Get the Season Pass. It is worth it if you plan on visiting more than 1 time. All of the Rides are fun. The Food is pricey but it is edible. Parking is free with a season pass. If not parking is not free. This place is CASHLESS so bring your tap-pay or debit/credit cards with you.

This was my first time visiting the park in at least 20 years but as soon as I walked in I felt the nostalgia and all of the memories of those prior visits when my mom would take my brothers and I. This was my first time taking my own kids so I was super excited to create some new memories. The park was smaller than I remembered, but that turned out to be a good thing. Our hotel was directly across the street so we were able to get there almost right at opening time. We were able to ride all of the coasters that we wanted to, aside from the 2 that were closed. I mentioned the size of the park because we're used to going to Cedar Point, which is larger than Great America, which means more area to cover, which means faster fatigue. At Great America, I felt comfortable walking around the park all day and the rides were placed in a manner that seemed like you can get to the other side of the park in a few minutes. We went on a Saturday in July and the wait times were reasonable. The longest wait time for the most popular rides were listed as 60 minutes on the app, but it wasn't always accurate. We ordered all of our tickets, extras, and parking ahead of time through the website and the app. If you can, spring for the unlimited dining pass. Generally, two people can split a meal or snack every 90 minutes with drink refills every 15 minutes. We ate good and stayed hydrated. I definitely recommend that option. I had a wonderful time and if you plan it out properly, you will too. I look forward to my next visit.

I’ve been to a lot of fall and Halloween events, but this place really knows how to put on a show. From the second you walk through the gates, the atmosphere grabs you — fog rolling across the walkways, creepy music echoing through the park, and costumed scare actors lurking in just the right spots to make you jump when you least expect it. The haunted houses were well-designed and full of great special effects. Each one had its own personality — from eerie asylum vibes to full-blown zombie chaos. The makeup and costumes on the actors were impressive; you can tell the staff puts serious effort into making each scene believable and spine-tingling. Even walking around between rides, the themed zones kept the energy high. There’s something thrilling about riding a roller coaster at night with flashing lights and the sound of screams in the background! I also appreciated that the event felt organized despite the huge crowds. The park staff kept things moving, and most of the lines moved faster than expected for a big Halloween weekend. Security was visible but friendly, and I noticed plenty of sanitation and rest areas, which made a long night more enjoyable. That said, the food and drink prices were outrageous .We’re talking $15+ for a burger and fries, $6-$8 for bottled water or soda, and desserts that cost almost as much as a meal. I completely understand that theme parks mark up their food, but this felt excessive even by those standards. My advice: grab a meal before you go or plan for a splurge if you want to snack inside. Still, overall, Fright Fest is a must-see if you love Halloween thrills. The park goes all-in with its decorations, live shows, and creepy characters. Between the haunted mazes, the night rides, and the electric atmosphere, it’s worth the trip — just pack your own food and water. 🎃 9/10 for scares

We bought the season pass as we live an hour away from this place. Buying seasonal pass was the best decision because we could go all weekends and special days. Absolutely love their Halloween decorations and fright fest events. However, the fright fest rides/haunted house experience are an additional cost. You need to get a separate ticket even though you have seasonal pass or park fee. Worth visiting.

Great time with family and new friends! I didn't stay all day or go on all the rides, but I enjoyed my time walking around, spending time with family and was pretty surprised that there weren't more people when I was there... 😁👍 It was pretty clean and brought back some good memories from when I was younger and enjoying the park that's in California. Might have to take my son to the Florida location in the near future.

Great park with GREAT coasters. All employees were super nice and friendly! Ticket prices are not bad, but food & drinks are a bit stiff on cost. Worth it. Some of the best coasters I've rode! My family had a blast!!!

Six Flags Great America in Chicago was an unforgettable experience! I visited during spring, on Mother’s Day this year, and the atmosphere was amazing! lively, sunny, and full of good vibes. I managed to enjoy almost every major ride, and the park was super organized with friendly staff. Perfect weather, thrilling attractions, and a great overall experience. Totally recommend it!

A very well rounded park with a great collection of coasters. Lines can be long and operations are middle of the road. Food is very overpriced so i definitely would eat outside the park. However you can’t deny the sheer quality and quantity of great coasters here.

I would give Six Flags- Great America a solid 3.5 stars (rounded up to 4). The rides at Six Flags are fun- great coasters, fun theming, and definitely will fill the desire for a thrill ride. I was disappointed that Raging Bull and Maxx Force were closed when I came to visit (my two favorites) However Goliath was a great addition and so much fun! The lines here can be obscene; I still get flashbacks to waiting 2.5 hours for Superman in 2022; since then I will only go to Six Flags with either a Flash Pass or if able to attend a private afterhours events with shorter lines. The park could use some sprucing up, better food (very expensive price point), and more entertainment for waiting in lines (whatever happened to Looney Toons playing?). All and all, I will be back, had a fun time, and would recommend Six Flags if you are in near / Chicago or Milwaukee but it would be tough to justify driving more than 2 or so hours to go to without having another reason to be in the area.

This park should get zero stars but one is what I can get away with...lol Why the low score? Because this summer schedule of operations is hot garbage...This park is hardly open for the year...These are some of the worse hours I've ever seen for an amusement park. It's August and this dump is open for basically weekends only and it's middle of August...Huh Meanwhile parks all over the country are open all thru the week even into Sept. What's the problem?...Im guessing staffing issues. Well since I work on weekends and I don't have a car it's damn near impossible for me to get to and from on the crappy metra weekend schedule plus the days Great America is open they close pretty early. So what's left? Fright Fest in Oct where the tickets are insane high for low end crap haunt attractions that suck and still the park hours are garbage except for weekends. With these idiotic hours why would anyone in thier sane mind buy a season pass? Well unless you live in the housing areas right around the park...lol Seriously Great America get your hours in order for next year...If this is how Cedar Point is going to run the place then close just close it down like you are doing to other Six Flags parks. A park like Lost Lake in the middle of Iowa is open every day in August. Cedar Point is a great park but thier running of this park is crap at the moment...Thanks for building a new roller coaster for this year that will hardly operate and I won't get to ride...Morons!

Six flags is a LOT! You can Def go in to sensory overload because of the large crowds. We arrived early but the park just gets so crowded, you can easily spend hours here if you plan on doing multiple rides. The staff is nice, but mostly kids. Food, overpriced and subpar. But, the funnel cake is unmatched! Love that there are multiple restroom locations. We were able to catch bugs and daffy duck right as we entered the park, which was nice! Six flags is a great time, just a ton of walking, so be prepared and wear comfy shoes.

I had a pretty great time at Six Flags great America. As with any amusement park, the lines were pretty long, but we came on a day where it wasn't super packed so for most of the rides, we were able to move through pretty quickly, but as it got later on in the day and the rain completely went away. The lines got a lot longer. There were certain rides that were shut off, but they didn't really even announce it so it was a group of us waiting there to ride and we just happen to ask someone like what was taking so long and they mentioned it when they could've just had a sign up or something saying that it was closed. Also, one of the bathrooms was flooded when we went in there and it didn't seem like any staff was around to close it off or clean it up.

Well it is amazing to finally make it to this wonderful place to celebrate Halloween it was very nice decorated and with scary performers to make the park a scary place. Too bad it was raining but nevertheless I truly had a wonderful time and what can go wrong when you can eat the most delicious smoked turkey ever yum . For desert we had funnel cakes with ice cream delicious I will make it here during the summer

When I used to come here with my family (pre-high school), we were never allowed to eat anything or buy anything. When high school came and I had a license and a car, I got that season pass and still, never bought any food or spent any money at the park. Needless to say, the rides were awesome back then, no one had the internet in their hands, and waiting in line was an opportunity to hang out and meet people. This was in the early 90s. 30 years later and HOLY MOLY! The prices are completely outrageous, the lines are so long that you contemplate paying extra for a Flash Pass, and well, the rides are still awesome, but I'm too old and get vertigo, so I'm not really utilizing that part, but my son says he has many favorites. Here's the deal... if you like roller coasters and your family does as well, get the season pass and come out 2-3 times during the summer. You'll make the money back in parking alone. Regarding food, you can leave the park and hit Gurnee Mills for some good options and spend way less than if you ate in the park. The meal passes are a deal if you eat every 1.5 hours, but it's quite a lot to spend up front if you aren't a big eater. So be prepared to spend a fortune, but you can't put a price on memories. If you're not willing to spend the money on season passes, just skip this place and hit the mall.

I am not an overly large person, but I am wide and have a little bit of a gut. Maybe 20-30 pounds over? I'm also not tall, I'm 5'8 Went on a Sunday, the lines were terrible. Didn't fit on two roller coasters in a row. Nothing anywhere explaining that these rides have specific height weight and proportion requirements, I haven't been in an amusement park in 30 years and I fit in roller coasters back then. I've actually lost weight since then too. I don't know if you have to be an Oompa Loompa or what, was pretty bummed out, Staff was rude and unhelpful guest services was even more unhelpful. Wouldn't give me a refund even though I paid way too much for admission treated it like I was trying to get a free roller coaster day they kept seeming to miss the part where I couldn't ride on anything. It's entirely possible I could still fit on the old roller coasters but every line was 45 minutes plus and I didn't want to wait 45 minutes to maybe fit on a ride or not. Whole situation could have been handled better by Six Flags. The issue is not my weight like I know on the Batman ride no matter how much weight I'll lose the harness doesn't go over my shoulders. At least I got to enjoy this place when I was a kid, but I spent a lot of money on absolutely nothing

The weather was perfect and the park wasn't overly crowded -- yet somehow the lines were still long! Prices are outrageous, and honestly it doesn't look like much has been updated since I was here 10 years ago. Still, Six Flags will forever be a nostalgic childhood memory and that alone keeps me coming back.

Limited shade but a lot of fun, especially if you're into thrill rides. The workers seemed to be happy and the vibes were good, kinda outrageous food prices though.

From the tasty snacks to the variety of new rides, I remembered why I loved coming here as a kid. The park is well maintained with staff picking up trash and other items that may look like waste. All of the workers have been so positive throughout the day. It's early in the season and since they're still getting used to their positions, everything was moving smoothly considering! The food is tasty but runs on the expensive side so I recommend bringing a cooler to keep in the car and break for lunch midday, they have return entry hand stamps allowing this. They have A TON of shops and goodies galore!!

OMG...its not enough that Six Flags barely pays minimum wage, but they have to raise the price of employee meals . 50cent increase and no signs visible to announce the increase. Not to mention the food is often cold and soggy...and $2 cups of soda that cost that company about 10 cents per cup and refusing to allow refills...Lets hear it for a company that supports its workers and understand how tough this economy is for minimum wage employees....

10:56 pm My son experienced racial.profiling this evening. He was the only african American male in a group of 6 children. They left the park to eat at Burger King. When they returned he was stopped despite the fact that he had his hand stamped, and was told he could not get into the park unless he had a passport or drivers license. My son is 17 years old, he does not have his driver's license yet. He showed his school ID, and was still turned away. The other children in his group were able to go inside the park.

Great park with a ton of options for thrill seekers and ride chickens alike. The food, albeit expensive, is adequate for theme park food. I think the biggest con of this park is definitely the lines, which holds it back from being truly a top tier park. The lines can go up to 2 hours, especially on Superman, which is just absolutely ridiculous. Overall, this is a good park, and I will be coming again since its my home park.

I used to go to Six Flags Great America all the time, but I'm astonished to see how high the ticket prices are now. I guess at the gate the general admission is $90 but if you buy it online then it'll be $45-60. This all depends on if you go in May before the summer crowds flood the park. Parking prices for GA is $35. However, if you want speedy or preferred then you're looking at $40-50. This is very exorbitant and overinflated for what it is. Of course, you got the seasonal passes if you're planning on going frequently. Don't get me wrong, it's a great place to go to with friends or family, but there are better options for spending your money. If you do go here, I'll list some of the rides that are worth going on: Aquaman Splashdown, Goliath, Logger's Run, Raging Bull, Roaring Rapids, Superman, Vertical Velocity, and X Flight. I didn't go last year so unfortunately I wasn't able to test out Maxx Force. I'm just choosing the ones that are popular and will have long queues. Here are ones that I went on but were mid in my personal opinion: Battle for Metropolis, Dark Knight, and Joker. Here are some rides that are worth squeezing in to fulfill your experience: American Eagle, Batman, Demon, and Viper. Make sure you have time for bumper cars and other thrill rides. Food is pretty standard here for theme parks. The only time I had really delicious theme park food was at Silver Dollar City and Disney World. For those, I'll do research online and make note of interesting food that I want to try. The results are above par food quality. Don't go into Six Flags expecting superior food. Go in with low expectations. Remember, you just need to eat something in between all of the rides and entertainment. Fright Fest is worth checking out if you've never been. Overall I give a solid 3 due to the high GA prices for entering into the park as well as the parking.

Great place to be in the summer! Has the same old rides. My favorite is X-Flight because it makes you feel like you are flying! Funnel cake here is so good!!! But the food here is so expensive. Overall it's worth it for the kids.

Extremely Disappointing Experience at Six Flags Gurnee Our recent visit to Six Flags Gurnee was extremely disappointing, especially for my daughter. She measures 52 inches tall in shoes and was given a yellow armband marked "48" from another ride, verifying she was tall enough and should not need to be remeasured repeatedly. After waiting over an hour in line for a ride, she was initially allowed on. But once seated, she was suddenly pulled off, remeasured without her sandals, and denied access -- over a fraction of an inch. Meanwhile, a visibly shorter girl had just been let on ahead of her with no issue. It felt like she was unfairly singled out because she had the armband, which ironically was meant to prevent this kind of situation. I completely understand and respect the importance of safety on rides. However, the way we were treated was unnecessarily rude and dismissive. The staff member who removed her from the ride spoke to us with clear attitude, and when I asked to speak with a manager, I was met with a snarky "I am the manager, so what you want to speak to my manager?" response. We were then told to walk across the park to file a complaint, and even then, a woman behind a desk apologized and let me know her manager wasn't going to take the time to come speak with me, because it's at the discretion of whoever told her she couldn't ride. Just completely dismissed and no one cared. To add to the disappointment, the bathrooms smelled heavily of marijuana, and many of the rides for younger kids are no longer operating or have been removed altogether. (I've been coming to this park for almost 26 years) We left feeling frustrated, disrespected, and deeply let down. For the high ticket prices and expectations of a family-friendly park, the lack of professionalism and courtesy was inexcusable. We won't be returning anytime soon. I sincerely hope management has a discussion with their employees there about consistency when enforcing rules and figuring out ways to prevent this in the future. I'm certain not every child measured for rides are asked to take their shoes off and unfortunately had my daughter not taken her slide sandals off for the sake of not loosing them on the ride, he wouldn't have had a reason to tell her she can't and cost us the time we lost wasting it on that specific ride. After all the aggravation we cut our day short and left despite having gotten a hotel and planning to spend the evening there watching the fireworks. Six flags do better....

I mean, it's Six Flags Great America! Surprisingly enough, I've only been here twice (yikes) - once when I was around 20, and just now recently. Both times warrant a 4/5 experience. I came here for Fright Fest with my 2 friends and I'm soooo happy I did. Fright Fest is so fun - I mean, actors disguised in the creepiest costumes coming up and scaring you? I'm so in. What better way to celebrate the spooky Halloween season. We got there basically right at open time (11:10am) and were able to go on 4 rides in the first hour which is crazy. The rides I went on: Raging Bull, X-Flight, Super Man, Dark Knight, Viper, American Eagle, a water ride I forgot the name of, and other kiddie rides for fun. It got soooo packed later for Fright Fest, the lines were insanely long! The longest we had to wait for a ride was 1 hour for Super Man which was in the middle of the day. I will say, the food at Six Flags is just not it. Severely overpriced and a lot of the meals lack a lot of flavor. I know that's expected at amusement parks, but it was kinda crazy. Very hard to find healthy options, too. One High Noon was $14.50 - I could get a whole pack for just a few bucks more. Also, $40 parking is crazyyyy for people who already bought tickets! Parking should definitely be included in the price. For these 2 reasons I docked a star. Overall I'd definitely go again!

Beware/cuidado: Attn: Rev dept. The food options are still boring. The dining pass is very strict & limited. We had to wait to eat until 730p and showed up the restaurant was CLOSED. You cannot USE the dining pass at any of the new restaurants. Starbucks grande$10.20 not worthwhile. The Korean corn dog is $19.00!!!!! All the restaurants were pretty empty or no demand no line no wait. I'm hoping people are wise and know to SKIP the options. Alot of MISSED OPPORTUNITIES. Loosen the restrictions Add some deals Sales Bogos Your stores are empty. I know revenue is feeling the loss. Get together and make a plan for families of all walks to be able to enjoy a nice ride, water, food, beverage, treats and good times with their families. I've been here many times as a child but had the opportunity to come for a private event. It was amazing. The lines were short and we got to ride everything we wanted. They did close earlier than normal because it was a private event but all in all will def be going back again and again.

Super fun rides, decent food and great and nice employees got cheap season pass that is worth it and I will definitely buy it again, love this place!!

I don't review anything, but I am so pissed about this experience that I feel others should know and be warned... don't bother with the fast pass. I spent two hundred dollars so my Son and I could enjoy all the new rides. Nope. Half of them closed. Rules and regulations. Apps not working. If I paid this amount of money to get tickets, spend money of food, drinks, and parking, I shouldn't have to wait two minutes until my "reserved times" comes up so they can scan my QR code. They should be ashamed of themselves. I bought them so I wouldn't have to wait. Never going here again.

First off - I am a Retired Military and First Responder.... It's more expensive to receive Six Flags "Discount" than to simply buy a Thrill Package... That is more of a SLAP in the face towards Military and First Responder. Six Flags Great America in Chicago IL has definitely went down hill. I don't know who's in charge of decision making as far as the parks workings go but they should be fired. I took a 2 - 3 yr brake from renewing our family's season passes cause we just weren't happy with their park issues and new changes on their season pass value. They changed their pass value so my family and friends decided to try again. Some of us had passes while others wore buying tickets. It was to my great disappointment when we arrived last weekend for a family funday to experience a bit of fright fest as we used to. We got there to get stuck out in the parking lot cause someone thought it would be a great idea to gate in the usual entrances where you had lines for people to buy tickets then another entrance for people to enter that already had Passes and Tickets and another entrance for the people that had the hand stamped to re-enter the park in case they had to say run out to their car for something. Now EVERYONE has to enter through one exit, making the lines wrap around the park in both directions waiting forever just to get in. Not to mention NO BATHROOMS in sight till you finally get to the park. While that might not be a problem for some, for others like me with health problems and medications it becomes a big problem. I had to leave the park to use the restroom and i wasn't going to re-enter to pay another parking fee. I left my kids there and according to them they didn't even have all the lines open for security when they finally got past the gate. Not to mention my kids spent an extra fee of $40 for the Haunted Houses and they say they wore severally understated. And here's another thing that this year put a ridiculous spin on the parks attractions. While every year since I was little you can walk around the park and see all the amazing decorations with moving, talking etc. features incase you didn't want to go inside the understaffed Haunted Houses, this year they make you BUY a device that if you want to see a decorating move or talk you use it to get the full affect now. I mean come on, what do they think they are Universal Studios Harry Potter World??? Seriously !!! Understaffed, over priced and unequipped. Very disappointing.

This place is horrible, the workers are the rudest people on the PLANET OMG, they don't care about anything. Why can't they just do there jobs with a smile on their face, just because your day is bad doesn't mean you take out on the customer. I'm never coming back!!!!!

Extremely overpriced in every aspect. Most food quality is poor. Many fried items in restaurants seem to be reheated. Many places in the park are closed. Many restaurants close way before the park closes. I have seen mice on numerous occasions. Park often smells bad. Speedy parking is never open. Train doesn't run much. Skytrek tower almost always closed. X-flight is already getting bumpy even though it is pretty new. Viper is rough as hell. Rides should be cleaned better (maybe sanitized?). Scoreboard for 3pt contest has been broken for over a year. People often walk around with offensive shirts (makes the place seem even more trashy). I could go on.

Season pass holder for over a decade. Biggest issues: 1. Summer months are the busiest yet rides only have 1 car moving? making lines long as hell and simply not enjoyable. 2. Tried to buy flash pass online with app, it didn't work. 3. App is not updated throughout the day. Ride wait times were off by 3xs the actual wait. Today Superman was a "20 min wait on the app", in all actuality it was 1 hour+ long. We would come back more often if these issues didn't persist. But meh, unfortunately. UPDATE: We went to Flash Pass Headquarters to obtain a day flash pass. Conveniently they are only selling the premium pass, because they "sold out of the standard flash pass", it's $120 PER PERSON and they CANNOT guarantee the wait is actually 1/2 the wait time...so what's the pass for? A maybe kinda sorta 1/2 time wait? Cmon Six Flags, you can do better for your season pass holders this is ridiculous. I understand you need to make money but that's just crrrrazzzzy! This isn't Disney whoa

We went during fright fest. The lines were awfully long, but there were minimal delays. We bought an all day dining pass and split it between two of us, worked out perfectly. I'd still go back but maybe on a weekday.

I went to Six Flags with my mom, my aunt, and my sister last October during Fright Fest, though I wasn't aware of it until we arrived. A guy with a chainsaw chased me for quite some time until I got inside a ride. Had fun though.

I went to six flags on a Saturday. The lines were to be expected for a park of this size, but that is not what I'm annoyed about. The service was terrible here. My meal voucher was incorrectly scanned, no one knew how the Point of Sale system worked, and I ended up paying for a meal that should've been covered by my ticket. I am annoyed that I paid for a voucher and got shorted. The rides were alright, nothing to be proud of.

My son and I went to Six Flags Great America yesterday, October 5th. We had great weather the park was crowded which was understandable. The lines for rides were very long which I call also understand. It was Fright Fest and we were interested in checking out the haunted houses which didn't open till 6 or 6:30 PM depending on the haunted house. So crowded and badly managed. We waited 90 minutes for the Stranger Things haunted house to open and we went through it in two minutes. We got in line at the Texas Chainsaw Massacre and in line did not move in a half hour. So we left there. We went to the Saw haunted house, waited for 45 minutes, and also went through it in two minutes. We went to the Western haunted house, waited an hour, and again the line didn't move. So we left there again and finally left the park and came home. They are charging $45.00 for regular pass for the haunted houses and $90.00 for the Flash Pass. High price, long wait, and a short and not scary haunted house - Definitely not worth the money. I will not do Fright Fest again.

Great America has some decent rides and can be a fun place to go if you enjoy roller coasters and other thrill rides. However, the slow operations and the lack of availability or refusal to use more than one train on most of their rollercoasters has led to extremely long lines in the park. There is no reason to have hour plus waits on most of their roller coasters only because they are operating at limited capacity. This is a slap in the face to loyal pass holders as well as those who purchase a day pass. On a busy Friday they only are operating one train on Batman, Xflight, Superman and Raging Bull. Not worth the trip...

Hey fellow Yelp users! I went to Six Flags Great America on Friday, May 26, 2023. This was my first time going to Six Flags Great America in a really long time. I want to say about 11 ish years ago was the last time I went. I went with my boyfriend and it was his first time going. Some of the drawbacks were most of the roller coasters were not plus size friendly. My boyfriend is 6'3" and plus size and didn't fit most of the rides we went on. This raises the question on how can Six Flags and other amusement parks be more size inclusive. I love how it was an interactive shooting game. The ride was really interesting because it glides rather than your typical ride that's on some sort of track. Not to brag, but I got the highest score out of everyone. It was so much fun & I totally recommend! In terms of cost, it was definitely pricey. From the food to the tickets. I honestly think my boyfriend and I spent a total of about $250-$300. This includes 2 tickets ($117.44 including tax), parking ($35), 2 pizzas & 2 day drinks ($70 ish), & 2 meals from Johnny Rocket ($50-$60). Overall, I think we both had a good experience. I want to say the most plus size friendly roller coaster according to my boyfriend was the Whizzer. I have concerns for the Whizzer. I'm a shorter and smaller person and I feel like there wasn't really anything to hold on to. The Whizzer goes pretty fast at certain parts. so my first time going to six flags was one of the best days of my life! Batman was my first big rollercoaster I ever went on in my whole life.I went with my friends and they loved it too. Then I went on giant drop. And I loved it. Then indoor coaster battle of metropolis one of the best attraction in my opinion

Woo love Six Flags!! I haven't been here in several years. It doesn't look like it's changed much. We came opening week, before summer and on a weekday. It wasn't that crowded. We didn't get a flashpass but still managed 14 rides. Not bad! We splurged on Icees and Buffalo chicken spinach wraps. They were actually pretty good! The park was surprisingly clean, not much garbage. The only drawbacks are the TEENAGERS. Constantly line jumping, swearing, and lighting up weed. What the heck. My girlfriend even got pushed by one. I got hit on the side of the head while waiting in line. We didn't play any games, but dang, are they expensive! Also, we got to sit in the first row on Batman The Ride. Very cool, but causes a lot of dizziness!!! We left a couple hours before close. You start to develop headaches after a while.

I wish i could give this place a zero. No one explains anything at anytime. The process from buying tickets online to using them in person is horrible. They'll upsell you all day on fast passes, food, pictures, etc. But no one has any idea how to get them to work. I spent the first part of my day running around the park trying to find the few people in charge of each little add on. Guest Services sends you on a goose chase, and when no one is in that booth, no one has a way to contact them. Beyond that, quite a few rides were closed. I way overpaid for everything. I wish Cedar Fair bought Six Flags because I never had these problems at their parks.

I have been going to this park for the last two years, and I thought It was finally time to write a review. This review will be split up into four sections, Rides, Food, Service, and park quality (Cleanliness, useability, etc.) First up Rides. Great America has possibly one of the most balanced coaster lineups I have seen. Between Max force, Raging bull, X-Flight, and American eagle, this park has it all (And that's not even naming all the other rides). If you need a family coaster you got one in Viper. Need rides for the kids? You've got Sprocket Rockets and little dipper. In terms of flat rides, you have every kind you need, a drop tower, a teacups style ride, and more thrilling flat rides such as Fiddler's fling. There's even a train that goes around the park! My only complaint in this section is that most of the rides are getting old, and Six Flags hasn't given this park anything new in almost 4 years. 4.5 Stars here. Next Food. There isn't much to say in this section as SFGA has the basic lineup of Cheeseburgers, chicken tenders, and crappy BBQ. The best options for me at this park are the Mac and Cheese food truck located near the entrance of American Eagle, and the Steak Tacos near X-Flight. Considering the overly expensive prices, If you live near the area and are planning on coming back I highly recommend getting the food pass as it gives you a meal a day for the whole season. 2.5 Stars here. The service at any theme park is a game changer for me and at SFGA I really haven't had a bad experience! Everyone has either been nice or not talked too much which is fine for me. Since I come a lot I have made friends with some ride operators and Restaurant workers, it's always a nice touch when they get to know you! The workers are pretty light on the rules and might let you get in one more ride after the park closes or slide you an extra churro... In all everyone at this park is nice and loves what they do! 4.5 Stars in this category. The last and final Topic is Park Quality and I think that this is where SFGA struggles the most. You can tell that Six flags only cares about park quality when it matters, AKA Peak Season. During that time of year (Early summer-Late Summer) The park is filled with beautiful flowers and greenery, every water fountain is filled and every bench is clean. As you get into the closing or opening half of the season though, it is very messy and almost run down. The paint is falling off, the MAIN FOUNTAIN IS EMPTY, and it looks as if SF doesn't care. Honestly, if you go into it not expecting much it isn't too much of a disappointment. That being said I don't notice the lack of care too much because I am usually focused on my next ride. It's also good to note that this will be the main focus of the park's improvements in the future years. 2 Stars here. In All this park is amazing for families and any Coaster Enthusiest or friends looking to have a good time. The key is to not expect Disney World or Universal, and just go into it knowing that this is a six flags park that is focused on rides. I will definitely be coming here in the future and will be looking forward to the park improvements that are yet to come. 4 Stars Overall.

Six flags is my absolutely my go to spot for a fun, thrilling day! When rides were having technical issues workers were fast to respond and shoutout Nick for climbing up those stairs to entertain us :). Towards the end I went on American Eagle and the workers there were the absolute BEST- letting us have a bonus ride!! Shoutout to Karam, Nick, Jonah, and the other 2 (you know who you are). Truly the most magical place on earth!! Please let the workers I mentioned a shoutout they really do deserve it!

I can't believe the experience I had today. Today me and my girlfriends went from a fun trip to have some fun in the sun. Unfortunately, to our disbelief, the Superman ride broke down after 4 hours of waiting in line. This is tragic. The treacherous line to get to this coaster was already enough, but waiting in line just for it to break down! How embarrassing. No flash passes were offered to us either. Do better Great America!

Had a lot of fun . The food and drinks are expensive also the parking is a lot but the ticket prices are not bad at all . Also, the kids that worked there were A+ .They were all respectful, helpful when needed and very efficient at whatever roll they were playing . I hope they are well compensated . If not they should raise their ticket prices so they can pay them more . I'm from Vegas and you best believe that if this was ran by people under 17 out there you'd want to turn around and go home immediately . Anyway, Some of the rides weren't working but all in all we felt like we got our moneys worth and I actually think I had more fun that at Magic Mountain . My biggest complaint would be 2 of the 3 water rides were down and it was pretty hot (apparently the dry heat really is better )

The food at SFGAM was great, tasted delicious. Although the service was extremely poor. After the removal of the mobile ordering and the order numbers, service at the food court has become increasingly messy. Orders are taking forever to be prepared and served, even when orders were ready and sitting on the counter, it took too long to be given out to customers. For example, worker behind the counter was chatting with co workers while there were customers waiting for their food, the food was ready on the counters and the worker ignored the line of people. Worker also passed out wrong orders and confused customers.

Came here with my boys and they had a blast. They were about an inch short from riding several rides but we became season ticket holders for next summer and I'm sure they will be tall enough then! Looking forward to summer of 2025!

The food was very overpriced (it was $7 for a drink and $16 for nachos) On top of that, they scammed me almost $70 when I paid with debit, and they would not give me my money back (I even tried calling Six Flags twice!) I'm giving this review 2 stars only because the rides were really fun and the waits weren't horrible at all. Would have given this a higher rating if they didn't scam me.

9 coasters for $65...decent enough. Even got a sun tan on a cloudy opening weekend Saturday. Forgot how trashy the people are that come here but omg it provided for the BEST people watching I can remember in a long time!!!! Better than Walmart...alot of them reminded me of Walmart but better. Lol, great entertainment (people) and solid coasters. Can't believe that people still wait all day in general admission. Lol, never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups-George Carlin

What a mess, I understand that it's the first day of the year, but c'mon. Me and wife have wasted, as of now, an hour and 45 minutes, in two different customer service lines. Meal plan not working. How much longer must we wait.

The rides, that were open, were fun. The park seemed on its way to either a full make over or on its way to being ran down. I couldn't tell. Prices for anything is outrageous. If the park is getting a make over it would have been better to have lowered prices. Not worth the money this time around.

Horrible experience with customer service and gate entrance nobody knows anything. But they know how to take your money.

Freight Fest was soooooooo crazy and every ride was sooooooo scary I creamed on every single drop.
