Gym review
Promo price good for the location. Med/small gym excellent for barbell and functional fitness. Cash only, bring exact change. Just one "room". Entrance at side of building, up to second floor. Not many machines, and the plate loaded ones they have are not my favourite. Has some interesting equipment for lifting. Has AC and fans - surprisingly adequate for cooling. As in not overly humid and probably around 25c. Very happy to have this type of gym that is not cookie cutter and is accessible by day pass. One speaker for music that was thankfully not overly loud, somehow the perfect volume.
Equipment:
3 squat rack / cages
1 ssb bar, 1 camber bar (not for bench press), 1 swiss bar
1 smith machine
2 bench press
2 deadlift platform, deadlift pads
Hex bar and deadlift jack, and barbell stands
Benches and dumbbells (no fixed barbells)
Dumbbells are an assorted mix, a lighter weight set and a heavy set up to 100lbs. One 55kg db. Some missing intervals.
Plate loaded curl bars (straight and curved)
Back extension stand
Hip thrust stand
Split squat stands
Plate loaded: hack squat, leg press, chest press (honestly not a good machine because no deep stretch), iso row, overhead press.
1 sled and track
Stacks: abductor, standing calf raise, leg curl, leg extension, pec dec
Assisted pull up and dip station. Also have a cheap dip belt on it's last legs.
1 cable station / functional trainer with cross over, lat pull down, row and pull down. Good selection of attachments although I wish they had a better v-bar. Cables were smooth.
Cardio:
2 treadmills, 1 stairs, 1 recumbent bike, 1 air bike
Assorted mats and bands.
Good for my kind of workouts, but if you want machine based this is lacking. That being said it's hard to find this kind of gym with real weights so I like it. I thought the vibe was good, which was people minding their own business and coming here to work. Mix of travelers and locals. Adequate spray bottles.
Cash only. They didn't have change for my 1,000bht bill which was annoying.
My suggestions are get a nice dip belt, more $ change and maybe credit card processing. I would replace the chest press. The barbell storage is under some overhead pipes making it difficult to remove longer bars. The LED light above the pull-up bars on the functional trainer can be hit with your head if you can pull high, which most people don't.
Overall thumbs up.
