Food: 4.5/5 Service: 4.7/5 Value: 4.7/5 Our first stop in Queenstown and it was a beautiful, sunny afternoon, making the gorgeous patio of Atlas Beer Cafe an optimal place to be. We wanted to go to fergburger, but was recommended that this place was actually better. After tasting both, I don’t quite agree with that take, but Atlas was still darn good, and there were places to sit, relax, and enjoy the day, which is a way better vibe Fergburger. Pork belly: a glutinous app that is definitely only for those who like high amounts of fat. The fat section was more than typical and had a great jello-esque texture with a crispy outside, perfect for pork belly. The sauce was also nicely sweet and sticky, just adding to the whole texture of the dish. Again this dish is not for those who are just wanting to “try” pork belly. Grilled Cheeseburger: The burger was great, no doubt about it. Double patty, double cheese, caramelized onions, just a classic combo done well. If you’re looking for a great burger with a great view, come here, and grab a beer to pair along with it! All that being said, the meat was just not as seasoned and the depth of flavors weren’t quite there compared to Fergburger. If you were forced to go to only one of these places, I would still try Fergburger.F

Absolutely loved this place. Clearly marked and extremely tasty vegan bar food options on the menu (try the miso tofu) and the owner (?) that served us had excellent knowledge of all the beers on tap. This would be my local go to place if I lived here. Check it out.

Great spot to grab a beer with plenty of local options on tap. The big board is always changing so plenty of options. Amazing spot by the water with indoor and outdoor seating.

It’s really good beer. I had the Belgian dubbel and it was perfectly balanced. The ambiance in here is terrific as well. It’s tone and quaint but also offers views of the water and mountains.

Start here! This is the place! Incredibly underrated. Trust me. Genuine staff, good vibes, great view, great crew, exceptional local and craft beer! I'm genuinely surprised. Limited signage, big impact. Been supporting locals, the community, and adventurers since 2008. 20+ local and signature beers on tap. Mulled wine and mulled ginger beer. Daily specials for Bahn Mi, Tacos, Steak, Burgers, Roast, etc. all with vegan vegetarian options. Busiest days are Wednesday (Steak night) and Thursday (Burger night) Quiet good vibe music, great view, and happy vibes feel. If it's busy, don't give up! You're not in QT to stress about the small things. The food is great, you won't be disappointed, but as a visitor, from here, do a lap of QT waterfront, finish at an Irish pub for a spice bag, guinness, and mulled wine. Seems to be the thing. Otherwise, grab an outside table early (3-4pm), start the heater, grab some blankets, settle in, enjoy the view and crew, and make the most of the daily special! Note: Pets outside only, no booster seat for kids, no takeaway beers. Limitless support though, just ask 🤙🏼

This is a great bar if you are a craft beer lover! Came here and got a tasting paddle. Great location, good and knowledgeable staff. Great place to go. Will be back next time in in Queenstown!

Lovely wee spot for a quick drink and snack. Quick service. Chicken was delicious, ginger bear is so refreshing!

We had a tasting set of 4 different beers. Ordered pork belly snack and everything was amazing. Good service too. We will be back.

Yelp
Great place for beer, with a good selection of non-IPA beers as well, which is uncommon in Aussie/Kiwi pubs. And the flank steak was EXCEPTIONAL!

Yelp
It was a very rainy day and our Fiordland tour was cancelled. With no backup plans, we came into Atlas for ponder over a few pints. It is a very small place (especially when it's rainy and you can't sit outside). We met a local that knew the owner and was just so fun to talk to. We covered everything from good places to eat, the New Zealand culture and life in general. He gave us a few ideas on what we could try to do (although even he said it is tough to find things as Queenstown offers mainly outdoor adventures). The beer and the selection was pretty good and the staff was friendly. We enjoyed all the random items all over the walls. Very nice and causal place, overlooking the river.

Yelp
Came here for a quick lunch before our steamboat tour. A great place to people watch or even to enjoy the scenery of Lake Wakatipu while dining. I had the baked sole and it was pretty delicious ( a little too oily but flavors were good). With a wide range of beer selection, dont forget to order yourself a pint ;)

Yelp
We got a recommendation from a local San Diegan (?) now living in New Zealand. She said that if she had to choose a last meal in Queenstown, she would have the steak here! So we walked into this cozy little bar with room for maybe 15 people and ordered the steak and 2 appetizers. The steak was delicious paired with the Tui (local Kiwi beer) we ordered. The steak came with fries, a salad, and a delicious slab of blue cheese on top of the perfectly cooked medium steak. This was indeed our favorite part of the meal! We also ordered the mushroom ragout, which included mushrooms and blue cheese, over polenta on a bed of sweet sauce (chutney?). The mushrooms were tasty, but we could have done without the bed of sweet sauce. This dish paired well with the steak. We ordered the duck curry with rolled poppadum chips. The duck was tasty and not so greasy. A good appetizer, but I feel a bit tunnel vision with the steak. Get the Steak! Get the Steak! It's a cozy bar, not so loud, with delicious bar type fusion food. Yum!

Yelp
I can see how some really love this place-- good place for beer, super packed, even outside in the cold/the semi-outdoor "hall" next door. Beer selection is good (by Queenstown standards), the bloody mary was terrible, and while the steaks are tender and nice in cut, we waited what seemed like forever for 'em-- and that was half too long. I mean, it's a pretty damned good steak by bar food standards, but it wasn't worth the hype.

Yelp
Love this tiny joint. Amazing view of the mountains. Rump steak and Wakana lagerball the way! Tiny joint. Friendly staff. Great location. Kooky Decore. Everything just as I like it. Even came back the next night to have Peter pour me a pint of the midnight Track stout. I'd be a regular if I lived here.

Yelp
My husband and I were recommend this place by one of the locals. The beer selection is great. The food is delicious and the views at sunset are wonderful. The wait for the food was a little long, however it was a Friday night. We would definitely visit again!

Yelp
I was beginning to like Atlas's coffee and service but until I went there this morning. Both my wife and I had coffees from Atlas but the kids wanted to have stuff from Fergbaker. So we were sitting outside having coffee while my food was on the way and kids were having their donuts from Fergbaker until the waiteress came to serve food to people sitting next to us and loudly said that we couldn't have food from outside. It was embarrassing and very pathetic customer service. This girl with the glasses probably needs to learn how to talk to customers. The bearded Barista was quite friendly and engaged better. Plus he makes great coffee! On the contrary, the steak sandwich was great along with their coffees... Great location as well with seating available outdoors...

Yelp
Glad we stopped in for beers while fighting jet lag, the atmosphere and beer made us forget our sleepiness! Bartender was super helpful with offering suggestions of which beer to choose, as there is a large selection. There are many different seating options both indoors and out, with views looking out to Lake Wakatipu. We could've stayed for hours taking in the view and the fun atmosphere. The beers are enormous and we liked all the beers we had (dunkel and a white IPA)!

Yelp
Amazing. I ordered the Bacon and Egg Turkish Roll and loved it....and I'm not even a breakfast person. So it was THAT good. Their latte did the job, nothing spectacular. However, I didn't need my latte to be impressive since my meal was so delicious.

Yelp
The $20 steak plate is by far the best deal in QT, and the revolving list of beers always has some awesome choices. Even though it's on the lakefront and surrounded by high priced tourist traps, there always seemed to be a good mix of locals, tradies and tourists. I ate and drank here several times during my 6 week stint in town, and always loved the food, the beer, the staff, and of course the lovely view.

Yelp
Thoroughly enjoyed a few pints while overlooking the majesty of Lake Wakatipu. Beer selection was great! My partner and I appreciated the friendly staff and laid back ambiance, slightly tucked away off the beaten track... Will definitely return for a few more!

Yelp
Came here on the recommendation of a local. They make a solid steak for a really reasonable price given the location. They also have a good beer selection.

Jacquelyn M.

Yelp
Atlas was recommended by a local in Queenstown and it is AWESOME! Hard to get a seat on a cold night, but definitely worth the wait for the steak. The portions are large, the price is better than you'll find at other sit down dinners, and you will leave full and happy with a local craft beer. We sat outside for a while but a table opened up after 15 minutes and we moved inside. The wait is not bad and the service is solid. Great experience!

Yelp
Good beer selection. Very small and crowded. Not very focused on the customer experience. Also Don't recommend the mulled cider - they take cider beer (rather than actual apple cider), boil it down so it looses the carbonation, then don't at any additional alcohol. Tasted like watered down apple juice.

Yelp
Recommended by a local for beer and food. VERY small inside, but plenty of seating outside. I sat at the small bar inside, but the younger groups of folks prefer outside - even if it's 50 degrees (f)! A local APA, small plate of duck, nice rocket salad and I was good to go!

Yelp
A great steak ordered medium... came medium-rare, but very tasty. I would order more done than you want. Service was good, but you had to order food at the counter, then scrounge for a table. Excellent beer and fries.

Yelp
As far as I can tell Atlas and Halo are the only places to eat in Queenstown proper. OK, the burger at FergBurger was good and large, but there is no where to sit and it is filled with very young clientele. Atlas is somewhat problematic on seating as well, but at least you stand a chance of getting a table at Atlas. Nice food here. Outdoor seating. Semi-outdoor seating (in the shopping mall area. Indoor seating-tight spacing. We were only in Queenstown a short couple days, but we went to Atlas twice. You'll like it!
