Casa São Miguel - Doçaria Regional Portuguesa - Casa de Pastéis de Nata

I love this quaint little hidden gem. Pastries and egg tarts were divine. They make really good coffees. People there friendly and warm. Come here for true Portuguese hospitality and bakes.

Casa São Miguel – Doçaria Regional Portuguesa is, for me, the second-best place to enjoy *pastéis de nata* after the famous Pastéis de Belém. The quality is outstanding: the pastry is crisp and buttery, while the custard is smooth, creamy, and full of flavor. It’s the kind of sweet that makes you pause and truly savor each bite. What makes this place even more special is the warmth of the service. The owner speaks several languages and welcomes everyone with genuine friendliness, which reflects the unmatched hospitality you so often find in Lisbon. While Lisbon is full of pastry shops, Casa São Miguel stands out for its authentic atmosphere, excellent service, and superb pastéis de nata. It’s a place I’d happily return to again and again.

We had a wonderful time here. I am a local elopement photographer and planner, and I recommended Casa São Miguel to the couple. They loved it! The pastries the cafe, the atmosphere. I've also been here myself as I once lived in the neighborhood, and the staff has always been my favorite part. 100% recommended.

One of the best spots we had desserts while in Portugal! The gentleman helping us was very sincere and took his time to answer my questions and in making recommendations. My husband and I stopped in for respite and a sweet pick me up. Our treats were so good that I decided to take a box for my parents-- and the packaging was adorable! (See pic!) Great vibes (tiny but charming cafe!), ***BEST CHOCOLATE CAKE*** ever, and the Portuguese petit fours were fun! Pretty mild in flavor but that was what we perceived from all the Portuguese desserts so I figured that was par for the course. 5 stars! What a gem. Highly recommend. ☺️🩷👍🏼

Came here for the Pastel de Nata and it did not disappoint! We lucked out and got some in the afternoon(they make them fresh t 3 times a day), and our was still warm. 🤌 The bakery had other treats and coffee as well.

The best pastry in Lisboa definitely, we tried sweet and salty options they are both delicious. Tip, when you sit inside you get the old decorative plates.

I loveeeeeeed their pasteis de nata and mind you, we tried over 7+ locations that were 'top recommended' on google maps (and TikTok). It's flaky, not too sweet, just right. Staff is kind and made a few recommendations for us and advised us where to visit/what to do in the neighborhood too. My friends and I got to sit outside and enjoy our natas and catch up. Took a few photos too!

Casa Sao Miguel is in Alfama. It was a beautiful cafe. The gentleman was very nice giving detailed explanations to customers about his desserts. He explained what carob was to two customers and he even showed a real carob to them! What a gem! Highly recommended for those who would like to have a dessert in a lovely cafe in this lovely area, Alfama!
