the shops in Pacific Mall. Adorable cat theme, quick service, would go again!

Yelp
Really good Vietnamese coffee but you gotta like it strong otherwise it may be too much for you. I have only had their iced coffee with condensed milk here several times so cannot vouch for the other drinks but if you're a coffee lover and you're in the area, this spot is worth a check out. They are alway busy for a reason.

Yelp
What a hidden gem this place is. Located on second level in pacific mall. I usually get the egg coffee here. It's like a tiramisu with a strong shot of Vietnamese coffee at the bottom after you get through the sweet and creamy texture of the beaten egg and condensed milk. Be patient! This drink does take 10 minutes to make. Such a treat to have after a light meal. The decoration around the coffee shop almost reminds you of food stalls in Vietnam. Service here is friendly. This place offers many other drinks as well.

Yelp
A little Vietnamese coffee/dessert shop located in the Pacific mall. Located on the second floor, by the other food shops. We ordered the iced Vietnamese coffee - loved how strong the coffee was, not too milky or sweet. I saw they also make egg coffee, would be down to try that next time.

Yelp
Once the lone cafe in Pacific Mall serving Vietnamese-style coffee, this spot is still going strong. (I see there's another cafe opened nearby north-side entrance on main floor) Due to the prep time for egg coffee (10min), I always end up getting the iced condensed milk coffee. The rest of the menu remains a mystery to me, but given the top-notch quality and the buzz from the condensed milk coffee, I'm sure everything else is just as fantastic. Their coffee has that robust kick reminiscent of old-school Vietnamese coffee. It's not the modern, subtle taste or aroma that places like Cong Caphe offer. I love how it stays classic in this way. Comparing Cong Caphe and Dak Lak is like comparing night and day. I wouldn't dare judge between them. Dak Lak excels in delivering that bold, traditional punch, while Cong Caphe brings a modern twist with a warm, welcoming vibe. It's like asking whether you prefer mom or dad. Both are great, just in different ways.

Yelp
Dak Lak is located in Heritage Town on the second level in Pacific Mall. It's on the right side of the bridge near the Onigiri place. Get the Egg Coffee! It's super creamy and really tasty. I think it is one of the more unique items on their menu. I have tried a few of the other things but the egg coffee is the one that stands out the most and has been my favourite so far. This is one of the better places to get coffee in the mall so if you like fresh tasty coffee, I think it is worth the short wait!

Yelp
I come here for their Thai iced tea (regular and the green tea one) whenever I visit Pacific Mall. My tea orders are always with less/no sugar and no ice. However, I just noticed that they do charge extra for no ice. I also tried their Vietnamese coffee during this visit. 1) Thai Green Tea I don't see a lot of places offering a green tea version of Thai iced tea (maybe I haven't looked that much) but I find myself enjoying this version than the original red one. The tea itself is flavourful and fragrant and I do love green tea (probably why I like this one more). It has been awhile since I had the regular Thai iced tea though so perhaps I will try it on my next visit. 2) Vietnamese Iced Coffee I'm not much of a coffee drinker but I've been meaning to try this drink for awhile. I enjoyed it very much and it was nice and hot. The condensed milk wasn't too strong and complemented the coffee really well. We had to wait about five minutes for the drink but they make it fresh.

Yelp
There are two Dak Lak locations, one in PMall and the other located on College & Spadina. We were at the PMall location. We ordered the famous Vietnamese egg coffee and Durian Lover, a dessert drink with assortment of mixed jelly. If you order a large Durian Lover, they add a dollop of Durian on top. We were very impressed with the unique egg coffee. It tastes like a less sweet Cadbury cream egg. The bitter coffee at the end perfectly balances the creamy, eggy top. The server took about 10mins or to prepare the egg coffee so it seems like a labour-intensive process. So I say worth the premium price point. She was also kind enough to be invited to sit in her little shop, which could seat two. It's much appreciated given there are hardly any seats available given one side of the food court is closed because of the fire.

Yelp
Ordered a condensed milk ice coffee and a kumquat lime oolong tea. The coffee has a very strong bitter flavour. I don't drink much coffee so don't really have much to say about it beyond that. If you like strong coffee I think you'd like this. For the kumquat tea, it came with a very strong sour flavour, which I like. I re-filled it with cold water and shaked it a bit, and the flavour was still there, so definitely don't toss it out so that you can maximize the amount of drink that you get.

Yelp
Located on second level in Pacific Mall near the food court area, it does tend to get quite busy. Each drink is made to order so there is a slight wait time but nothing too major. Usually we get their iced original condensed milk coffee but this time we tried their mild version (less caffeine). The coffee was still stronger than your usual Timmies but a tad lighter than the original. Flavour was still great and sweetness level is good. Always tempted to try their other drinks each time like the lychee lime oolong teas or Thai milk teas but can never say no to the condensed milk coffeeeeeeeee. Will be back :)

Yelp
Very small cafe, wish it were bigger. But their coffee grounds were fresh. The cafe sua da was perfect for me, didnt taste artificial at all.

Yelp
This Cafe is located inside Pacific mall, on the top floor/ food court inside the "heritage village" on the right hand side. To get here, take the escalator in the middle of the main floor. I had the Vietnamese egg coffee for the first time. For some reason I was told I had to wait 10 minutes for the order... ‍ Here is what to expect: it's $6.99 for a small. There is a thick top layer of a dense, whipped, smooth, creamy foam which tastes like tiramisu. Likely that is your sweetened whipped egg. Below is an espresso tasting coffee which I don't believe had any sugar. If you drink it without the lid, you will be sucking the thick creamy whipped foam most of the time because you can't tip it enough to get the coffee below. If you close the lid, then you will be able to tip it enough to get the coffee into your mouth without the foam pouring all over your face. TIP: I would suggest that you stir or shake the coffee inside the cup in order to mix the foam with the coffee to get that sweetened creamy coffee taste, unless you would like to enjoy the creamy foam separately. Either way it was a fun experience and I would have it again and recommend it to my friends, especially if they like tiramisu!

Yelp
We were walking in Pmall and saw this cute cafe which is located on the second floor. After reading some reviews, we decided to order the Condensed Milk Iced Coffee as it was one of the more popular orders! Another popular drink on the menu is also their Vietnamese Egg Coffee which I will try next time. I was impressed because the coffee flavour was quite strong. I've had many iced coffee before, and the taste is usually diluted, but not theirs. The condense milk helped make it not as "bitter", but not too much that would dominate the drink. If you're a light sleeper, I don't recommend getting this drink so late because i couldn't sleep even after only having 1/3 of the large haha. Follow me on my food adventures on IG: Ayenomz

Yelp
Incredibly friendly and attuned staff. Provided my many great recommendations and helped carefully craft the egg coffee, since it required a huge degree of delicate steps. Although the drink took around 15 minutes to craft, it was definitely worth the wait, besides, you can just walk around the surrounding food court while you wait! The egg coffee is the creamiest coffee I ever had with a hint of sweetness to bring out the flavors of the coffee. Definitely a high quality drink and I can't wait to try their many other selections! Did you know, they also have a green Thai tea *mindblown emoji* :o

Yelp
Stopped by Dak Lak while browsing stores inside Pacific Mall. Their coffee is always so fresh and aromatic! This location is their first storefront location opened since 2016. They carry amazing Vietnamese filter style coffee (cà phê sữa đá) and delicious creamy egg coffee. They say it's like a liquid tiramisu, apopular choice for people like the taste of strong coffee and for people who have travelled to Vietnam. If you haven't tried one yet think of it like a smooth, bittersweet, creamy coffee treat. It slightly resembles the texture inside an Easter chocolate with a Crème egg filling and it mixes nicely with the coffee taste. They also have specialty ice beverages Dak Lak Vietnamese Coffee is named after a province in the Central Vietnam region which is known for coffee growing. They get their coffee shipped from the region. The great part is that you can also buy Dak Lak coffee to take home with you for home brewing. Nothing beats the taste of their freshly brewed coffee!
google avatar

Natalie C.

Yelp
I am not a daily coffee drinker so I appreciate that Dak Lak offers their signature condensed milk coffee at 2 different caffeine intensity. I ordered the mild / low caffeine version with ice and was pleasantly surprised with the bold flavour. Due to the fact that I ordered mild, I was anticipating a more "watered down" / weak flavour. The amount of condensed milk was perfect. It wasn't too sweet (I am the type who order 30% sugar for bubble tea) but was enough to bring out the coffee flavour. I'll definitely come here again whenever I am craving a caffeinated drink!
google avatar

Joy H.

Yelp
One of the many bubble tea spots in Pacific Mall, but I would say some of the best. If you're looking to try a place that isn't your big chain bubble tea shops, this is your spot. They make a lot of Vietnamese styled drinks, which are characteristic of strong flavours and heavy sugar. The wait may be a little longer than usual, since they make their drinks fresh, but you won't be bored with the staff there! They're all very friendly and are delightful to chat with. If you're into strong flavoured drinks with that bittersweet quality, stop by to try some of their signature drinks!
google avatar

Linda L.

Yelp
If you really like strong dark roast coffee and drinks that contain so much caffeine that it's almost like drinking Red Bull then the Vietnamese coffee at Dak Lak may be for you. Their signature Condensed Milk Vietnamese Coffee can be served hot or cold at $3.5 for M and $4.5 for L. If you want no ice however, it's $1 extra since they said they need to put more drink content in there. You could also choose to get the option with less caffeine, which was what I honestly should have gotten. In terms of the taste it was pretty good and definitely had the authentic Vietnamese coffee taste, but I honestly felt that it tasted about the same as the dripped coffee I can get at a Pho restaurant at a cheaper price. The nightmare during my visit began when I felt the after effect of drinking the Original Condensed Milk Coffee. I had totally underestimated how much caffeine there was in that drink, so even though I drank half of the cup at 7pm, I really couldn't fall asleep until like 4:30am and even when I finally did I had extremely poor sleep quality. I admit that was totally my fault for drinking strong coffee at night and couldn't fall asleep due to it. However...while I struggled to fall asleep I also suffered from other discomforts due to drinking the coffee. I guess when I bought my drink at 6:30pm before their 7pm closing time, the girl had served me stale coffee that had been sitting there for the whole day and I ended up getting food poisoning from it. I felt bloated with an upset stomach and I wanted to throw up the whole night. And then the next day I had to go to work with a pounding headache due to how poorly I slept and more stomachaches for the whole day. I definitely wouldn't want to come back and get food poisoned ever again!
google avatar

Emmie C.

Yelp
The ice bean drink was delicious. The girl used measuring Cup to ensure proper amount. I first thought there was no business, but I went ahead to order some Viet iced drinks. Then I saw a bunch of people slowly coming in and placing their orders. I guess this place was good if ppl keep popping up to order and pick up their orders.

Yelp
I was craving a hot milk tea. Being in the Kennedy/Steeles area, what more suitable place is there to go to other than Pacific Mall? I headed straight to the second floor and starting browsing all the drink shops. What caught my eye first was their breakfast menu that was on a stand outside the shop. I instantly made a mental note to come back for brunch since I had such a hard time looking for a brunch place that same morning. Then I saw the owl logo and the Dak Lak Egg Coffee and I remembered seeing this place on Yelp. The two people working (I'm assuming the owners) were very friendly. The shop is small but there are a few seats along the wall if you decide to dine in. There are also seats in the food court just a couple of steps away. The black milk tea only comes in L and XL. I got a large and it was around the $3-4 range. Slightly pricier than regular milk teas, but it's also a larger size. It's freshly made and comes out super hot, which is a MUST for delicious milk tea. It was a little too hot to hold, even with the cardboard sleeve. I would ask for an extra sleeve or an extra cup next time. I do think this was the perfect temperature though. It was a little hot and strong in the beginning, but after letting it sit for couple of minutes, it turns into a delicious and creamy concoction with just the right amount of sweetness. Of course, I also have to mention the cute little owl logo on the cardboard cup that was hidden behind the sleeve! Finding this was such a cute little surprise (yes, I'm easily amused). They have lots of variety on the menu and there's many things I'd love to come back and try such as the Earl Grey Milk Tea, Dak Lak Egg Coffee, Vietnamese Coffee and Thai Iced Tea. I also just read a previous review that they offer stamp cards. I wasn't given one so I'm not sure if this is something that's still offered or maybe you have to ask for it. I'll make a note to myself to ask next time!

Yelp
We were in the infamous P Mall the other day where parking is always a disaster on weekends and decided to give this highly rated Vietnamese coffee place a try located on the 3rd floor of the mall. I got the #1 order which was the traditional Vietnamese coffee on ice (ca phe sua da). Long story short, the coffee tasted very watered down and it didn't have that typical bold/strong coffee flavor you would expect in a Vietnamese coffee. It tasted as if it was left out for a while and the ice had melted within the coffee but the lady made it on the spot. Very disappointing.
google avatar

Candy K.

Yelp
Tried the Thai Green Tea and it was absolutely delicious. It has the balance of the Thai coffee and green tea taste. The sweetness is just right. It's really a breadth of fresh air having this store at this location. It provides great tea/coffee choices at a place otherwise dominated by the usual bubble tea. The 3 stars came from the service. There are two people working there and the person who took our order was not particularly friendly. Also, it took a long time to get our order. They were chatting with each other while making the coffee and there was no sense of urgency. Also, they have a loyalty program. It's the old fashion stamp your card way. You would hope that they have it digitally on an app. The rewards seems to be only available at this location and not the one in downtown. The rewards are okay - 4 stamps for a regular coffee (and spend $5 for one stamp). Hope they move to using an app soon.

Yelp
Place looks very unique and I'm interested in trying their other drinks. I got their Vietnamese coffee and they were a little more bitter than other Vietnamese coffees from others. I think I'll have to give their other drinks a try before giving them a better recommendation.
google avatar

Jenn L.

Yelp
The viet coffee here is legittttt. Been here twice now and we were thoroughly impressed with the quality of our drinks! We've tried the egg drop coffee, the condensed milk viet coffee and the jasmine lemon tea. I cannot recommend the egg drop coffee enough. It is truly a unique taste and experience. You wouldn't think egg and coffee go well together but they do! The creaminess of the egg blends so well with the bitterness of the coffee - making for the perfect texture and sweetness. With the condensed milk coffee, I got it iced with 25% sweetness and less ice. It's a super bold and smooth taste which is just the way I like it. I do recommend asking for less condensed milk in the coffee as it can be quite sweet at the normal levels they usually make it at. Lastly, the iced jasmine lemon tea is sooo refreshing. Tasted like a lemonade with floral hints. Bf got it with 50% sweetness and it was perfect. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Must Try: Condense Milk Coffee (Viet Coffee), Egg Coffee, Cococcino Rating: (10/10) Drinks, (10/10) Service, (8/10) Value, (8/10) Ambience, (9/10) Presentation, (10/10) Cleanliness A fantastic coffee shop that specializes in Vietnamese coffee, more people should order here. Located on the second floor of Pacific Mall, they are on various delivery apps as well (so available during any lockdowns). Their coffee is strong and has great flavour. My personal fav is their Cococcino and their Egg Coffee, but the safe bet is the Condense Milk Coffee. They offer a bunch of non-coffee based drinks as well! Support local, shop small and grab some bomb coffee here!

Yelp
Got the large Vietnamese iced coffee for $4.50. Pretty standard prices in comparison to Vietnamese restaurants. There were only 2 people working at the store. It took maybe 5 mins for us to get our drinks and there were 4 people ahead of us. The coffee was not too strong which was good for me since I don't like bitter coffees. It had just the right amount of sweetness for my taste. But if you wanted it to be sweeter, you can add it in yourself. Overall the drink was okay. Nothing special. Tastes like the drip coffees from most Vietnamese restaurants. They also have a stamp card. However, in order to get a stamp you must spend $5 or more. I find that odd, considering that the ice coffee is one of their staple items and it only comes in medium or large and the large is $4.50. So you can't even get a stamp for it. And on the card it does not even state what you earn. Just that you can redeem for gifts and to see more details on the website. I went in the website and no information is provided. PLEASE DON'T OFFER A REWARDS PROGRAM IF YOU'RE GOING TO MAKE IT SO DIFFICULT TO EARN SOMETHING. Does not make the business look good! Also, it wasn't even that busy and the person making our drink had to ask us what sized we ordered. Very unprofessional. The store itself is tiny. There is a bar table that can sit 2 people.
google avatar

Yelp
The 4 stars is for their Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk. Love the taste of it - it's super strong and their 20% sweetness is perfect. I would say be careful drinking it too much (especially if you get it iced) as you can get pretty wired pretty quickly. Delicious though! We had a hard time finding the stall in Pacific Mall - it's located upstairs on the right hand side near the first bubble waffle stall. Will definitely stop by whenever we're in the area and need a good caffeine fix.

Yelp
Back in my old favourite mall again (8 years later), decided to try every coffee drink in the mall (don't try this at home). This was our second coffee stop, definitely a good one too. We got a Coffee Frappe and an Iced Coffee. They've very clearly nailed down the Vietnamese coffee flavour, as someone who's had many, many Vietnamese coffees, I'd give this place a 4.5. It's roasty and dark, but sweet and rich. The flavour did differ between the Frappe and the Iced Coffee. The Frappe was more like a Starbucks Frappucino and was richer (and better) in flavour. The Iced Coffee was just a bit lacking, more like latte. What I disliked a lot was the whipped cream, it was like real cream with some weird additive. It tasted like melons and xanthan gum (a binder used in food and when overused, it's not good). All and all I'd come back, well, if I hadn't had enough coffee for year.
google avatar

Wilsa L.

Yelp
I came here on a Sunday after with my friends. I walked up to the cashier. He was very helpful at helping me pick my drink as I was being very indecisive. I finally decided on their condense milk iced mild coffee. I didn't want something too strong as it was already 4pm and I was afraid not being able to sleep at night. After I ordered we waited for 5 minutes till I got my drink. There was only one girl at the back making drinks. The coffee was pretty good for the price and it was also very strong even though I ordered the mild I felt my heart racing after the drink.

Yelp
I love vietnamese coffee enough to divert from my original plan of getting bubble tea. mean it wasn't the best vietnamese coffee I have ever had, but it was very good. The ambiance was fine. I didn't have a lot of complaints, it was pretty decent cà phê đá. The servers were weird, but no weirder than anyone else at the mall.
google avatar

Stephanie N.

Yelp
This is a bold statement, but this might be the best viet coffee I've had! I am very particular, as most places are way too sweet. Here, you may order your level of sugar like a bubble tea shop. This review is solely for the coffee only - as it alone deserves recognition. There are many other items on the menu as well I'd love to try next time! They have some vietnamese snacks as well.

Yelp
Hidden upstairs in The Mall at Langham Square is Vietnamese Coffee. Here you can have a taste of the freshly grounded and brewed coffee from Beans Imported from Vietnam. Brewed when ordered but the service is super fast. Iced Black Coffee ($2.50) and Iced Coffee with Condensed Milk ($2.99) are Super Strong! Usually I have my coffee black but it is so tasty with just a touch of condensed milk. The stall is really small but worth your while just to come by and have a good cup of coffee! They also have whole beans for sale by bulk or in prepackaged bags.

Yelp
The condensed milk coffee is phenomenal. The coffee flavour is intense and will keep you awake. Regular sugar level works well with the strong flavour. Also tried the thai iced tea today. It was just okay, not something I'd order again. I'd prefer getting an HK milk tea elsewhere.

Yelp
The main reason I went to this normally chaotic plaza full of crazy drivers. Jennifer K posted a photo of their coffee with the words "SUPER STRONG" and I told myself I gotta try this place out. The hours of operation are pretty limited closing at 5:30pm on weekdays and 6pm on weekends, the only time I can come here would be a weekend trudging through the crazy drivers in the plaza. Was it worth it? HELL YAH. I got their Iced coffee with condensed milk with reduced sweetness. They took their time to prepare it and it tasted creamier compared to the normal Pho places. I think they used a different brand of condensed milk, I didn't see Carnation there. The scent of the coffee is enough to open up your eyes before you even drink it. The drink was cool to the body and you can feel any sleepiness go away along with having a slight sugar rush. The drink isn't overpowering with a single flavor. There's just the right amount of bitterness counteracting with the sweetness from the condensed milk that the feel of the drink flip flops in your mouth while providing a creamy base. The chilled nature of the drink makes it go down smoothly... too smoothly in fact. One mistake I did was to drink it too quickly. Since it's just one shot of espresso I was left with more than 80% of the ice in the end. I wonder if they can do a double espresso and have a larger cup. The other thing we ordered out of curiosity is the Edible Planting. When you look at it, it looks like a pot of soil with a plastic plant. It's basically layers of Oreo, Coffee, Corn flakes, Condensed Milk and Ice Cream. We got a small one which came in a cute plastic pot (which we are using for some real plants at home). They give you a trowel shaped spoon and digging through the layers you don't get overloaded by any flavor. It's a nice mix of bitter and sweet like the coffee with a hint of saltiness from the corn flakes. It was a fun snack that I only got to try a few bites of as the rest was eaten by she-who-must-be-obeyed. The assembly line is not too efficient though, but they take good care of the drink. Since it was so good for me, I decided not to drop a star and they provided free wifi while we waited. I would definitely come here again if I am masochistic enough to deal with the drive and parking in this crazy plaza.

Yelp
[LOCATION] - 3/5 This place is located in Heritage Town, 2nd floor of Pacific Mall on Kennedy Rd. and Steeles Ave. E. Parking lot can be quite hectic on weekends, so prepare to walk from your car to this place. [SERVICE] - 4/5 Staff were friendly and efficient. The baristas usually take a few minutes to make the drink, especially if there is a long queue. [DÉCOR] - 4/5 Décor was quite unique with a cute owl mascot, and it is also one of the only stands that specializes in Vietnamese coffee stands at Pacific Mall. [QUALITY] - 4/5 High-quality, aromatic and smooth coffee. Egg-foam was rich with the perfect amount of sweetness. [ORDER] - 4/5 - Dak Lak Egg Coffee - $4.99: black coffee with condensed milk, topped with an egg yolk and sugar foam. This drink had the perfect amount of bitter and sweet tones. Definitely worth a try, but the portion was a little too small for the price. [OVERALL] - 4/5 A unique coffee that tasted like a tiramisu (as advertised) mixed with a light and whipped egg. I would recommend the Dak Lak Egg Coffee for a treat, but I personally would not order this on a regular basis because the size of the drink is not worth the price.

Yelp
I stumbled upon this lovely little coffee joint while walking around Pmall and instantly fell in love with the interior décor. Unfortunately I couldn't buy a drink that day because I was already holding a large drink in hand! But I grabbed a brochure to study their drink options to be sure to return in the near future! Today I was so excited to revisit this store. Even with the self-hype, I managed to be satisfied. I ordered 1) HK style milk tea (cold) and 2) Vietnamese condensed milk iced coffee. I don't have much experience with Viet condensed milk coffee, more so with HK milk tea (almost daily). I can tell you that the coffee is balanced and no doubt the caffeine is strong. The HK milk tea, although lighter, still had a hint of their coffee (so more like a ying yang?); or it remind me of grass jelly syrup. Their strong coffee aroma stays and doesn't get diluted with the ice. After learning they were once in the new Langham Plaza up the street, I commend them for opening their new shop location here in the competitive Pmall. With all the bbt competition nearby, they've got guts! But you know, it's bc they know they're good!! All in all, service was fast & friendly. I'm SO definitely coming back to try all their other attractive drinks, including their coffee pudding (:O) and their take-home bottles coffee. Thirsty? Well, their drinks are definitely for sipping, not gulping! Drink responsibly!

Yelp
Simple, strong viet coffee. You'll def be awake after drinking this! It's quite reasonably priced - like the same as Starbucks. Service here is really good! The girl at the front was helpful and friendly. She advised that getting less sweet might be a bit too bitter so I opted for 50% instead. It was a good choice! They also have a stamp card for each time you make a purchase. Also, they sell viet coffee equipment and ingredients in case you want to DIY at home!

Yelp
My first time drinking the traditional Vietnamese egg coffee. Didn't know what to expect but it was splendid! The girl who made my drink was very friendly and kind. If I ever go to Pacific Mall for a coffee, would definitely come here as my go-to place.

Yelp
Had the original Vietnamese coffee and a mint milk tea. The place is a little booth with a couple seats so expect to do takeout. The coffee was worth trying. The milk tea was ok... we didn't finish it. I'd come back to try the different coffee items they have.

Yelp
Tiny coffee shop located in the southwest side of the second floor of Pacific Mall, this place offers viet-style coffees, teas, and bubble teas. It only has room for 2 people at a raised wooden bar and another standalone chair for people to sit and wait for their orders. Almost everything cost only $4-$6 here and all of their drinks are of reasonable size. I love their owl branding, which on their feature poster and points card, is an owl formed with two mugs of coffee as eyes and coffee beans for the body. So cute! We asked the barista what Dak Lak meant and apparently it is a city in Vietnam that is famous for their coffees! She worked all by herself and she made everything pretty fast. She was quite friendly, too, since she took the time and effort to recommend and explain items on the menu that my friends and I could order according to what we were looking for. I got myself a peach tea and it had 3 big slices of peach in it. Very flavourful and only for $4! A friend got a virgin mint and green apple mojito, while my other friend got coffee with chocolate and pressed milk on top. It was our first time tasting any Vietnamese drinks or dessert, so this left us all a lovely impression. They accept both cash and debit and you earn a stamp for every $5 you spend in a single visit. You get a free item (of $5 value) after collecting 10 stamps. Not bad! Will definitely come back, since they have a variety of drink options that I can get here.

Yelp
Holy...some powerful stuff! And I like it! Dak Lak has to be my favorite ca phe sua da place ever. I really do love Vietnamese coffee in general because it not only always wakes me up, but I just love the combination of coffee with condensed milk. Dak Lak is a small stand/booth in Pacific Mall's food court area and they sell coffee filters, some beans, hot/cold ca phe, and some dessert drinks. You have the option of getting a ca phe drink with less ice so you can have wayyy more coffee content, or you can get regular ice which would technically mean less coffee and faster to dilute (at least that's my logic) I got the ca phe sua da with less ice, and man oh man was I wired for hours upon hours. Now that's a good coffee! I of course crashed later on, but totally worth it. I do wish sometimes there was a whole coffee shop dedicated to making Viet coffee where I can just grab and sit somewhere, but I don't believe there is any in this city. I would say if you are in the P mall area and are in dire need of a caffeine fix, but want something different, Dak Lak is your guy. Highly recommend. Oh and try not to drink it too late in the evening...you may not sleep ever, or at least for awhile.
