"Bathing in Rare Mud Hot Springs The Guanziling Hot Springs (關子嶺) are located in the foothills of the mountains of Taiwan, about 70 km northeast of Tainan City. These hot springs produce a fine, silty mud which is found in only three places in the world. It's said to be magnificent for the skin. Whether it is, I do not know, but it feels pretty amazing. The springs are quite inexpensive, and are in a beautiful area with lots of nearby walking and hiking paths. It is also very close to the burning water."

we thought this isthe location of a actual hot spring. but it isn't. but if you walk up the street all the hotels have nice bathes/spa with hot springs (also mud hot springs). we ended up in hoya resort where we could use their hot springs for 450/person. cap mandatory, which is cheaper to buy from denise shop across the street (50/cap)

A relaxing way to enjoy the mountain area. A group of us shared 2 rooms, one for women and the other for men. You can fill the concrete tub to the water level you want. They charge by the hour and one hour is sufficient. There isn’t much mud in the water as they don’t want to clog up their drainage. It’s best to use both the hot and cold tubs which are therapeutic. There’s a restaurant next door where you can enjoy their popular fish hot pot. The portion was big. Must have the chicken with broth! A great experience!

Kings garden hotel has good out door hotspring.not very natural outdoor bath,but good aqua spa with nice price. 3$for using the baths. The room condition was not so nice smells like basement but it was ok. The swimming pool had shallow water level. Couldn't really swim though.

It’s beautiful scenic area. Also considers as hill station in Tainan District. Recommend to go early in the morning and spend entire noon time in the mountain. Have beautiful trees, Mountain View, caffe to enjoy with beautiful and mild cold weather. Roads are very neat and enjoy to ride scooters in the area. Kinda fun to go there.

This is a very beautiful place as well as amazing. where the natural hot springs really give the body freshness .. very good for relaxation to calm the mind. a perfect place for a family holiday in tainan city.

It offers 3 hours rest or a night stay within a guest room. Muddy hot spring water is available from a hot spring water tap inside the bath room so you can adjust how hot by mixing with cold water.

For all the gaijin. This is a naked single sex place. Women turn left and men turn right. Once inside pull back the curtain strip off completely shower and slip into the muddy 44.5 °C water with a bunch of other guys. The other pool is much colder and there are two areas to sit and chill. An interesting experience for a novice. The water is very nice though and i felt very good afterwards. Just dont think you will be sat with your girl in a hot pool chilling in your swimsuit. If thats what you want dont go here!
