San Ignacio Resort Hotel

My family and I recently stayed here prior to Christmas. The room and the view were amazing - we saw a kinkajou and aracari toucans right from our deck! Everything was clean and well-appointed, and the trails were terrific. The true standout for San Ignacio Resort Hotel is the staff - almost everyone we met was friendly and helpful. The front desk accommodated us by providing an extra cot to make our stay more comfortable - and cooperated when our kids were not up to a planned activity. The breakfasts were terrific - we were able to birdwatch directly from our table, and were very impressed by a staff member, Elito, who provided us with fantastic info re the birds we were seeing, as well as local advice. If you are a birder, I highly recommend an early morning bird hike with Santos, right at the resort itself. He was so informative and helped me snap an excellent pic of a Gartered Violaceous Trogon, amongst other birds. The concierge desk was incredibly helpful and supportive. They arranged our transport to/from Belize City, including a stop at the Belize Zoo, which was terrific. We wanted to make the most of our time in San Ignacio and they scheduled a zipline/cave tubing tour, an informative tour of Xunantunich, and an incredible ATV to waterfall tour that I highly recommend for fellow adventure seekers. We had never been to Belize before, and the San Ignacio Resort Hotel was an excellent introduction!

Our stay at the San Ignacio Resort Hotel was fantastic! The resort and staff were top-notch. The friendly front desk team gave us great recommendations on things to see and do and even helped book a last-minute tour of the ATM Cave for the next morning. Everyone was incredibly helpful and always greeted us with a smile. We only wish we had more time to enjoy this amazing place!

Such a beautiful place! The staff helped our multi-generational family plan a sort of "all-inclusive" trip. Every thing we ate was amazing! Carmencita arranged for us to have an amazing taco fest, and Jorge and Alejandro helped us out with excursions. Each and every guide was amazing! We really enjoyed seeing the ruins. One of our favorites was the night walk. Everything was clean, and everyone was so helpful

We did not stay here but did multiple tours here including 6am birding, iguanas, and medicinal tea tour. All were a fantastic time. Santos was our guide for birding and he was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable and friendly. Helped us get a ton of great pictures of the beautiful collared aracaris and keel-billed toucans. Medicinal tea tour with Ivan was very interesting and informative. Ivan is also very passionate and has dedicated years to learning the Mayan uses of different local plants as medicines. Great educational activities and very friendly, professional staff.

My friends and I had a wonderful time at this resort. It was clean, great restaurant, friendly staff but the absolute best part were the guided tours! We did the Mayan ruins and cave tubing with Carlos and had an amazing time. Carols was very knowledgeable about the ruins and we had so much fun tubing. We then did a night hike and got up early for birding with Santos. His knowledge of the birds and enthusiasm was amazing . He was also our guide to the Belize zoo. I don’t have enough good words to describe how great the staff was. Thank you for a great experience!

Can't imagine a more special place in San Ignacio! The staff was terrific. We in particular greatly appreciated Noelia for all she did for us. The Concierge, Jorge, and his colleagues arranged great tours of Mayan ruins. Food in the restaurant was excellent. Got addicted to the fry jacks! And any easy walk into town. A small town, but a few places to drink, eat and shop.

Great hotel with easy walking access to town of San Ignacio. Hotel is colonial character, well-maintained, safe, quiet, with a beautiful pool area and good restaurant. The staff are outstanding - friendly and very helpful. Birds and iguanas on site are a great addition. Excellent location for visiting Mayan ruins in the area and the town itself. Excellent value for the money too. We loved it.

To start, the hotel itself is gorgeous. Our room was very nice and had a decent-sized porch area with a hammock which was great for relaxing during the day and evening. The pool was nice and there was a small walking trail which was enjoyable as well. The food at the restaurant exceeded all our expectations and was delicious. The staff at the hotel are super friendly and accommodating. We booked two tours through the hotel and the guides were great. Both tours were early am ~8 and that was perfect because we beat the crowds. 10/10 would recommend.
