14 Best Museums in Barcelona | Condé Nast Traveler

"Barcelona’s main cultural center is off the radar of most tourists, but attracts some prominent names for splashy multimedia exhibitions. In 2017, Bjork used 3D images and VR to immerse you in her creative process, and Stanley Kubrick is the hot ticket starting in October 2018. Look at the listings and you'll find a packed schedule of talks, exhibitions, comedy nights and movies. In summer, the courtyard becomes a live events space with an open-air cinema and music concerts." - Gemma Askham

The only exhibition open when we were there (on a Sunday evening) was the comics collections by Chris Ware, and wonderfully the ticket is for free. It turned out to be a truly rewarding experience. Come to think of it, who could say that works in this form should not be regarded as masterpieces, every bit as exquisite as classical fine arts?

A very varied and well curated cultural space. With a range of spaces and elements that leaves you energised and full. From sculpture to paint to moving image to AR. Not only the installations but also the fact that there's an archive where you can work or study or reflect on your visit. There's also a cafe, which was my only slight negative as the service wasn't the quickest or friendliest, but the quality of food was very good. Overall a really uplifting experience, in an interesting neighbourhood of the city.

Great place to see exhibitions and spend a Sunday afternoon. The exhibitions are always very inspiring and stay on for a few months. There is a nice inside yard where one can take the sun and enjoy watching people dancing on sunny days. If you go with kids they have activities for them to draw linked to the current exhibitions.

Truly a contemporary gallery using not only the visuals, but also sounds or other senses. Important topics that are probably often changing. 100% worth the admission price.

Wow! This was only 4 euros for students but I definitely would have paid the 6 euro standard price. I visited the new exhibit on ‘Suburbia: Building the American Dream’. The exhibit was massive and packed with so much interesting stuff, genuinely one of the best expositions I have ever seen around the world. I’m so surprised such a fantastic exposition centred around American suburbia is in Barcelona. Please visit this exposition, it’s really interesting and definitely worth it.

Incredible building and exteriors too, often has some brilliant exhibitions and on Sundays it’s free! There is a huge exterior space with a bookshop and reception plus on the inside a couple of levels of artwork. Definitely worth a look!
