On the Grid : Hopewell Centre elevator

"Once the tallest tower in Asia, this Wan Chai landmark still offers an incredible view of the city, even in the shadow of much taller buildings. Hop onto the elevator from the 17th floor, and take the express lift to the 62nd floor. You can choose to eat in the revolving restaurant at the top (if you're the type of person who thinks eating in a revolving restaurant is a good decision), but a better idea is to just enjoy the free ride in the glass lift. Have your camera ready, and don't be ashamed of going up and down a couple of times." - Isabel Foo

We visited mainly for the free elevator experience, which was a cool thing to check off the list. Aside from that, there wasn’t much that stood out to us. The building has several restaurants, but overall, nothing particularly unique caught our attention during our visit.

To experience the free lift in here, first go to the 3rd floor by escalators. Then, ride the elevators to the 17th floor. After that, find the entrance of The Grand Buffet and ride the elevator to the 56th floor

I went to HopeWell Center with my kid in the KEDZTOPIA indoor playground in 6th floor. It's the best so far ❤️😍

We came here for the scenic lift, but unfortunately it was temporarily closed. Unclear when it will open again. (As of Sep 14th, 2025).

We visited this mall primarily for an event showcasing exotic animals, and it was a delightful experience for the whole family. My sons were thrilled to interact with creatures like snakes, iguanas, and lizards—definitely a highlight of the day! The mall itself has all the staples you'd expect: clothing stores, restaurants, and a few cool sports shops we enjoyed browsing. I had heard it was famous for its panoramic view from the elevator on the 17th floor, but unfortunately, the lift was closed during our visit( weekend) which was a bit of a letdown. There’s also a revolving restaurant that’s quite well known—while it looked amazing, it was a bit out of our budget this time. Hopefully next visit! Overall, it was a pleasant, pet-friendly environment with exciting surprises that made our day extra special.

This is a convenient location in the Wanchai district. It is not too far from other facilities such as MTR and shopping. Hopewell Centre itself is a nice complex with a hotel, shopping arcade, restaurants and more. The staff from Hopewell is friendly and kind. They are there ready to offer assistance you may need. They answer and direct you as required without hesitation. The place is crowded and being maintained well and clean.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t find a balcony where I could get some fresh air, so my information must be out of date. And there was no bookstore either. Apparently the main attraction was the elevator to the restaurant. Next time I’m going to the restaurant with a clear glass elevator. I’m looking forward to seeing HK view and diner!我愛合和中心

Many chargers. But Parking route is like Neverending turning. $34 per hour, pretty expensive comparing other parts of Hong Kong Island. Advantages are many chargers and no need line up. Located in wan chai, entrance is a bit tricky…so look carefully when coming in this lot.
