"Be not afraid of beef tartare I have always hated the idea of raw beef. I'm not going to lie, it scared me. A lot. But living in Italy has taught me many things - perhaps most importantly, don't be scared to taste anything. Octopus. Anchovies. Olives. Those small pickled fruits that I still don't quite understand. And most deliciously - raw beef. Spread some of La Piola's (the less formal Alba restaurant of 3-Michelin starred chef Enrico Crippa) tartare on a piece of crusty bread, and enjoy the natural creaminess of the fine meat."

We had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The scent of truffles filled the air, adding a luxurious touch to the whole evening. We also really enjoyed the biodynamic wine – it was excellent and paired perfectly with the meal. Highly recommended!

The food and service was amazing and I would highly recommend a visit. You can’t go wrong with their Nebbiolo wine tasting

A must visit spot in Alba. Centrally located in the town. Has an extensive wine list.

One of the best meals of our stay in Piedmont. Wonderful wines and regional dishes in the heart of Alba.

I was here for a business dinner. Top notch food and service. Get the appetizer tasting plate if you have a hard time deciding, you won’t regret it!

Great food in the Duomo square. Tour guide said it was Michelin recommended and it felt like it

My husband and I visited La Piola Duomo recently and were unfortunately disappointed. Most of our dishes arrived cold. When we ordered the vanilla tart, we specifically asked if it was served warm; the waiter confirmed it was, yet it arrived ice cold. When we asked to have it heated, the waiter told us they simply 'couldn't do it.' To make matters worse, the host spent the entire evening drinking with other guests, which felt quite unprofessional for a restaurant of this caliber. While they did apologize and removed the cake from our bill at the end, the overall experience was a letdown.

Yelp
We came at lunch and even then you need a reservation. This place is highly desirable. The veal with the tuna sauce was exceptional!! The wine: I asked my waiter and he should be a somm from all his knowledge and passion . Desert was great too. This was a year ago I went there and looking this place for a friend I realized I didn't write a review. So weak as it is, trust me this IS a place to eat at

Yelp
Perfectly situated in the center of town is the busy and chic: La Piola. It was by happenstance that we walked by, captured by the near full indoor and outdoor dining space filled with happy diners, and fortunately they had one table for us! This was hands down the best pasta with truffles we had.

Yelp
Very good restaurant experience. The service and food were very good. The truffle pasta was top notch and the antipasto Misti was great. Very good wine list.

Yelp
Great place! I visited the Ceretto winery in the morning and ate here for dinner. My server Francesco was fabulous! The table displays and setting of the restaurant was well oriented. All the staff was friendly and very comfortable speaking English. The food was AMAZING, well presented and timely. Can't recommend this place more if in the beautiful town of Alba.

Yelp
This was solid Italian food. The sommelier was awesome and we had a very nice Barberesco with dinner. The agnolotti dal Plin was very good but I wanted more sauce. The Vitelli tonnato (veal sliced thinly with tuna mayonnaise sauce) was decent. The egg cocotte with cream and with white truffle was small, but delicious and I would definitely get again. The tajarin pasta with truffle was also delicious.

Yelp
The dining spot was in a great location right in the square and next to the church. Cute modern interior. It's linked with Cerretto winery somehow. (Great winery to visit, by the way). By the time we got there, they were out of most of their entries. So, there was very little to choose from. I may have given them five stars, but the selection was poor. The pasta were fine, but frankly not as memorable as other meals on my trip. The appetizer was interesting - I liked trying an assortment of local tastes- I still have no idea what I ate! I would come back and give this place another shot. But they really should better manage their food so they don't run out of their core dishes before closing time!

Yelp
What a great place! We were a group of 6 people and got seated on their ''outside'' area, which is covered and has a great view of the piazza. It turns out that area is better than eating inside. The decoration is great. Nice decorated plates and glasses made our table very welcoming. The service is friendly and on time. As an appetizer I ordered the mix. It comes with vitello tonnato, salade russe and beef tartare (you can choose to add white truffles on that, I did). Everything on the plate was delicious. As a main dish I got the tajarin with white truffles. DELICIOUS!! Breathtaking. Perfectly cooked. The rest of the table chose a second meat dish and they all look tasty. I got the gelato as a dessert and it was very good also. We ordered 3 bottles of wine, two coffees and 3 doses of grappa at the end. Regarding the truffles: they will serve you as much truffles as you want and charge by the gram. At the end our check added up to around 90euros/person. Not expensive for the amount of wine and truffles that we ate. I would very much recommend this place next time you're in Alba.

Yelp
Very good restaurant in the middle of the city of Alba. Good food and excellent service, it is indeed worth to try.
