Humboldt Lagoons State Park

Went here last winter and it was beautiful. A lot of lagoons to visit but the trails can be very long and confusing if you are not familiar with the area. Its a sacred site to the native Americans and should be respected.

I absolutely love this beach. It is one of my favorite places when i come to the area. Unfortunately right now the road is blocked off and you have to walk a mile in. The facilities are in need of some servicing. Still one of my favorites.

(4.5⭐️) It's such a wonderful place, so majestic! It has a lot of access points to the river and hiking trails. The avenue of the giants was a beautiful. My complaint is more about the people that pass by/ camp there. I am interested to know why is it difficult for them to pee in the toilet, flush the toilet, clean after themselves, pick up their trash, or even be respectful of nature? Anyway, I will be back soon!

I really enjoyed the beach here. We saw a seal bodysurfing the waves near the shore, a couple dolphins in the distance, a sea lion swimming, and lots of pelicans. It wasn't too windy either. Parking is limited and we saw the state park rangers leaving after having given tickets to a few cars who weren't in official parking spots. There are two pit toilets which were not the best, but not the worst.

Gorgeous views, calm and peaceful waters, and a chance to see some elk. Most people drive through these lagoons to visit other state parks, but have you ever stopped and taken a walk along the sand bar between the lagoon and the ocean? There are places to picnic, kayak, and explore in these gorgeous lagoons (yep, lagoons, not just lagoon). GO see for yourself how beautiful it is here. Each lagoon is different and has its own unique beauty.

I didn't see where to pay, but apparently, there is a $6 fee. I rented the library state park pass for free. No service

My daughter and I ran the Dry Lagoon trail out to Stone Lagoon and back...and explored some side trails an the way back. The trails are a little overgrown, but they don't distract from the beautiful vistas.

This place is great, I love it. There is so much to appreciate about the whole area with a serene natural beauty and many surprises along the beaches and some inland as well.

Humboldt Lagoons State Park is on the Redwood Coast between Orick and Trinidad. There are three lagoons - Big Lagoon, Stone Lagoon, and Freshwater Lagoon. These lagoons are a collection of landlocked waters right on the coast but protected from the Pacific Ocean. You can rent kayaks and paddleboards at Stone Lagoon Visitor Center. I stopped by Stone Lagoon to rest after a long day of driving to chill and relax.

We had such an amazing time at the state park. Great scenery with rock formations. The washed up driftwood was good. We had such a great time looking for agate and different types of rocks. Great stop.

Beautiful, quiet beach part of Humboldt Lagoons State Park. It was a cool, misty, grey, overcast day when I visited. There were about 10 cars parked here. Even then, it still intimate, remote. I saw a few other folks - but way off in the distance. Great place to stop, chill, enjoy the ocean, and listen to the sounds of the beach! There is a restroom facility here, but it's not well maintained. #HumboldtLagoonsStatePark

This huge lagoon is a great place to kayak. The waters here are usually pretty calm and there is plenty of parking for vehicles, as well the access to the water to load/unload water craft is great. This park is also dog friendly - either on lease or under voice command, just no free roaming. You will often find people kayaking here and in the summer months it can even be busy, Lots of great water to explore and get out onto here, and a plethora of wildlife abounds. Lots of migratory waterfowl as well as critters of various sizes and types running around, and the flora surrounding this area is and can be amazing at times. Loaded with wildflowers during the blooming months. This is a great state park to visit, even if just to get out and stretch your legs on a long drive. Well worth a drive up to to get out onto the water and one of the best places around to kayak on huge calm waters. On my dog's vacation (I was just along for the ride, honestly), I was in search of beaches in the area that were dog-friendly and where he could run and play to his heart's content. This place came highly recommended and it was just lovely. I came on a day that was jaw-droppingly gorgeous, blue skies, no wind, very few people, etc. Stunning. Wish you were here! PRO TIP: Bring a picnic lunch, just make sure you clean up after yourself and your dog!

Beautiful, serene beach awaits at the end of the road. At 8 in the morning, we were nearly the only ones there. There was one other car in the parking lot we assumed belong to the far distant figures of a man and his dog. We merely stopped to stretch our legs and let the kids run around and rock climb on the beach. Blackberry bushes line the road and the edge of the parking lot. There were plenty to eat in mid August. Definitely worthy of a stop and a long walk along the beach if you have the time.
