"The town of San Ignacio is one of the capitals of rainforest tourism in Belize, and the surrounding area is home to a couple of great eco-lodges. Among the in-town options, however, there’s nothing quite like the San Ignacio Resort Hotel. We stayed as a family of 5 in one of the suites and it was perfect with young children. It had two pullout couches, one was more comfortable than the other, but our 5-year old slept just fine on it! ||The staff were great and extremely friendly and helpful our whole trip! Freddy at check in was super nice, and Alejandro with concierge was also extremely helpful. The best was Edvin- he took care of us and our kids continuously complimented how nice he was! ||While staying here, we did the iguana project and kids and adults really enjoyed it. It is small, and perfect for a short tour. We also did the Xunantunich and Big Rock Falls with Cruz. Cruz was so knowledgeable and passionate about the Mayan history. We chose to do the Calico Jack zipline tour also. Our kids loved this trip! It was a little expensive, and definitely didn’t have the safety standards you would find in the States, but never felt unsafe and guides were patient and kind. Both our girls (5 and 7) did tandem zipline the entire time with them. ||Overall great resort and would recommend again!

5 PLUS Stars..... San Ignacio Resort Hotel was absolutely AMAZING — one of the best stays we’ve had. The property is beautiful, the rooms are comfortable, and the staff is genuinely warm and helpful. They were amazing in every way: friendly, attentive, and proactive without ever being pushy. Every time we had a question or needed anything, they handled it quickly and made us feel genuinely taken care of. Everything from check-in to the grounds to the overall service was top-notch. The location was also PERFECT — easy walking distance to downtown and the market, which made it so convenient to explore. We did have one small mistake during dinner one night, but what really stood out was how management handled it. They owned it immediately, apologized, and went above and beyond to make it right. That level of care says everything. We stayed in the Royal Suite and LOVED it — spacious, comfortable, and the perfect place to relax after a full day of exploring.

This hotel is spectacular. We stayed here for 4 days and everything from the front dest staff to the on site tours and restaurant were perfection. Nadir at the front desk was always there to help with our every need. Brian was our guide for the critters of the night tour and the green iguana tour and he was so knowledgeable and passionate. Cesar at the restaurant was so kind and provided excellent service. The rooms were spotless and the grounds are breathtaking. I would highly recommend staying here. Warning be prepared for the hill.

Beautiful hotel and wonderful staff! I want to shoutout Desire who gave me the best massage of my life!! I got the deep tissue and she was incredible- felt so relaxed and rejuvenated afterwards. Booked a few tours through the hotel as well and those all were amazing experiences. Transportation and food included, plus the tour guides are extremely knowledgeable. Even the drivers were so friendly and welcoming! My partner and I had the pleasure of driving with Santos (on the way) and Ramiro (while leaving), a father/son duo. They have the best vibes with plenty of recommendations of food/nature activities/etc while in Belize!

My husband and I spent our Christmas at San Ignacio Resort Hotel and can't speak highly enough of our experience. I broke down details below but must give some shout-outs: Shout out to Velma and the Georges who were great at guest services and the concierge desk. You are the kindest and most gracious to every guest. Thank you to Desiree for a great spa experience. Thank you to Santos for being an angel walking among us and the best bird walk, creatures of the night tour, and hotel shuttle driver in-one that a guest could ask for. Amazing guide! And kudos to Brian (Bryan?) who led the Green Iguana Project tour for us. Impeccable vibes, and very knowledgable. Thank you San Ignacio Resort Hotel for making our honeymoon great even in the rain. We hope to come back to Belize to see even more.

We had a wonderful stay at San Ignacio Resort and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a five-star experience in San Ignacio. Both the tours we did with Renan and Cruz were exceptional experiences. Everyone at the resort were attentive to all our needs and made us feel right at home. The food is also amazing and was hard to not want to dine there every night. Would recommend checking our San Ignacio town as well for the whole culture experience of Belize. It’s within walking distance or they are very accommodating with shuttles if needed. Definitely consider booking the plunge pool room, had a private backyard with a mini-pool.

We had the pleasure of staying at the San Ignacio Resort on Friday and Saturday evenings as they graciously hosted the Belize Wildlife Clinic Annual Gala. From the reservation to the check out every staff member was outstanding! They greet you with a smile and are very attentive to your every need or question. Definitely do the Iguana tour at the resort and be sure to have at least a few meals at the resort as their food is amazing! Get the avocado toast for breakfast and your tastebuds will thank you! The location is perfect for navigating San Ignacio (not easy as there is little to no parking other than the resort). Rooms are beautifully decorated and super clean with every amenity you could want. The entire resort is peaceful with a very serene calming atmosphere. And, the true kind attitude of every staff member will make you feel right at home!
