I would not come here if it is your first time in Salzburg, but if you have already seen the town and fortress, then visiting this place would not be a waste of time.
If you are going to listen to the information in the audioguide, put at least 3h for the visit! For just looking around, 2h should be enough.
The visit is organized as a one way route. There are few restrooms on the way.
Audiogiude is free and in several languages. You can check it on the museum website. There is a free wifi in the museum, mostly stable enough to listen all the stories.
The museum has a cloakroom and lockers. Lockers are spacious enough to put a standard handluggage trolley. I did not see a locker of a full suitcase size, but maybe there is one at a different entrance or you can try to ask people in the cloakroom to keep it, they seem quite helpful.
There is a coffee area close to the gallery with paintings. I am not sure if they have a large selection, but some basic bite you can have for sure.
