"Learn to Kiteboard on Long Bay When it comes to kiteboarding, Turks and Caicos is considered one of the world's best places to learn the sport thanks to shallow, warm water and steady winds. Established in 2006, KiteProvo is the original, longest running and largest kiteboarding school in The Turks and Caicos. Located on Long Bay, which is famous for its calm, easy to stand in, and gorgeous hued turquoise water, this is the perfect place to learn the basics. What's great about KiteProvo, however, is the quality of the instructors (they each teach an average of a thousand lessons over the 10-month season!). Friendly and patient, they offer a dynamic approach to teaching that helps you learn without getting frustrated – you'll learn first on the beach, for instance, and then progress to the water. Once you have the hang of the sport, consider taking one of the boat led kiteboarding adventures to surrounding spots around the island for a more remote experience. Kite rentals are also available."

We had an amazing experience with Kite Provo! If you're looking to get into kiteboarding, pull the trigger and head down to Provo. Truly no better place in the world to learn the sport—an absolutely enormous bay of gorgeous warm water that you can stand in for miles out from shore. Scheduling was super easy with Matt, including moving things around based on wind conditions as needed. Highly recommend doing what we did and leaving a few extra days on the end of your trip unscheduled in case you need to push back a lesson or two due to lack of wind. Connor was our instructor for the week and had us up and riding in no time...everything was super smooth & I couldn't recommend more highly!

The communication and setting up my lesson was very easy. The lesson was great. My instructor, Matthew, was very professional and understood the goals of my lesson. He also was very knowledgeable in wingfoil and the proper teaching technique. The location in Turks and Caicos is ideal for learning Wing foil.

We had the best afternoon. Mark from Denmark was absolutely fantastic and very knowledgeable. The whole trip was very relaxed and it was so beautiful. We saw turtles, sharks and rays. The sunset was also fantastic! This trip is a must do!

Without question, my experience with Kite Provo was one of the best things that I’ve done for myself in a LONG time. Over five-days worth of lessons, the instructors worked with me — at my pace — to get me up and riding. Each day we discussed lesson plans, expectations and goals for the day and debriefed when done. The instructors were great, working to convey the information and focus on skill development, and be a cheerleader when that was necessary, as well. I highly recommend Kite Provo to anyone looking to learn kite surfing. And while my instructors (Mark and Mariusz) were awesome, I did watch / listen to other instructors when I could. I heard similar encouraging instruction from them as well. Really, they ALL want you to have an enjoyable (learning) experience and work hard for you to learn safely. If you’re considering trying this, do it now. You won’t regret your time — especially if you have the opportunity to work with Kite Provo! These are memories that I’ll take to my grave. Than you, everyone at Kite Provo!

“Mark from Denmark” was one of the best guides we have had anywhere on our numerous travels. He deeply cares about the mangrove environment and is extraordinarily knowledgeable in addition to being a hell of a nice guy. We sadly witnessed other tour companies doing destructive things to the local environment and Mark explained why he and SUP Provo do things differently. He gave us an amazing experience while respecting the local wildlife and environment. I cannot recommend this company and Mark enough if you are a nature lover.

After 10 years of coming here: Absolutely the best kite school around. Fantastic chill location, lots of shade, great pricing. Perfect for those who don't want to sit at a cookie cutter resort. All of the staff are incredible and knowledgeable, great equippment and plenty of local recommendations for where to go and what to do in TCI. The bay is the best in the world for learning to kite, knee deep water as far as the eye can see with no rocks or obstructions. They have jet skiis to take you up wind if needed and they can plan excursions. There is a local shack next door with cocktails and beers, tons of shade and places to sit or set up a beach picnic. A must see before you try anywhere else, you wont regret it.

I can’t say enough great things about Kite Provo and the wonderful people who work this. This was my first time visiting TCI and trying kiteboarding, and I’m absolutely hooked. I signed up for the 10 hour package and was up kiting by the end of it! I had Baptiste as my instructor for all lessons, and he was amazing!!! I’m a windsurfer coming into this and he quickly identified the skills I already had from this to help me and also VERY patiently supported me in unlearning bad windsurfing habits. Particularly as the lessons went on, he got the feel of my learning style, and was able to tailor how he taught me to be most effective. He provided frequent feedback to make sure I got the most out of the lessons, and was very encouraging when I would get frustrated. I also really appreciate that he found something to teach me no matter the conditions, and asked about where else I would be kiting in the world to teach me things that would be relevant to those places. He also taught me a lot about safety while kiting, which I really valued, especially as I became more independent towards the end of my trip. In addition to being an incredible instructor, he was also a really kind and super interesting person to talk to. I highly recommend Baptiste as an instructor. As for the rest of the Kite Provo team, they were all extremely friendly, professional and wonderful people to be around at the beach. They would help me with my gear, offer me tips, and were great hype people, even after I was done with taking lessons at Kite Provo. Their enthusiasm and passion for kiteboarding is contagious. It is also so fun and entertaining to watch all of the instructors kite during their breaks, they’re unbelievable and make it look so effortless. Well I didn’t have lessons with anyone else, they all seem like amazing instructors! Every single person I saw would come off the water with a smile at the end of their lesson :) Thanks everyone at Kite Provo for all you do! I’m already planning my next trip back for more kiting!
