We popped in for a quick drink and a snack. Loved the vibe! The Halloween decorations were fun, and the atmosphere was chill. Drinks were on point, and the chicken wings were tasty and juicy. The only miss was the calamari, which was a bit too dry and didn’t feel very fresh. Still, a great spot to hang out and I’d definitely come back to try more!

I have throughout the year been eating on and off at Bungalow 8, always with family. As a pescatarian, I always found a variety of amazing options. The Fish & Chips and Barramundi (the previous recipe with Asian noodles, not the revised one) were something to die for. We used to visit for dinner at least twice a month - easy walk from my Kent St. apartment. The decline started from around October 2025. While service remained good, the cooking standards and portion sizes started to dwindle. In November, I was thoroughly disappointed with the small portion / ultra-thin cut of the newly introduced tuna. But, the rock-bottom was tested today, on NYE. I ordered my old favourite Fish & Chips to celebrate bidding farewell to 2025. I moved to Sydney from Singapore, where culinary standards are high, but I never found top-notch Fish & Chips there. I have always loved the Fish & Chips in Australia, viz. the batter being nicely puffed and crisp, the fish inside being succulent and fresh, piping hot, perfectly cooked, yet not the least oily. And, amongst all the places, my vote always went to Bungalow 8 for rustling up the best. Today, however, It was pathetic; it was shockingly oily, with oil all over the plate, oozing, dripping out of the fried fish - see photo. In the first place, this change of serving one hunk of a fillet as opposed to two nicely manageable, leaner fillets - which started in November - didn’t win my support. Still, I didn’t bother much, as long as the total weight of fish remained similar and the dish tasted right! Imagine my disappointment today at being served fish that was soaked wet in oil. Crowded lunch hour? Not really … at 12:30 pm, although it’s NYE, it wasn’t that crowded. New chef? Who knows … maybe standing in for the main one who’s off on break? Whatever the reason, shame on you, Bungalow 8, for serving that dish and daring to call it Fish & Chips!!! All I can say is that you have your work well cut out, if you have any desire to recover old standards. Otherwise, it’s just a matter of time before that rating slips below 4.

A great vibe and DJ we spent time Sat, night it was just 2 of us and we loved and enjoyed the e vibe to the most. Music was so good, we had ordered a plate of food was delicious. The cocktails and the drinks were beautiful. Very popular club 2 separate levels we were mostly upstairs.

Bungalow 8 absolutely delivered an unforgettable night — the live band was the highlight! From the moment they hit the stage, the energy in the place completely lifted. The musicians were incredibly talented, with tight vocals and great chemistry that kept the crowd dancing and singing along all night. It felt like a proper concert with an intimate, laid-back vibe. The band played a fantastic mix of hits — from funk and soul classics to upbeat pop and rock anthems — all with their own unique twist. You could tell they were seasoned performers who knew how to read the room and keep everyone engaged. They weren’t just playing music — they were putting on a show. The venue itself is perfect for live music. The sound quality was excellent, not too loud but powerful enough to make you feel immersed. And the waterfront location adds something really special — the views, the breeze, and the open-air vibe gave it that true Sydney nightlife feel. Add to that the friendly bar staff, solid drink selection, and good crowd, and it made for an epic night. Highly recommend catching a live set at Bungalow 8 if you're in the area — it's the kind of place that turns a casual evening into something memorable.

What a vibe, especially the Pianist. However I found the drinks a bit expensive. But still try it with your friends, you'll love it. If you register online, u get a free drink.

Thanks for the wonderful night. We had a great time at our function on Saturday the 21st of June. The service was great, Gee was lovely - Thankyou for putting in the effort for the decor - the pastel coloured flowers and the candles - also for getting the Av sorted. We had plenty of food, and everything was well organised. I don’t remember the name of the other lady - who was managing as well - she was great too. Thanks again.

We came to Kings Wharf for the Vivid Light cruise and naturally came close to two hours early. So we ended up exploring the area looking for a place to grab a drink. I settled on Bungalow 8 as it was slightly less crowded than some of the other nearby bars-- although still very crowded. Overall, I did not care for this place. I enjoyed the live DJ/music and ample tables/seating. But the measured and overpriced drinks were a downer. Not to mention that the mixer in my first drink was wrong. The biggest irritant though was when we first got there. We were about 9 or 10 in line at the bar. Finally, after about 10 minutes, we were up next and another bartender came and waived his hand signaling he could take an order. I was walking over to him since we were next when another customer just walked over from the patio and started ordering. And of course the bartender took his order although clearly he wasn't in line. That sealed the deal for me and started my experience off on the wrong foot. The bartender could've been professional and signaled over the next person in line instead of generally suggesting anyone could come over.

We stopped here for a few beers ahead of a Sydney Harbor Dinner Cruise. Staff were friendly and beer was cold and tasty.

We didn't come for food, but definitely will try next time when in Aussie. Views are beautiful from here - we came for a night out with cousins and although the music wasn't our cup of tea, it was definitely a vibe once the drinks started kicking in. We sat outside where the music was playing facing the Harbour. It got a bit chaotic at the bar later once it got super crowded and it seemed that the bartenders couldn't keep up & their system is a little weird with opening a tab and using a diff card to keep track. Other than that, it was definitely a fun night out.

@Bungalow8 on King Street Wharf transformed into a luxury ski resort with comfy wooden chalets and comfort food menu to matchPerfect spot for afternoon drinks and epic bar food. . What we ate: - 1/2 dozen scallops in a garlic butter sauce - Split Yamba prawns with ancho chili and lime - Warm smoked hummus with roasted mushrooms - Japanese corn dogs with kewpie mayo, bbq sauce and bonito flakes - Skillet s'mores - Pepperoni pizza: tomato, smoked mozzarella, oregano and drizzled honey - Almond & Ricotta pizza (VE): fried chickpeas, chimmichurri, radicchio - Grey Goose espresso martini - Grey Goose, St Germain elderflower, lime and soda - Alpine iced tea: Grey Goose, honey mead, blueberries and rosemary

I walked down to the end of the waterfront restaurants at Kings Wharf and found Bungalow 8 there. It was quiet, a Sunday night, and I needed to kill an hour or two and get some food. So in I went. Pleasant enough. I got a steak and chips, which were fine. I had a glass of wine, which was fine. The outside area was nice, even at night, with the heaters on. I reckon it'd be a fun spot with a big group.

Generally a good bar in a nice location, however on my visit on Saturday 27th I had a rather strange encounter with one the door staff whilst queuing to gain entry. I was asked if I had a booking, to which I replied "no I've turned up on spec" but she (blonde girl on the door) didn't seem to know what "spec" meant? Then this was immediately followed up with "how many drinks have you had" to which I replied "zero" as it was around 6pm and this was the first bar of the night. I got in without any problems after this but the whole encounter seemed so unnecessary and totally weird. The girl who operates on door seems to have a limited vocabulary and extremely poor judgement of a person's level of intoxication, particularly if she's asking sober people how many they have had to drink. Maybe this was a one off encounter or maybe she's incompetent.

Food gone off, drinks very expensive - We used to love going to Bungalow 8, at the end of King street Wharf. Admittedly, not been since the rest of Barangaroo opened up. Went last night and was not good and will not return. The food menu is ok, but nothing to write home about. The burger I had was rather overcooked. The other items were on the pricey side for what they were, and the ""starter"" came out after we were 1/2 way through the main. Then there was the wine.... You can only see what they have on the ap, but 1) you can't then use that to order to the table, nor does the ap show you the prices for any bottles (only a per glass then a + sign). So, had to go to the bar and ask for the prices for a bottle for a couple of options. Was taken aback at the price....pricier than a full service sit down mid-to-high end restaurant in the CBD - certainly beyond even city pub prices. (Went and checked today and was over 5 times price of retail...not even wholesale. Expect 3-4 times the price for a mark up - 5 times - that's starting to take the proverbial for a non table service restaurant.) We were only there because we were ravenous and could not get served at a few others we tried without a 40 minute wait (it was 8pm on a Wednesday evening during Vivid and to note, the places we were told there was a 40 minute wait for any food were maybe 25-30% full only). Next time we will go hungry. You'd think with the additional competition of Barangaroo, they would keep trying, it seems not.

As a bar/pub, awesome! Great place to Chillax with friends and do some drinking! For food though, it really depends on your day. If the place gets busy, don't expect much. One thing I do quite like is the mussels night! Definitely worth a try! My rating is for food (pub food), NOT for the venue or general atmosphere. I think it's a great place for a Friday night, but can get way too loud.

Bungalow 8 is one of those places where an afternoon can easily turn into an evening. Set at the end of Cockle Bay Wharf, the water views set the scene especially if the sun is shining. The bar easily flows from the inside out to a large open courtyard which is a perfect place for a long lunch. By night, this place is packed with people enjoying the end of the working week with a couple (and a couple more) drinks. On Tuesdays, Bungalow 8 does all you can eat mussels ($21.50) which has a steady crowd every week. There are five flavours to choose from - my pick is the Provencale which is fresh tomato and bacon- plus you get a side of fries and bread. Hard to go by if you're looking for a Tuesday cheap eat.

Food tasted fine (average). I was so annoyed at hidden fees applied to the check. Advertised as $25 Sunday dinner. Oh, did we mention the $10 Sunday food surcharge added to EVERY meal? Don't advertise one thing; if there's a $10 surchage, make that abundantly clear. The meal was NOT worth $35, it was barely worth the base $25...

Absolutely terrible establishment. First, this venue sold two from our group a bottomless margarita package for 2hrs without food for $40. When another person on the group tried to get the same package they were told the only package available was a bottomless taco and margarita package with tacos for $60 for 2hr and that they were actually not allowed to sell it without tacos. After some discussion the third person was sold a the 2hrs of bottomless margaritas for $40 starting at 1:36pm. At 3:22pm this person was then told that their coloured band (given to show you had purchased a bottomless margarita package) was no longer accepted even though there was still 14 minutes left in a two hour package. With the staff stating that the two hours started at 1pm (a designated time slot) however this was never communicated to the third person when they purchased a two hour package. In addition, to this the staff were rude and condescending calling a woman darling and sweetie. In short, do not go here for 2 hours of bottomless anything as you will be ripped off.

If I could sum up a Bungalow 8 experience in 2 words they would be overpriced and underwhelming. This is not a bar, it's more of a nightclub that does food. I am not a club person. The food is pretty average and terribly overprced. The drink selection is ordinary. The music is too loud to allow conversation and the place is packed with suits looking to score. If you want an after hours meat market than go to Bungalow 8. You will probably love the cheap tropical theme, blaring TV's, loud music and crowd of drunk people on the pull. If you want somewhere to go an have a chat with friends and unwind after work, go elsewhere.

Great location to have drinks and enjoy the view. Somewhat far away from the fireworks. Large selection of beer/drinks. Indoor and outdoor seating. Somewhat crowded on the weekend but not overwhelming.

Bring on Summer! Can't wait til December when I can hang out in my fave after-work, outdoor watering holes - Opera Bar, Cruise and Bungalow 8, to name a few. There is truly something magical about the combination of water views, sunsets, hot weather and cold beers lol. This place has been around for ages, but its a goodie. The food ain't bad either, from both Friday night and catering perspective. I once had a Christmas party here where the whole place was booked out, and it is still one of my fave corporate parties ever. So c'mon summer, come earlier, c'mon you can do it!

Having not grown up in Sydney and looking at the entire city with outsider eyes, I can honestly say that Bungalow 8 is essentially all the stereotypes of Sydney in one venue. Between Bungalow 8 and Cargo it seems that 90% of the city's 20-somethings are located within the block as soon as the weather gets over 25 degrees. It's a great venue with lovely views and delicious drinks... but if you're over 30 expect to spontaneously start beginning sentences with things like 'when I was their age...' and 'kids these days don't know...' If you're under 30 you better be okay with the cliched 20s crowd otherwise I can't imagine this will be your cup of tea.

Nothing fancy here at Bungalow 8, but it gets the job done if you're looking for some drinks after work. Your typical bar right on King Street Wharf/Darling Harbour. A bit overpriced and clientele being somewhat questionable. The lunch menu has improved, but not enough for me to make my way out to Bungalow 8. Drinks are decent and I feel if you're already in the area then it wouldn't hurt to stop by. I wouldn't necessarily plan my next party or gathering here.

This bar is a typical Sydney bar/club on a Friday. If the kids rant at ivy or argyle - be sure to find them at bungalow 8. Nothing fancy, crowd depends on the night. The drinks are somewhat over priced but highly recommend the cocktail jugs. The music is generally good. The bouncers need to learn some manners.

Thought at first it was going to be loud and packed - turned out to be the perfect place to go to catch up with friends - lovely setting with booths and bar tables - TV was on but not overpowering - really enjoyable evening.

The bartender was rude to me after asking me to put on a jacket ( was wearing a singlet). He refused to serve once I actually had my jacket on. I would not do business here again.

The staff at Bungalow 8 were rude right from the start. The door staff made a sly passing comment regarding the area my friends were visiting from. The bar staff were unprofessional and rude also. When I spoke to the manager, he was incredibly rude and didn't care at all. With so much competition around- take your business elsewhere.

I can't speak to the day-time fare of Bungalow 8 - I've only ever visited after 9pm. The night club atmosphere inside is juxtaposed with the warm seating areas outside, which is nice if you're like me and need to sit down when the RnB starts. It's also quiet enough to chat outside - so a good place to drink and mingle. Last time I went they had a live drum-kit supporting the DJ which was cool. 8/10 would go again.

It's a brilliant after work bar and restaurant but if you want any more than light bites you're better off going somewhere else. My burger was swimming in grease as was the chicken wings. Having said that I will be going back because it's brilliant for drinks on the weekend and the location is perfect.

A very funky bar, feels like you're on summer holidays, bamboo and wooden decor, sea views and friendly staff. Perfect for a summers night drink! Nice cocktail jugs too!

In recent times Darling Harbour's Bungalow 8 has established itself as one of the most popular Sydney city nightspots for 20 to 30 something's. On my recent venture into the Bungalow I discovered why. Bungalow 8's strongest feature is its atmosphere. The large outdoor deck area with a well fuelled heating system allows patrons to abandon their scarves and coats on a cold winter's night, effectively creating illusions of summer and schoolies, as groups sit at large tables (which can be booked), sharing cocktails served in plastic buckets. The crowd is a mix of casual and corporate, but the general mood is unpretentious, friendly and relaxed. Bungalow 8 serves well as a place to gather for a party as it encourages a laid back, let your hair down feel which the crowd embraces progressively through the night as they dance to retro 90's music, the party vibe is promoted further when the DJ is accompanied by a live drummer. The service is friendly and professional, further allowing patrons to relax and feel comfortable. The food is tasty but not exceptional, it is basically high quality pub food: Steak, fish and Thai salads, priced at what you would expect for the venue; if you want nouveau cuisine, you're better off to go to a restaurant. My only real criticism of Bungalow 8 is their kitchen closed too early. 9PM closing time might be appropriate for your average restaurant, but for a nightspot encouraging people to stay out all night, food should be available later, especially when you need something to soak up those buckets of booze. Recently I walked into a restaurant in Beijing at 1:30 am and many people were ordering dinner and this was not an isolated experience. Come on Sydney catch up with the rest of the world! Overall Bungalow 8 delivers a fun night out, whether for a Friday night after work gathering, a party with friends or a warm up for a big night ahead at one of the larger nightclubs. I certainly had a good time and would venture back in future escapades.

Big night out with the Budgie Smugglers, took me here. These guys are ironmen, they really push past the limits of strength and resistance training and they were out on the grog which meant for a load of frivolity. We were there on a Thursday night, so there were only about 20 people for what is usually a very busy pub/nightclub. These guys were let into the bar which usually expects suits and well dressed people to enter, in their swimming truncks. It was hilarious they were dancing around the dance floor, the only ones on the floor and I stood back and took many a photo. I've come here before on a Saturday night and it was packed, we had to line up and all, the bar is very busy and you have to push past the milliards of people. There is a large outdoor area which over looks the harbour and the music is the best of commercial dance music. I remember having a great time dancing it up with my friend on the very crowded dance floor. This place is good for gettting up close and personal to fun loving party animals. Usually a place where you get business men wind down before it gets all wild.

If this place was not so conveniently located, there is no way they would be able to get away with the service my friends and I (a group of 10 girls) received last night. I ordered food at 10pm, received my food at 10:10 and the waitress says "just so you know, I have to take the plate back at 10:30"... So weird, but I was starving so didn't argue. I get a few bites in and another waiter comes up and says he has to move all 10 of us bc they want to open up room on the dance floor. We argue for about 5 min before we are forced to move (drink and plate in hand) outside. No sooner do I sit down, another waitress comes up to me and says "you're not allowed to eat outside its the smoking area"... This is after the waiter said he would make an exception for me since our table had to be moved. I argue some more. She's goes away. I take a few more bites and she comes back and says "it's 10:30, I need your plate back." I was pretty upset at this point so I asked for the manager. The manager says he understands my frustration and apologises for the lack of communication with his staff. But does not comp the food I was unable to finish or offer me a drink to make up for their rude waitress and unorganised staff. Really really disappointed!!!!

Over priced food unless you buy the happy hour meals.. but my primary gripe with this place is the crap service, you literally have to line up for 15 mins for a drink, how hard can to be to get this right?!?!

cute little outdoor/indoor place to mingle and get some awesome finger foods, seafood and meet locals, but come here during the summer cause it gets freezing cold/windy.
