Museo Quinta de Bolívar

Wonderful (and free)! Right next to the base of Monserrate (good to pair both). Beautiful extensive gardens, and a duly preserved house filled with artifacts from Simon Bolivar’s life. If you like gardens and history then this is your stop. One of my favorite things I saw in Bogotá.

Amazing to see a part of history, Bolivar lived in this house 423 days.. well maintained and easy to walk around. While their we had the pleasure of observing kids on a field trip, and their teacher was an excellent source of information so important for children to learn about history.

The botanical garden is beautiful and feels like walking through time. It’s hard to believe this is in the middle of Bogota. A serene escape.

Really expensive museum and it is not that great. If you have extra time and happen to be around it is worth visiting.

A most see when in Bogotá. We had an amazing guide provided by the museum, truly knowledgeable. The gardens are an oasis with a huge diversity of trees , flowers and birds. All the Quinta is extremely well maintained. Truly a jewel.

I visited on a Wednesday afternoon and got free admission. What an amazing museum! It was fairly quiet, only a few other people there. The rooms are beautifully preserved and restored, and you get a very good feeling for what it was during Bolivar's life. The labyrinth garden was incredible, fresh air beautiful plants, and breathtaking stonework. It takes about an hour to see everything at a moderate pace.
