A Casa das Janelas Com Vista

Staying at this hotel was fabulous. Not only because of its location—which is my favorite in Lisbon, as I consider it quieter and safer, as well as brighter and close to everything—but also because of the staff. The hotel staff are wonderful: attentive, precise, and friendly. They give you privacy in the common areas, yet at the same time they were incredibly kind and helpful with our little one. The hotel offers not only an excellent breakfast, but also coffee and tea, as well as sweets and fruit available throughout the day. Since we have a baby starting solid, we asked to use the kitchen, which we used not only for him. The common areas are clean, spacious, and have a beautiful atmosphere. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. There’s no doubt about it—one of the best stays ever. Thanks for your attention

Nice comfy rooms, quiet as should be and in an area where you can easily reach food locations, metro for travel or sightseeing spots. But you will be climbing some stairs/elevation in the streets. Because Bairro Alto is build into a hillside or something and you'll notice that pretty quickly. So it's not barrier free. Neither the Casa nor the region is suitable for wheelchair.

We had a lovely 5-night stay at Casa das Janelas. Our room on the 3rd floor was comfortable, quiet and had all the amenities needed. There is no elevator but that was OK with us. We loved the lounge, breakfast, reception area - tastefully furnished and a great place to relax after a busy day exploring Lisbon. We appreciated the complimentary teas, coffee, water and snacks as well as the honest bar selections of wines and port. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful and available in the lounge area until late at night. Casa das Janelas is located on a quiet street in the Barrio Alto about a 10-15 minute walk from the Baixa-Chiado metro station. It was nice to be away from the busy areas of town but still within walkable distance from shops and restaurants.

We stayed 4 nights here and it was adequate. It is a quaint boutique-y hotel in a quiet residential area. As other reviews mention, this is not for those who cannot climb stairs as your room may be on the top (3rd) floor and location requires some steep hills especially if you are coming from the touristy lisbon area. Overall, our stay was adequate. Breakfast was simple. The room walls can be a bit thin and some of the floor boards were creaky. For the price, it is a good stay.

I stayed at Casa das Janelas Com Vista for 7 days in October. The location is about 2 blocks from Bairro Alto restaurant/bar area. Yet, the two block distance is enough to give a different vibe. The street is quiet and residential.|The reception, kitchen, and common area is in the lower level. It's large, open, and welcoming. I spent some time in the area every day. There are complimentary water, coffee, and pastries everyday. |I stayed on the third floor with a nice view of the neighborhood. The room is well decorated with a balcony. Very generous sized room overall. Room service is daily, and the staff keeps the place clean.|The staff is the best part of this facility. They are super friendly, know the area, and are always ready to help. I had many questions/requests during my stay, and they were always patient, and helpful.||Finally, Lisbon is a hilly city built with cobblestones. The walk to Bairro Alto could be taxing. While I walked up to the hotel from Baxia/Chiado metro station on the first day, I decided to take the transfer to the airport. For the healthy and able, this is a neighborhood gem.

Very beautiful hotel! The staff were very polite and friendly, the room we stayed in was comfortable and lovely, and the breakfast was very good! There was such a warm and relaxing atmosphere that made me feel right at home. The breakfast area is wonderful — you can sit there at any time of the day, enjoy a coffee, and unwind.

My wife writes: The staff of this establishment greeted us throughout the day and evening with generous hospitality, attentiveness, and care. The morning breakfast was beautifully presented and full to the brim with healthy and vibrant options. The environment of the community room is cozy and also conducive to peaceful rest and rejuvenation between outings. Being able to make tea throughout the day was another great boost. Casa Janelas Com Vista is wonderfully situated in a great district. There was considerable noise from people in the street at night, but thanks to solid windows and earplugs, we managed to get decent sleep and rest.

Charming small hotel in the Bario Alto district of Lisbon.|Room was lovely, super comfy bed and great bathroom. Fluffy towels and good bathroom amenities. No TV in the room which didn't bother us.|There's a common area in the basement where you take breakfast, but is available for use all day for Tea/Coffee and cake or fruit which is a nice touch.|There seem to be issues with the Door while we were there. The reception is not available 24/7, so you are given a code/QR code to access after 10pm. A few people were not able to get in, and we found the same ourselves when we got back late one nice. The staff were very apologetic and said they had asked for the company to come and look at the door.|Mario Alto is the lively area of Lisbon but we were not disturbed by noise, but location could be tricky for the less mobile - the hills are steep and the cobbles make dragging a suitcase a bit of a workout.
