Explore St. Lucia's Culinary Culture With Nina Compton

"A casual, open-air Soufrière eatery run by a mother-daughter team that serves seasonal, locally sourced traditional Lucian dishes in a homey style. The spread includes saltfish and breadfruit fritters, sticky guava chicken wings, seasoned pork chops, grilled chicken, freshly roasted mahi mahi in tomato Creole sauce, eggplant lentil salad, dasheen (taro) purée, and familiar Caribbean sides such as creamy potato salad, mashed root vegetables and fried sweet plantains—an embodiment of farm-to-table, comfort-driven island cooking." - Von Diaz

"Locally owned and operated, Martha's offerstasty, home-cooked food fromthepleasant covered porch of a private home, in a roadside location handy toSugar Beach and numerous attractions. Martha's draws resort guests out of their comfortable rooms and creates a deliciousdetour for thoseon their wayto visitnearby Sulphur Springs. Plates—heaped with breadfruit balls, fish cakes, panfried chicken or pork, or creole shrimp, and accompanied byat least three to four sides—are served at picnic tables. The prices are quitereasonable."

Found this little gem as one of the rare restaurants around soufriere that was actually open when Google stated it to be open. Fresh home cooked meal hit the spot after hiking tet Paul nature trail. As long as you're not in a hurry (it's island time) then Martha's is definitely worth the stop. Flavorful pork chop had a mild spicy sweet BBQ flavor that paired perfectly with the baked mac and cheese. Spicy creole shrimp was just as good if not better.

Martha's Tables provides delicious local cuisine at a reasonable price. They're only open for lunch and well worth the trip. I had the fish of the day which was delicious, as were all the sides included with the meal. My lunch also included the best potato salad I've ever had which was a pleasant surprise.

Food is so good! We got the shrimp plate and it had so much variety to it. It had mac and cheese, coleslaw, potato salad, plantains, and rice and all of it was yummy. I will say, if you're on a time crunch you may want to skip this restaurant. It's worth the wait but it does take a long time to come out.

Great place to stop and eat lunch after hiking petit piton. Food portions are generous and so yummy. Martha's special sauce is a must!

Nice Creole lunch near sugar beach. Reasonable than the resorts nearby. You get mains between 40 to 65 EC and appetizers for 15 to 20 EC. Nice mother daughter duo running the place from 12 noon to 3 pm daily. This is a lunch place...so plan accordingly as this place is not open during dinner hours

Lovely atmosphere, service and food! The ladies working here are very welcoming and had good recommendations. I tried the fresh homemade sorrel juice and garlic prawns, both were delicious I am so glad we found this wonderful place. My partner is vegetarian and we both had wonderful meals here and really enjoyed getting to try local creole food. The food portions are very generous and we had a lovely selection of aubergine, plantain, carrots, rice, green banana, kale, potato salad, macaroni cheese, potato salad and beans. Plenty for both vegetarians and meat eaters! The prices are also very reasonable and we spent around 32USD for two people for all of our food and drinks

Our last meal in St. Lucia couldn’t have been better! We both loved our food, especially the barbecue sauce pork ribs—so flavorful and absolutely delicious. I had the prawns with garlic butter sauce and the fish of the day (tuna), with creole sauce, served with potato salad and macaroni—such great value! And SUPER DELICIOUS! The lady who served us was always smiling and so friendly, making the experience even more enjoyable. Tip: Go there at 12pm, as it will get busy and the service can be a bit slow. As they have limited staff!

We loved our lunch at Martha's table. The food was absolutely delicious. As others might have mentioned, no need to call for a reservation, but I would imagine it helps. Our server was so friendly and the outdoor seating area was very comfortable with a gentle breeze the entire time. We stopped here after a trip to the Piton's waterfall and hot-springs just up the street. We both had the typical St. Lucian lunch, but this was made with much more love and flavor than other places we went to during our trip. The rum punch is a must and the hospitality was fantastic.
