Ya Kun Kaya Toast

Ordered fish otah sandwiches n yuan yang c kosong large. $4.80+$3.10 = $8.10. Terribly costly even though sandwiches r made v pretty. Yuan yang c is good as it's not sour. But still $8.10 is a scary price tag. As usual, had to clean up dirty table with crumbs n arrange tables n chairs properly before I cld enjoy my teatime.

Situated on L4 of Plaza Singapura, this outlet is not very big, and a bit cramped in terms of walking space. Food and drinks were OK, but not fantastic. Pretty standard for a Ya Kun. Service was also decent but nothing special.

Ive always loved Ya Kun food and coffee, and im a regular customer. But the Plaza Singapura outlet has been nothing but disappointing. Every time i encounter the short haired lady with spectacles who works the morning shift, it feels like a painful experience. Just imagine, you start ur morning feeling fresh and ready, excited to grab your breakfast and coffee, only to be hit by a cold, dismissive attitude that instantly kills your mood :) :) ;) Simple requests like "no sugar" or "takeaway" are repeatedly ignored no matter how many times i remind her. And when mistakes happen, instead of an apology, i get a look that makes it seem like its my fault. Honestly, it ruins my entire morning :) If it were just a bad day, i could understand. But this has happened so many times that i cant make any more excuses. Maybe you should consider finding a job that suits you better?!

It's another typical breakfast of coffee with cracker. Ordered crackers with kaya and peanut butter spread. Typically at any other YK, I get generous filling. At PS YK, it was so thin that I pry it up to check if they remember to spread anything in between. On first look, I thought they missed out kaya..but it's actually a very very thin layer. Must have been a new staff or untrained. Keeping 2 stars as the coffee (kopi C Kosong) is good.

Ya Kun serves iconic Singaporean breakfast favorites with consistent quality. The kaya toast is crisp and fragrant, paired perfectly with soft-boiled eggs and rich kopi. The casual, nostalgic café vibe and quick, friendly service make it a reliable spot for a comforting, local treat.

Had breakfast here this morning — French Toast with Kaya jam at the side and Kopi C. The coffee is superb, aromatic and thick Nanyang style but mixed with evaporated milk. I love it. The French Thick Toast is coated with a generous amount of beaten eggs and nicely toasted till golden brown. Its so yummy eaten on its own or slightly dipped in the kaya jam provided at the side. A comfortable place for breakfast — nice food & coffee and its not too crowded. Strongly recommended for breakfast. Revisited here on 24 May 2024. Have not returned until this morning for breakfast. The food and drinks are still good but the price has gone up from $4.60 to $5.40 for peanut toast and kopi C kosong. Killiney at B2 seems to offer better value for money. Revisited on 17 June 24. Had butter sugar toast and coffee. Butter is overloaded. Should have used less butter, less wastage. Revisited on 20 Jan 25. Had Rendang chicken Toastwich. Wow… its not chicken cubes, it’s a whole chunk of chicken meat. Delicious! Will definitely return for this. Revisited on 28 March 2025. Had French Toast with cheese. Its was not toasted too lightly at first. I informed the service staff and she gladly improved my toast for me. Its was well done after she redid the toasting. I enjoyed my breakfast today. Revisited today 14 November 2025. Enjoyed my breakfast as usual, especially the peanut toast, so yummy. I loved it cos its generously spread with lots of peanut butter and toasted to golden brown. No kaya and very crispy.

We got a recommendation from a taxi driver to visit this place for kaya toast. Although it was a good experience, we could tell It wasn’t the best one. We loved their kayo toast, but since it is a popular franchise, the quality and atmosphere differs slightly depending on which branch you visit. We would recommend you visit ones that are outside of the mall for a better experience.

Yum. Really miss the coffee and tea here. Definitely different coffee beans and tea leaves. And the butter kaya (eggs and coconut milk) toast is a must to try. This is one of the toast chain in Singapore but definitely one of the best
