Hanbo Korean Noodle

The duck kalgaksu was one of the best noodle soups I’ve ever had. Broth was so rich and full of duck flavour and a generous portion size. I would highly recommend coming just for this, I can’t wait to eat it again 🤤 Mandu were all quite yummy, kimchi was more juicy than pork. I’d recommend eating it first while it’s freshly steamed or else it will get stuck.

I was passing through Calgary from Boston and stopped here because I was craving kalguksu. My husband got the seafood kalguksu and I had the spicy clam kalguksu, plus mandus. The noodles were super chewy and the broth was clean and refreshing. So comforting. The mandus were also impressive. Huge, and packed with meat, almost like meatballs. The kimchi was so good I wanted to buy some to take home. Portions are very generous (we had leftovers to go). The owner was also incredibly kind and even gave us a complimentary mini gimbap when they heard we were visiting from Boston (perfect to enjoy at the airport). I was sad that I don’t live in Calgary. Highly recommend!

Been a couple times and the Kalguksu is excellent, definitely recommend to order this as it is their speciality. However, their spicy soups are good too. I also love the side dishes, especially the onion one.

Tried their seafood hotpot. Tons of seafood, veggies and mushrooms makes the taste light but so flavorful, super umami. It supposed to be share by more than two people but thanks to our invisible frds we were able to finish it! The hand pulled noodle and kimchi is also recommended!

Food was really tasty! We tried a couple different items. The shrimp dumpling was something we’ve never really tried and we all loved. The beef was extremely tasty as well. It pairs really nicely with the spicy hot sauce it comes with. The seafood was cooked to a perfect tenderness. This was a very fulfilling and healthy meal. Would highly recommend to my friends :)

We recently visited Hanbo Kalguksu and it was easily one of the best Korean noodle experiences I’ve had in Canada. The broth was incredibly rich and flavorful, the noodles were perfectly chewy, and every dish tasted homemade in the best way. The portions were generous, and the ingredients felt fresh and high-quality. The service was also excellent—friendly, quick, and attentive without being intrusive. The restaurant has a cozy, clean atmosphere that makes you feel comfortable as soon as you sit down. If you’re craving authentic Korean comfort food, this place is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be coming back!

This noodle restaurant is very good. Portions are excellent and definitely worth the money. The pork and kimchi dumplings are HUGE and I would recommend everyone to get a tray of them. The broth of the soup tastes smooth and rich. All the staff are friendly and quick.

Yelp
Being in Canada for a few days, who would've thought that such a delicious Korean store would be walking distance from my hotel! Originally, I wanted KBBq, but decided to give Hanbo a chance instead. Their Kalguksu (knife-cut) noodles are incredibly delicious, with a slurpful texture and umami broth! The beef chunks in the beef Kalguksu were plentiful and had lean and thick pieces that were a great complement to the soup. Their pork mando is super juicy with generous fillings of meat inside! The service was super attentive and enjoyable, often checking up on me whenever I requested something. Price was a bit expensive, but given the fact I'm touristing in Calgary, this meal has been one of the best I've had, especially for Korean food! This gives LA Ktown a run for its money :), would definitely fly back to Canada just for their noodles!

Yelp
Great authentic Korean noodles and hotpot. Good place to go to on a cold day, so pretty much most of the year in Calgary. Food: Soup had deep complex flavors and hot sauce complimented well. Side dishes was authentic and provided a good cleansing of the palate. Noodles were unfortunately slightly overcooked. Service: Friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, called and was confirmed that they could remove the spiciness from the spicy pork bone jeongol. When we ordered in house, server said we couldn't. Atmosphere: Spacious clean typical noodle house. Nothing really stood out. Value: Fair for the quality and quantity of food. Price seems to have continuously creeped up over the last year though. Daily specials available which will probably give you more bang for your buck.

Yelp
Met up with friends in town to try a new Korean spot, Hanbo Korean Noodle. They specialize in knife cut noodles. They're located next to Ishtar Restaurant and Seoul Korean BBQ. We dropped in on a packed Wednesday (12:00pm). All the tables were full. Wait time was about 25 minutes with a continuous lineup of customers. Service was excellent as they came by several times to offer banchan refills. The one page menu consists of kalguksu, mandu, appetizers and jeon. Love a small, tight menu. - Banchan - kimchi and pickled onion/cucumber/celery. Kimchi was fantastic; fresh, crunchy and a good spice level. Pickled mix of vegetables was enjoyable, my favourite was the cucumbers. - Mini kimbab ($4.50 for 3) - tiny but quality was good. - Kimchi jeon ($13.90) - thin and perfectly crispy. Surprisingly, no dipping sauce but the jeon was well executed. - Pork & kimchi mandu ($17.50) - plump, good bite to the wrapping. Filling was generous but bland. - Beef kalguksu ($16.90) - beef broth was homey and comforting. Decent amount of beef. Good portion of noodles and for a Korean style noodle, good elasticity but I prefer it a little firmer. - Pork bone kalguksu ($17.90) - broth tasted similar, slightly less flavourful compared to the beef broth. Pork meat was excellent. Would happily come back to HKN for more kalguksu.

Yelp
A delicious new restaurants! Hanbo Korean Noodles opened a couple of months ago and it's excellent!!!! We went there before 6 and already had to wait for a table. Therefore, make sure you come early or else be prepared to wait. This restaurant took over Hot Point Bubble Tea. They specialize in Hand Pull noodles and dumplings. My husband and I ordered the noodle soup today. My particular order was the Chicken soup. Man, it's one of the best hand made noodles I had in Calgary. The broth was very tasty and the home made noodles was soooooo yummy! The sauces they gave us were a perfect fit as well. Their dumplings look FANTASTIC and almost every table was ordering it. We didn't because we were not too hungry but definitely will get it next time. They are HUGE! Service was great. They will explain the sauces to you and refill them if need be. Like I said this is packed! I have a feeling this place will be around for awhile. Very happy to have something this delicious in my neighborhood!

Yelp
New and clean shop with friendly service. Had beef and seafood Kalguksu's, pork mandu, and mini kimbab. Banchan included some outstanding braised pork, pickles and excellent fresh cabbage kimchi. 10/10 Noodles were really good, clearly fresh. Both soup broths were a little thin for our tastes. Couldn't really get a beef feel or a seafood feel. We ended up adding quite a bit of gochujang to both. Don't know if these broths are house made or not. 7/10 The mini kimbab were really dense, almost like they were made with tteokbokki rather than rice. 5/10 Mandu were giant and cooked nicely , but needed something more... taste and texture wise. 6/10 The kimchi was so good, we bought a container to take home!

Yelp
OMG! They have the best Kimchi and Pork Mando, a lil spicy the way I liked. The service was fast and the ambiance is always amazing.

Yelp
I had Beef Kalguksu and Kimchi Mandu for lunch here. Broth was rich and flavorful, noodles was deliciously chewy! They serve two kinds of banchan with your meal as well as Geotjori-Fresh Kimchi. I always buy To Go Geotjori from here btw! Take note that they have a break time so double check the hours before going. I'd like to try their Jeongol next time. The service and ambiance is quick and welcoming! Enjoy your meal!
