Pensta エキュート上野店 Cafe Area

Lovely cafe for Suica Penguin lover. Please don’t have expectation on the food as it tastes quite awful. The pancake is the worst one I have ever tried in Japan. The royal milk tea is pretty much tasteless. However they sell very cute souvenirs in good quality so it still worths a visit. Located at the paid area of Ueno Station.

If you're a Suica Penguin fan, you must check out Pensta Café at JR Ueno Station! The atmosphere is sooo cute, with Suica-themed decor all around. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. I ordered the Blended Tea and really enjoyed it—it was perfect for a cold, rainy morning (I visited in early April). Right next to the café is a merchandise shop filled with all kinds of Suica goodies. If I remember correctly, there were plushies, socks, pouches, and more. The staff there were just as friendly and helpful. I ended up spending around 30 minutes circling the shop, trying to decide what to buy—it was hard to choose!

If the Suica penguin (Pensta) has captured your heart, then this gift shop/cafe is a must! There was an assortment of Suica/Pensta themed goods (e.g., apparel, stationery, dishware, and more). All so cute! The shop/cafe was a little hard to find. It is in the JR Ueno Station, right next to the Iriya ticket gate. You have to tap in and enter the ticketed area.

Come here if 1- you like suica or 2- you want a nice place to sit and have coffee on the station. The coffee is not all that good, the cafe latte seemed a little cold to me. However its nice inside and the cups are cute. I dont think i would order food here

Amazing cafe! Food is to die for the music is chill and it also has a cute gift shop inside. Google maps directions are a bit iffy. If you enter ueno station via the panda bridge entrance, through the ticket gates and its on the right!

Pensta is the official cafe of the notorious penguin of the Suica card. The penguin is cute and the food not bad at all, especially their desserts.

Full star for cuteness! Many Suica goods here. Food was so so and I visited just for Suica. Price was ok for themed cafe. Don’t have to tap out of station.

Interesting cafe in the JR station with cafe and nice souvenir shop. There are other better coffee out there but at least they have seats where you could rest. Their cartoon and other interior decorations could also pique your interest.
