"The hotel has a polished jungle-inspired design with bamboo and natural wood finishes. Rooms feel new and modern with stainless steel appliances and smart TVs, and the most basic offering is similar to a standard hotel room but with a kitchenette. Larger rooms like the Studio Jungle Terrace have living spaces and kitchens, and there are also multi-bedroom suites with a private rooftop and ground-floor pool."

My stay at Hotel Copal was awesome and it started that way even before I arrived. The hotel staff contacted me on WhatsApp and made sure to assist with booking any excursions, gave recommendations and totally relaxed any worries around traveling alone. Upon arrival, everything was great service. The rooms are spacious and although I didn’t use the pool outside on the patio, it was a nice touch. I highly recommend staying here. It’s also close and central to many places. The massage that I booked onsite with a private cenote was so memorable and relaxing. The restaurants onsite were amazing! (Kokoro Japanese and Gastro restaurant),

I don’t usually write reviews but I had to for this beautiful stay at this hotel.||I arrived in quite a stressful state. My bank card was stolen just previously and the hotel was so accommodating and patient with me.||I was greeted by Max at the front desk with a big smile he was always there to guide me where to go and help me with several things. ||I was introduced to Jorge the reservation manager who I met with and made me feel like it was going to be okay with all of my bank problems haha. He was a contact person for everything and was so thoughtful through such difficult situation. I ended up getting my room upgraded. Outstanding customer service representative. ||The restaurants are spectacular. Not only the service but the food I will be dreaming about. Every morning for breakfast I was greated with a smile and a chat. Paula, Geraldo, David and Manual are lovely and give great service.|I tried the sushi restaurant upstairs too. Great waitress called Anna served my table.||I came in the down season but it was a perfect time to come for relaxation. The pools are amazing and the venue is stunning! ||10/10 would recommend.

I stayed at Copal Tulum Hotel for 10 days. The atmosphere is nice and the rooms are spacious — but that’s where the positives end. I’ve never stayed in an Airbnb before, but I imagine this must be very similar. 1. The room didn’t have a minibar (just an empty fridge). 2. Towels were not changed daily. 3. When the soap and shampoo ran out, they didn’t replace them. 4. They gave us two small bottles of water when we checked in and that was it. They told us that if we wanted more, we had to buy it from them. (Imagine waking up in the middle of the night thirsty — the room doesn’t even have a phone to call for water, so you have to walk all the way to reception.) And the worst part was the food. We booked with breakfast included, but it was honestly disgusting. They even have separate menus. The “included breakfast” menu says 380 pesos, but the portions are tiny and simply disgusting. When I asked if I could order from the regular 380-peso menu, they told me they couldn’t add it to the system. Overall, this hotel is barely 1.5 stars.

We came in off season, and the price was a bargain. It was well worth the price. Mind you we initially opted for a lock off hotel room. It was a little sparse, not much to speak of in terms of room decoration, etc. we upgraded to a large apartment (probably about 900 sf+) for roughly $100 more total for two nights. A bargain. There are more than adequate amenities. Ground floor and rooftop pools, gyms; and restaurants. The sushi restaurant was overpriced and just okay, so unless you don’t want to venture out; I’d try somewhere else: They have services like massages, yoga, etc. also pricey (though maybe they are worth it. We don’t opt because of the prices. $100ish for a 90 minute massage is something we could get back at home for less). Internet was bad in the hotel room. It was good in the large studio. Grounds are like a little jungle. In the off-season, this is a deal, and you can’t go wrong all things considered.

I had an unforgettable stay at Copal Tulum. The hotel is family-owned and you can feel the care in every detail. Although it’s a sizeable property, it feels intimate and welcoming, with a beautiful jungle ambiance throughout. Our room was spacious, luxurious and tastefully decorated — everything felt top-notch. We danced on the rooftop and later enjoyed an amazing dinner at Kokoro, the hotel’s stylish sushi restaurant where every dish was full of flavor. Around the pool area you can relax, swim and even enjoy meals or drinks in the lush surroundings. In the mornings we loved the fresh, beautifully prepared breakfast — the perfect start to the day. The staff were outstanding: warm, attentive and genuinely caring. Copal Tulum and Kokoro together create the perfect combination of luxurious comfort and authentic hospitality. I can’t wait to return!

More than enough space, quiet and extremely comfortable. The room was clean and there were plenty of towels and toiletries. The staff were pleasant and friendly, as well as very accommodating. The ride from Cancun International was quick and easy, about an hour and 15 min drive. I recommend reserving transportation with the hotel. It was quick and affordable.

Outstanding! We spent 7 amazing days at this special place. The attentive staff to each and every space, that has been carved out with thought and love for nature. Set in a beautiful jungle, Copal is a true oasis in the heart beat of Tulum. Ivy,Max, Victor,Eddie and ALL THE STAFF here at Copal made my birthday special and a memory I'll cherish forever! I recommend renting the bikes they provide to get around and explore Tulum. There is a local Cenote well worth a visit, not to mention the beach! This place offers everything you need for relaxation and a little 'fiesta' :) Both restaurants offer excellent quality and quantity at a good price. There is a lovely family run spot just outside the hotel, where you'll get fantastic Carnitas!! Copal Tulum is EVERYTHING, just Book! :) I'll be back very soon!

Copal 2025: The 1st words we heard when we exited our transport was Ivy at the front desk and saying “Welcome home”. It really felt like it. This was our 2nd stay at Copal and the staff spared nothing. Claudio brought us to our room and We couldn’t be happier. Our room was a single suite with a private pool in the back! 👍🏻 After Claudio gave us a tour of our room, he left to get our luggage. A quick unpack and we were back at the Gastro restaurant. We received familiar smiles from David, Eddy, Jerry and Poula. Our meal was fantastic as always! We highly recommend this onsite restaurant. Definitely 5 star meals, cooked with local ingredients. You will find that the grounds are very clean and well cared for. 24 hour Security is onsite so you will feel safe for your entire vacation. The rooms are modern and well kept. Copal’s room attendants are trustworthy, fast and friendly. With Taxi service right outside the building you can start your adventure easily. Whether you want to go get groceries, find a restaurant or shop or visit ancient ruins, you will find friendly drivers right outside the property. All in all, our 2nd visit was amazing. We want to give a special thank you to the Front desk staff Ivy, Victor, Claudio and Max (congratulations on becoming a father!). To the Gastro staff, David, Jerry, Eddy, Poula and to all the other missed employees. We always arrive to Copal feeling like “Estoy en Casa”. We’re already planning visit #3. See you soon Copal family!
