On the Grid : Sing Hon Loong Bakery

"Ask any local and they will remember these traditional bakeries from their childhood. 50 years on, Sing Hon Long Bakery still holds steadfast to prepping bread the way they always have. Pick off the rows and rows of freshly baked bread and choose the spread to go within. The staff will then expertly carve off the crust before slicing the bread and generously adding kaya, butter or peanut butter. Although these soft pillowy loaves do not get the same fanfare as kaya toast, they most certainly are a well-loved part of the Singaporean palette!" - OuterEdit

If you’re someone who loves the comforting taste of old-school, traditional bread, then Sing Hon Long Bakery is truly a gem you must visit. The moment you step near the shop, you can already feel that nostalgic vibe — the kind of place where bread is made with heart, patience, and recipes passed down for generations. Their choices are simple yet meaningful: soft buns, classic loaves, traditional pastries… everything reminds you of the good old days. No fancy gimmicks, no modern twists — just the pure, original taste of bakery items we grew up with. The texture is fluffy, the aroma is warm, and each bite feels like home. ❤️ It’s the type of bakery where you grab a few buns and suddenly you’re brought back to childhood mornings, school days, and that classic neighborhood bakery charm. If you’re looking for traditional bread you can still find and enjoy, Sing Hon Long Bakery will never disappoint. A true old-school treasure! 🥯🍞✨ A place worth supporting and revisiting again and again.

I was brought here by a friend who has fond childhood memories of this bakery. The bread is truly flavorful with a firm, satisfying texture. I also enjoyed the charming, nostalgic atmosphere.

14/Jun/2025 Takeaway 1 white loft, 1 baguette & 1 creamy peanut butter, was good! This is my regular place to go for the traditional bread. They have adjusted their operating hours, used to be 24/7. Thanks for keeping the traditional bread going.

Love and support our heritage is what we always do. This is one of the oldest humble, our proudest local traditional bakery. Run by a dedicated family. Everytime we walk past, we would linger and admire the old school shopfront, inhale the fragrance of traditional bread. Our favourite is the curry bun at only $1.30, french loaf & traditional bread. Their curry bun was so famous and snatched up really fast. It's very big, 用料好 and very fresh. Support our local bakery!! We will be back!! 😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋

The cempedak cake is an absolute delight! So soft, moist and fragrant and it doesn’t have any metallic baking powder taste either.
