"At this Four Seasons in Prague’s Old Town, the old and the new are—quite literally—attached at the hip. A new, contemporary main building joins three historic ones, melding Baroque, Classical, and Renaissance styles to form this jewel on the Vltava River. The interiors are classically executed, with limestone paneling and local lithographs, but it’s the suites we’re hung up on: The rooms in the Neo-Classical wing, for example, feature powder blue walls and hand-painted stenciling recall the glory days of the Austro-Hungarian empire, with elegant ceiling moldings, blue and white porcelain, and gold leafed Biedermeier furniture granting our deepest desires for a formal drawing-room. The sprawling views of the Charles Bridge and the red-roofed tiles over the city don’t hurt, either. The hotel is frequently commended for its perfect location for exploring, smack in the center of the city.
