We were very disappointed with our stay, especially given the hotel’s strong reputation and positive reviews.
Upon arrival, the room carpet was visibly stained, and one of the beds had dirty sheets. When I called the front desk, I was told that because it was our first night, housekeeping would not come, but that clean sheets could be sent instead. After waiting over 30 minutes, the front desk called back to confirm the request and questioned why we needed the sheets — specifically asking whether it was for a rollaway bed due to an extra person in the room. This felt uncomfortable, as if they were trying to determine whether additional charges could apply.
Once I clarified that the request was due to dirty sheets, they apologized and said housekeeping would come up. We then waited another 30+ minutes.
The mildew smell in the room was extremely strong and overwhelming. It was so bad that our eyes were burning, and we ultimately had to leave the hotel to purchase a room freshener plug-in just to tolerate being in the room. After experiencing this, we looked more closely at reviews and found that other guests have reported similar mildew or musty odor issues, which made this even more disappointing.
We chose this hotel based on its excellent reviews, but the cleanliness, air quality, and delayed service response did not meet expectations for a hotel at this level. Unfortunately, our experience did not reflect the quality we were expecting.
