Kometen Brood & Cafe

The shop was really small but the pastry was delicious. It is located in the north part of the city near a residential aerea. The service is fast. There is some place to sit but it's we didnt figure out of it wasnt possible to stay inside and have a coffee.

I visited this café in Amsterdam, which seemed to bake their own bread and croissants. The place was quite busy, with lots of people coming in for breakfast, so we expected a lively but pleasant experience. My friend and I ordered coffee, a croissant, and a cookie. After sitting for about twenty minutes and waving several times to get someone’s attention, a staff member finally came over to take our order. About ten minutes later, the coffees arrived, a bit on the cold side, unfortunately. We finished our drinks, and only twenty minutes after that (again, with plenty of hand-waving and reminders), the second part of our order , the croissant and the cookie , finally showed up. To be fair, both tasted really good. What I found amusing was how incredibly fast they were when it came to bringing the bill , excellent efficiency at that stage! 😅 Overall, it’s not a place to relax or enjoy a slow morning. It feels more like a grab-and-go spot for people on their way to work or class, not somewhere to sit and spend quality time.

I was visiting Amsterdam from Colorado, USA last week and some friends and I stumbled across this spot for breakfast. On our 5 day trip this was by far the best place we had eaten at the entire trip. The vibes and aesthetic of this cafe were 10/10! The sourdough bread here was some of the best bread I’ve ever had the pleasure of eating, the fried eggs were perfectly cooked, and the Stolwijker cheese was the perfect touch to making one of the most delicious meals with my time in Amsterdam. 11/10 highly recommend!

One of my new favorites spots for lunch in Noord! You can sit outside on the terrace in the sun, magnificent! The food is high quality with unique combinations such as the mushroom toast with granola topping. They are also selling whole loafs of bread which are great to take home. The prices are very reasonable. Recommended for sure!

Nice spot to relax with a good atmosphere. We tried the almond croissant and the raspberry croissant—both were delicious and freshly made. We also ordered a flat white and an iced latte macchiato, but unfortunately, the coffee didn’t quite live up to the same standard. Worth a visit for the pastries, but not the best place if you’re after a great cup of coffee

Fantastic place for an early Sunday breakfast. I ordered the Kometen Breakfast and the bread was fantastic, the croissant beautiful and tasty, as was the coffee. The staff is very friendly and it’s nice to see the bakery itself. All in all: great place!

Fantastic bread, extremely tasty place to have brunch. Atmosphere is super nice but so busy and it’s the other patrons who make bring the atmosphere down. People taking tables while others are waiting in line, people shoving their way through to the front of the line in the shop etc. This could be controlled a bit better by the staff and it would make for a more enjoyable experience. In the shop a proper queue would be nice rather than the chaos it is every time I’ve gone to buy bread

Very nice concept bakery, great coffee, the oat milk was also nice, and top croissant, Focaccia is amazing spongy, but a recommendation would be set it in oven for 2 min before serving, a warm focaccia will be the cherry on top of the cake. Definitely worth to pit stop.
