The Civic Theatre

Was there Oct. 19, 2025 for Minus the Bear on their Menos el Oso anniversary tour and had an absolute blast. Decent beer prices and excellent sound upstairs, downstairs, and at the stage. Great room. Friendly staff.

Civic Theatre is a great medium-size (1,200 cap) theater style venue with seats typically only in the balcony, but I believe, on occasion, they add bar tops, stools, seats on the 2nd walk up tier and on the floor. The sound was awesome when I last visited for Soul Rebels and Dumpstaphunk during the first weekend of JazzFest 2025. Both bands were about the best form I've seen them, putting every ounce of energy into their respective performances.

The Civic Theatre is a really good place to see a concert. There is open floor general admission or two balconies with seating, and two side viewing areas. It’s a really neat layout because there isn’t a bad seat in the place. The acoustics were great and the bands I saw all sounded fantastic. I sat in the back row of the first balcony and felt like I was right there with the band. They had plenty to drink but were no serving any food (they may serve food sometimes but it didn’t appear that way). It was pretty tight getting around the lobby area and to the bathroom and bar, but not unbearable. Overall it is kind of bare bones, but to me that was part of the appeal. The seating was roomy, the view and sound were great, so I was alright with it not being really fancy. I have them bookmarked now so I can go back when another good show pops up. I would have rated another star if they served food, I like to eat while I watch a show.

The theater is really fun. Lighting was good and sound average. I love being able to go upstairs and enjoying the show from the balconies. Bar is beautiful, bathrooms clean. I would suggest making a smoking area that isnt the exit. As someone allergic to smoke, it was a horrible end to a great show having to run down a tunnel of 70 smokers.

Awesome acoustics! Intimate theater with balcony seating. Standing room only on the floor. Good drink selection if you imbibe. Been to this place a few times now and always happy to come back for The Rads

Civic Theater has become one of my all-time favorite venues in the world. Something is just perfect about the room and they happen to book good bands regularly. Unassuming and small in the best way. You can be on the second balcony and still feel like you can reach out and touch the stage. And there’s a bar on every level. Comawn. I’ve yet to have a bad experience

Nice venue for 2-3k people for a relatively intimate live music experience. I'm fairly challenged orthopeadically (my word and spelling) and though I must believe there was an elevator somewhere, it was not obvious. I observed paramedics extracting an elderly gentleman from the 3rd level via stairs during the event. Bathrooms on 1st and 3rd levels only.

Had a great time at the Descendants, circle jerks, and adolescents show. Great acoustics, balcony, and overall layout. I definitely recommend checking a live event at this venue....
