The team at Movia have a great sparkling wine that they make themselves. Our personal favourite is the rosé. They also have a truly amazing selection of regional Slovenian wines, as well as Croatian. For those looking to learn a bit more, while enjoying a relaxing glass or two of wine, Movia is a great choice. They sell natural, biodynamic, and organic wines, as well as classic-method wines. The sommeliers and waiters who work there are extremely knowledgeable, so do not hesitate to talk to them, they will be happy to answer any of your wine questions. The decor is simple and chic. The bar is also a lively spot to do some people watching too. Movia is in fact the biggest and most famous wine exporter and producer in the country. During the Summer they also have good outside seating area if you want to enjoy Ljubljana’s sun.

When we first got here it was empty, within 20 minutes all tables were taken. We did a tasting of their wines and ordered a board to snack on. The girl who is part of the family working there was great, she was explaining our wines in English and assisting all the other customers with recommendations. Very clearly not her first day. The wines were very good and the snack plate was also quite a lot. We were very happy with our experience and would love to visit again.

As it turns out, orange wine is so named because of its color, like red or white. There are no oranges involved. It is basically the process used for making red wine, only using white grapes. And it’s ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. I’m saying this as someone who does not like white wine. Having just arrived in Ljubljana and not hungry enough for a full meal, I stopped by this wine bar to try orange wine and have an appetizer. I ordered the anchovies, and every bite of this meal, the olives, the anchovies, the burrata, the tomatoes, the crusty sourdough bread, was amazing, and the orange wine was the perfect accompaniment. Would 100% recommend.

Good way to taste through Movia’s wines, as well as explore other bottles at the bar. Friendly staff who recommended some great restaurants to us.

Such a lovely small wine bar, with about 3 tables and seats at the bar. We went there around 9pm on a Thursday in January and there were seats available. It's the perfect intimate setting for a date. The staff working there was so friendly and recommended a few slovenian wines to us. We ended up trying 4 wines and sharing a Movia platter (mortadella and 4 types of local cheeses) for ~€33. The atmosphere was perfect, so relaxed and inviting.

Recently, I had the pleasure of attending a wine tasting event that turned out to be a truly memorable experience. The setting was intimate and cozy, perfect for an afternoon spent among friends, savoring exceptional wines paired with delicious cheese and Italian ham. The selection of wines was both interesting and unique. Each wine had its own distinct character, providing a journey through diverse flavors and aromas. The sommelier was knowledgeable, offering insightful explanations about the origins and nuances of each wine. This added a layer of depth to the tasting, making it not just a sensory delight but also an educational experience. The pairings of cheese and Italian ham were thoughtfully chosen to complement the wines.

Wonderful evenings with exemplary hosts Ela&Grega, who really cherish wine and do their best to bring it as close to you as possible. If in Ljubljana, I would consider this an absolute must - without doubt.

Great wine - they have a vineyard that spans Italy and Slovenia, this is their tasting room. Later on our wine tour we were told they are one of the best producers in Slovenia. We did a tasting of 5 wines for 25 euro. Charming street great for people watching and sipping wine
