"An evening of wine at Heuriger Wieninger Austrian wines are made all the better by a visit to the many vineyards and wine taverns (Heuriger) on the outskirts of Vienna. Wieninger vineyard is located north of the city on the Nussberg. A light meal and wine outdoors among the vineyards is a great way to cap off an evening in Vienna. Trams run from the city center to Nussdorf. To explore more heuriger, the little Vienna Heurigen Express train runs from Nussdorf to Kahlenberg and Grinzing."

Yelp
What a breath of fresh air in our trip to Vienna. We took public transportation to Grinzing and then an Uber and it was worth all of that travel. Gorgeous views of the winery you can enjoy from a variety of seating options. There were food options but we just enjoyed their delicious wine. The Strum was not my favorite from our trip but the Rose and Verliner were wonderful! This was a great place to enjoy the sunset and we didn't have to worry about our 2 year old running around or our 2 month old crying.

Yelp
Great place to escape the noise and crowds of the city. We took an Uber from the downtown Vienna area straight to Mayer am Nussberg. The ride took about 20 minutes and was much easier than trying to figure out public transportation. It was well worth the time and cost. Mayer am Nussberg is situated on a hill overlooking Vienna. It's a beautiful location and the perfect place to spend an evening. There are picnic tables and folding chairs facing the vineyard and the setting sun. It seems to be a favorite haunt for locals, as we saw many folks arriving on foot with kids and dogs in tow. The staff were very nice and helpful with our lack of German language skills. They helped us pick several different wines to taste and tried to explain each in pretty good English. We stayed until dark and took an Uber back to the city. It was a wonderful evening of awesome views, great wine and even some tasty food.

Yelp
Apparently one of the oldest in Vienna, where Beethoven once lived. We started with bottle of Gemischter Satz DAC, from their highly rated Rothaus(redhouse) label. Refined with enough lively acidity. Had mushroom (Schwammerl) and egg appetizer as well as calves liver and Spannferkel mains. Both perfect. Cheeses from buffet to finish. Lovely people as well as staff. Wonderful warm evening in a charming setting.
