Barn Door Restaurant

While we were in Ridgefield this past weekend, we had a fantastic lunch at the charming Barb Door restaurant! We absolutely loved the rustic vibes, and the menu has a great variety whether you’re looking for pasta, burgers, pizza, seafood, and so much more! All of the ingredients are organic and locally-sourced, with many of the dishes having an Italian & Mediterranean influence. We have to commend the kitchen and wait staff on how quickly the food was prepared and their attentive service as well! When we were speaking with the owner and told him we ordered the Albanian pizza because it caught our eye, he went the extra mile and recommended that we add jalapeños as a topping. It was delicious, and we never would’ve thought to do that ourselves, so we were really appreciative! We couldn’t have been happier with our experience here, and it’s definitely a new favorite of ours in Ridgefield that I recommend checking out the next time you’re in the area!

Our first time eating here. Every employee in the restaurant was friendly and warm. The food was delicious and the prices were great. It was a little bit of a ride for us but we will definitely come back. Had a great time

We were seated immediately (went after 8 pm) and the service was excellent. The atmosphere is really calming and hopping. My family enjoyed their food; ordered a dish I probably shouldn’t have, but the seafood was definitely fresh. The base was a bit thin and too runny, but I would definitely be back to try a different entree. It’s family friendly-lots of opportunities to keep kids busy woth the decor and shelf items.

I had the broccoli rabbe and sausage, substituting green beans for the pasta, and a wedge salad, was served in a delightful tomato sauce, our server was very attentive, we also ordered the lemon sole. Food was excellent.

We had Natalie for a server and bartender and she was fabulous. She took great care of us by providing outstanding service. This restaurant is adorable with a comfortable chic atmosphere the food was delightful. We enjoyed our visit and would recommend stopping at this location for lunch if you’re in the area.

Came out tonight for my moms birthday dinner. The food was great and service was top notch for how busy it was and I’ll definitely be coming back asap! The two girl waitresses are a great team. Highly recommend.

It’s a charming restaurant with a very pleasant staff, but it takes time till you get your food. The dishes were good but not impressive for that price (one starter, one soup and three main dishes a bit over $120). We were there a day after Christmas Day for lunch and it wasn’t particularly busy. Parking is rather limited- small parking lot on the side of the restaurant.

Overall only a mediocre experience. Had to wait about 20+ mins for our table even though I confirmed our party size & time twice a few days prior. Felt like way too many tables in DR which makes it very crowded & tight. A lot of shuffling of chairs was happening and business. Our service once engaged was very efficient, friendly and nice to deal with. The menu/food was random (not usual menu because of Easter) one would expect more brunch/lunch items. The food was very average once served, lacked freshness & seasoning. The restaurant has the potential to be cozy and delicious but I cannot recommend at this time.

My new favorite place Warm cozy "old school atmosphere" with fantastic food. Cozy and not musty. I had the pork chop scarpariello and it was FANTASTIC. Just the other balance of tang and heat makes this a winner Looking forward to returning within the week

Came here for an end of year dinner with my husband and best friend just to celebrate! We had an amazing night. The food was delicious, as was the wine. The service was excellent despite it being a busy night with a full parking lot! We were very pleased with everything. Highly recommend

I ordered the Turkey burger with Sweet Potato Fries. The burger was delicious! Our server was welcoming and thoughtful. The ambiance is typical "pub" type atmosphere, overall a positive experience.

We have dined at Barn Door no fewer than 100 times and never had a bad meal and always had a great time. When we go there with friends they also say they've "never had a bad meal". Our favorites are kale and beet salad, eggplant tower, salmon with mustard dressing, cavatelli and kale. You won't go wrong!

We came here for happy hour and loved everything about it! The staff was very friendly and gave great recommendations. The space is warm and nicely decorated. We loved the truffle fries and the meatballs with grits. The bread is delicious! The bar has a nice variety of signature cocktails and wines. We loved the sidecar. We look forward to coming back for dinner sometime soon!

I was really surprised when I walked in to this restaurant. The inside is so nice beautiful dining room with fireplace very nice bar area The French onion soup was wonderful. Nice crusty top and great onion soup. Pricing was about average and lots of variety on the menu . Service was very good Will definitely be back. Strongly recommend

Such a great spot! We go for lunch occasionally and they always remember us. Wonderful service. Tuna burger is my go to, rare. I love that it comes with ginger, and amazing fries! Ambiance inviting, comfortable, tables well spaced.

Consider starting with their cheese-topped onion soup. A nice salad next? Then you can't go wrong with any pasta dish. And for dessert, something special that you can't find very often--creme brulée. An Italian meal that is authentic without being ordinary.

Absolutely delicious fresh bread and chicken parmesan!!! Perfectly al dente fettuccine. Wonderful, attentive, friendly service despite the restaurant filling up as soon as we arrived. Cannot wait to return! Thanks!

This place is absolutely fantastic. It's a bit pricy, but it is very good. The ambiance is very nice. It has a nice upscale barn theme complete with horse pictures and a fire place. It is very cozy. There's also a separate bar room. The food is very good. Everything we had was fantastic. The bread they bring out is quite nice, and the special red sauce that they bring out with it is wonderful. The people are nice and the service is relatively fast. They do tend to get confused a lot though, so don't be afraid to ask for something again. The prices are a bit up there but not too insane. The pizza is the best way to go if you're trying to save money. It easily feeds 2-3 people and it is decently inexpensive. Everything else on the menu is probably $$ to $$$. Overall good experience. I'll be back

Quaint restaurant right on Route 7. Has a nice rustic charm inside. Was busy on a Saturday evening around 8, but we were quickly seated. Drink menu was large and the La Vie En Rose cocktail was good. Loved the lemon spaghetti and finished it all (which is saying something because that rarely happens). Our waitress was friendly and attentive. Prices were fair as well. A good American restaurant when in Ridgefield!

This is a cute little place right on Route 7 in Ridgefield. I had previously passed this place so many times but had not had a chance to dine there. On a wet July evening as I was headed home I decided to give this place a chance, They have their own parking towards the left of the restaurant and there were a few opening spots where I could squeeze my car in. Once inside, the restaurant is divided into two sections. On the right is the more family oriented and much lighted up room, while on the left is where the bar is, with a few TV screens and a much darker ambiance. Since there seemed to be more people on the right section, I decided to go there. The room is pretty large with about 10-12 tables of 4 scattered around. There is definitely a barn feeling with pictures of horses and chicken sculptures on the walls. Once seated, the service was actually pretty quick, there was a dinner specials menu and then a regular menu. They start off with a fresh loaf of bread that comes with a tomato paste and butter, which was really good. I ordered the calamari with hot peppers as an appetizer and the house signature beef burger as my main. The food arrived within 15 minutes and was extremely fresh. Loved the calamari and the burger was really good. It also came with an ample supply of fries on the side. Having devoured the Burger and a few calamari pieces, I realized it was a lot of food, so made some of it to go. Overall really enjoyed the service in particular and the ambiance and the food. Would be on my repeat list!

Visit #3 another smash success at Barn Door. We had a wonderful dinner at the Barn Door- oysters, arugula salads with wild salmon and shrimp and a summer julep- all were perfect!!! Staff very attentive Oysters were really fresh, must have been flown in Salmon was simply amazing, melt in your mouth are you sure it wasn't butter Salad had a fresh parmesean cheese which was again amazing. Nice bread to start the meal. Only downside was ... too much food, will have to leave defeated with a doggie bag. Ha! Oh the drink was great, the wines are nice the beer selection is solid, but this place hits home run after home run with their cocktails. Had a strawberry fields last time which was also wonderful and the portion sizes are very generous. I mean really generous. Great staff, great location what more do you want? Come on and give it a try.

Really delicious food and attentive service. Great atmosphere between dining room and nice bar area, there's something for everyone. Looking forward to our next visit!

We were out site seeing and Weir State Park. We're looking for place for lunch. Did we score! The food was excellent and the employees were attentive and personable. You have to try it!

We had heard great things and we were excited to try it. We ordered: appetizer the zucchini bites, French onion soup, one of the salads, the salmon, a burger (barn door), and the scallops special. All were cooked ok - however with the exception of the soup they weren't good plates of food. The scallops were $36 for 4 small on top of risotto that was bland. the salmon was covered in sauce and was over cooked. The bill was over $200 with tip. Two glasses of wine. We felt that this place isn't close to worth that price. for what we received it should have been less. there are far better places to go for that amount of money. service was also slow on a night when it wasn't that busy.

We recently had a baby shower here for my sister, and Arber and his staff were outstanding! They were very accommodating, the food was delicious and plentiful, and the restaurant was lovely. Throughout the event, the staff was very attentive and helpful. I highly recommend holding your next celebration here, or just stopping in for a great meal.

Had the BEST meal - Chicken Milanese. Unbelievable! The service was 2nd to none. What a GREAT place

Nicely renovated local favorite. Good sized menu. Attentive service, friendly as you'd expect in a place like this. A bit on the noisy side and crowded on a Saturday evening. Reservations strongly recommended for busy times. Overall the food was good, though not exceptional.

Food is always great as well as the service. Portions are generous. Environment is cozy - nervous bout more people going because we want to be able to go anytime. Kidding aside- all around winner.

Fun dining room with great fireplace ,,, yummy onion soup ... excellent service ... what's not to like! This was our third time to the Barn Door; my wife and I have never been disappointed.

Barn Door is one of our very favorite local restaurants. The food and cocktails are spectacular and ambiance can't be beat. Highly recommend!

As always we have a very nice dining experience. Good food with excellent service in a nice room. Excellent pizzas, chicken Parma and good Caesar salad. Nice wine list. By Fairfield County standards their prices are quite reasonable. Can get a bit noisy after 8pm. Highly recommend. Suggest avoiding sitting near the big round table in the corner. Tends to attract noisy loud drunks.

Seeing visit and this place is just wonderful. Excellent service, lovely decor and wow the food is delicious. Large portions. Today we shared a delicious chicken parm / linguine and their farm salad. So fresh and everything top notch. Owner is present and says hello. I love this place and so worth a drive to eat there. Best all around place.

Food looked good but we will never know. Our drink order was taken, but only one soda was served. Obviously, no bartender as the waitress asked how to make my mixed drink, which was never served. We waited a half hour and our meal order was never taken. Only one waitress for the entire dining room. We couldn't wait any longer because we had tickets for a show. 40th anniversary dinner ruined.

Good food. Good service. Parking was a little difficult but construction in the area may have had something to do with that. I will definitely go back.

We have dined at Barn Door multiple times, each visit was consistently great. A rare find in restaurants today. We have ordered many different dishes and each has been fantastic, the vibe, the food, drinks and staff always a pleasure!

Burger came completely raw, looks like they forgot to even cook it. I tried to get a redelivery but was told I would have to pay another $5 delivery fee to get it redelivered... You would expect more from a $19 burger.

Food was very good. Service was special. We were a large group and they handled it very well.

Stopped on our way to a show at Ridgefield playhouse. It was a little out of the way especially with some winter weather in the area, but well worth the detour. Building didn't look like much from the outside but inside ambiance was great. Sat in the dining room across from fireplace. Service was excellent and fast considering we were already late for our reservation on account of the weather. Everything was excellent, apps, fish, pasta and dessert. The almond cake was amazing!

Food price / quality rating 8. The Chicken Scarpariello was excellent. Service was alright. I'd give a higher rating if the prices were a little more reasonable, or if a small salad (or similar) were included with an entree. It appears that all entrees are a la carte. Freshly baked bread is included however,l, which is very nice. The dessert menu is pretty standard, no real surprises. Two emtrees, two wines, and two draught beers came to $110, not including tip.

Love this place! The owner is always so welcoming and the food is always delicious. Chrissy at the bar is fantastic, great service and great food.

Driving home from the Mall and checked out Barn Door. Sat at the bar area, very nice, we ordered a margarita pizza, we asked the bartender if it was a real margarita , because most places it's just a regular plain pizza and they throw basil on top and call it a margarita pizza. The pizza came out and it was the real thing! It was absolutely delicious! The crust, sauce everything the best! Oh and the house salad fantastic! So from now on when I want my margarita pizza l'll be coming from Fairfield for a pizza.

The food here is spectacular! I really like the lemon spaghetti. It's so simple, but packed with flavor. One of the best pasta dishes I've ever had. The calamari is excellent - not rubbery and fried to order. The ribs fall off the bone and are a huge hit with our toddler. The park spots can be a bit annoying to get in and out of, but it's worth it. The owner (or maybe chef) was walking around the restaurant talking to everyone. The pride and love he has in his food was apparent. One thing I didn't love was the blueberry pear cobbler. It was okay, but I preferred the cheesecake my husband ordered. One thing to note is they pretty much never take takeout orders on busy weekend nights.

We're long time patrons of Arber's Barn Door restaurant and find it a welcoming oasis whether for drinks and apps or for a full lunch or dinner. The dining room decor gives a sense of a home setting in horse country, relaxing and spacious. We especially like his diverse menu always well-executed. Nidya & Michael

Parking: small but lots of parking Decor: very relaxed with great color combinations. Beautiful fireplace. Bar area separate from dining but equally as nice. Staff: very friendly and prompt to serve you...owner even came over to explain a change in menu. Food: we had steaks and chicken parm's and they were large and cooked perfectly Overall: highly recommend this location!!!

This is the restaurant in Ridgefield Ct The first time dining in this quite rustic restaurant in Ridgefield,Ct. on the recommendation my husbands friend. It. Is about a 50minute drive ftom the White plains area.. Farmhouse decor greeted us.. Only negative(which isn't really a negative ) is that there is not outdoor seating i The tables are spaced so not to be on top of each other. The menu is quite diverse.. appetizers range from soups(onion&clam chowder ) to mussels , oysters meatballs, -tuna tartar shrimp cocktail. Entrees are pastas,burgers,varied chicken dinners,shrimp &ribs I chose a choppedAmerican salad which contained romaine toasted corn feta cheese avocado olives cherry tomatoes topped with salmon. The dressing was excellent .... My husband chose Chicken Milanese( see foto ) The chicken was so juicy and flavorful!! They served a huge loaf of bread which came with a slab of butter and a small container if a spread. ...Tomato based with pureed roasted red pepper...delicious !!! The restaurant is a friendly place.. the manager came over to our table just to ask how everything was . the servers were dressed in t shirts with the logo of the restaurant the restaurant The restaurant is on route7 not far from the Danbury mall It can be reached via84 or a more scenic route ...684. Katonah/cross river exit and across35 to rte7! Recommended for those who want a short drive to a country "farm" eating place!!! We will return for another meal A5 star rating from us!!

I absolutely LOVE this place! The best local food! Cute to eat there but we order pick up once a week! Fresh delicious food!

We checked out the restaurant menu before we went to meet friends for dinner. The menu was different on the website than the one in the restaurant. The other really annoying thing is that the online menu (their own website)) was very difficult to read, especially for seniors whose eye sight needs a better color contrast to read it. We chose to split the Caesar salad to start. The waiter asked if we wanted anchovies and we said no. I have never seen so many anchovies on a salad. We each had 5! For my entree, I had the special sole oreganata which was excellent. My husband had the salmon special which was also excellent. The portions were a nice size. We opted to have coffee without having desserts. The cappuccino was wonderful. It is worth another trip.

Finally got to this local place that's been been operating and on my radar for awhile. This address seems like a good one but there been along history of transient restaurant here for decades. My first visit gives me hope it will succeed here and thrive for a long while. Love the bar vibe and our meal depicted in the pictures was very good. The menu is seductive I will have to be back to try many other things!

Wonderful place! Amazing food, warm and friendly atmosphere. Service was great. We had the short rib ravioli special, prime rib, and tres leche cake. All were great! Also loved the mixed drinks. Will definitely go back!

Bored with restaurants close to home so we ventured a bit far and decided to try Barn Door. I ignored the not so good review and gave it a shot. Glad I did. I like the rustic feel when I entered the restaurant...it's pretty . The fireplace is romantic so perfect for date as well. Place is spotless clean and that includes the restroom. Mind you... tables are properly spaced. You can check the panoramic picture I posted. Looks dark in the picture but you can blame my phone for that or just me lol We started with drinks; White sangria - not pre made so I requested to adjust alcohol to my liking. It is delicious (to remind myself for next time to ask for less ice) . My hubby ordered dirty martini . It was done perfectly served with olives and cheese just the way it should. It passed my husband's picky taste. As to our entree- servings are pretty big. When servings are huge , my normal experience in restaurants are they are lacking in taste. But to my surprise, not at Barn door. The swordfish entree is juicy (not dry at all). Same with the chicken entree. Btw, our app is mussels and the broth that came with is so good as well. Please note that this restaurant has special menu. Servers are very attentive . Coffee tasted as if it is French pressed and served with steamed milk. My cappuccino is excellent as well. Apple blueberry cobbler a la mode is fantastic. We had a great experience so In short, we will be returning customers. Btw, When we get our check... can't believe the total cost. With everything we ordered, we only spent a little over $100 and that includes tax. Omg - can't believe it. Anyway, BD is now in our list of to go restaurant in CT.

Truly enjoyed this place! I read the reviews and decided to give it a shot. I was expecting a very rustic spot and decor and although there was some rustic decor it was also very updated as well. We enjoyed our ride to the restaurant but were ready to eat when we finally got there. To start off we had a half dozen oysters which were delicious. For our meal my girlfriend ordered the lamb burger and I had the BBQ ribs. Both meals were absolutely delicious. The lamb burger was so juicy and tasty. It was cooked at the perfect temperature and every bite was full of flavor and juices. My BBQ ribs were fall of the bone delicious. They were perfect just how I like them. I could have eaten another rack. Overall we had a great experience and will definitely be back to try other menu items.

A hidden gem. The service is always on point. The food is delicious. And the space is super cute.
