I am always pleased with the prices, and quality of the products I find for sale. I have bought and sold items here on more than one occasion, I have always been very pleased with my shopping or selling experience. They have a lot of unique items you will not find anyplace else. Staff are always polite, helpful, respectful, and professional.

Great place to buy or sell furniture. With good prices and a large selection, it is no surprise that this is as popular as it is.

So many treasures with fair prices. Had loads of fun shopping there with my friends. Highly recommend it.

Overall nice store with neat stuff however prices are quite higher even for second hand products especially their clothing. You will find better prices elsewhere worth a look but expect to spend a good amount of money even a recliner they had there was $600 Don’t expect a good deal due your research

I used to love Mimi's, when it was downtown. I would bring items in to consign. I usually made a profit. Then it moved with new owners. It seemed I was getting less and less for the items I was selling. Ian was most always nasty. The last time I went in, I took a couple boxes of stuff for him to look at. He had a whole cart full of stuff, including oil paintings, he said he could only give me $25 for it all. I should have known better, but I said yes, I didn't want to carry it all back home. I was looking around the store and I seen Ian bring the cart in with my stuff marked. I added it up and it came to over $100. I went and told the cashier; she had Ian come back up and you could tell he was mad. He added it up and told the cashier to give me $12. I believe I was still owed more money, but I left it at that. The cashier apologized and said Ian was having a bad day! By this time, I was to! After I got home, I see there was a couple things missing, that they were nowhere to be found. If you're going to treat people like crap, you shouldn't be working with the public. So sad I loved that store. This happened over a year ago, but I finally decided I should let people know. Ian helped our family consign some vintage clothes and while we were back in NY we stopped and shopped! So fun! Reasonable prices! Nice finds and we stuffed one in our box to come back to Florida. Ian wasn’t there to thank, but we stopped again to let him know how much we appreciated his help! Will definitely stop back whenever we are home.

I purchased a chair online described as in very good condition. I show up to pick it up. It’s covered in blood stains and splatters. I asked them if there was something that we could do as in return the chair and give me my money back and this person was so rude and said absolutely not refused to let me have my money back and force me to accept this bloodstain chair that was $150 and Miss advertised do not ever go there. I used to love this store, but apparently the new owner is very very rude and has horrible taste because the place used to be filled with beautiful items and now it’s just a bunch of junk. Too bad Mimi’s attic was a wonderful place and now it’s just a junk store staffed and owned by extremely rude people that miss advertise and refused to accept responsibility

So we moved to Ithaca mid August so we've been thrift thing for furniture and stuff. This is probably the best thrift shop that I've been to my brother recommended it. They probably have the best quality stuff. The prices are reasonable. They're really interesting pieces. The staff was really friendly. They helped us with that we got a coffee table Bring to our car and everything recommend the pieces they have were just very interesting so I mean definitely check it out. (Dictated but not read, lol)

I had an extremely disappointing experience at Mimi's Attic. The staff was rude, unprofessional, and downright humiliating. I was embarrassed in front of other customers just for needing to transfer money before completing my purchase. When I asked for kindness, I was met with raised voices and judgment. We're all struggling--and to be treated like this in a thrift store of all places is shameful. I will never return and hope others think twice before supporting a business like this.

After living in Ithaca off and on for nearly 30 years, I have never been so thoroughly disrespected by a local business as I was by Mimi's Attic. I am not one to post bad reviews, and I am not a keyboard warrior, but I am still seething about an especially unpleasant experience I had dealing with this business and its staff. Earlier this year, I consigned four items from my late father's house (2 dressers, a writing desk, and a table). Three of the items sold relatively quickly, but the final item, a cherry chest of drawers, took longer to sell. I was traveling to and from Ithaca from Austin and was busy dealing with what was left of my father's estate. Admittedly I didn't keep track of the pickup date as closely as I should have. About 2 weeks after the pickup date I realized that I still hadn't heard anything about whether the final item had sold, so I gave the shop a call to inquire. I spoke to Ian on the phone, and was told that the chest of drawers still hadn't sold and that I could come to pick it up. I said "OK, I am thinking about coming by tomorrow (Monday, May 6th) to take it back". Before hanging up, Ian said "OK, but if it had sold before we talked, we wouldn't have been required to compensate you for the item." This gave me a bad feeling, and I decided that I shouldn't wait until tomorrow. So, I went to the store less than two hours after speaking on the phone to pick up the chest of drawers. To my utter disbelief and shock, I saw that the Cherry chest of drawers had a sold sticker with a note that stated it was a "phone order." I immediately went to the front desk and told the person at the cash register that I was here to pick up my check and a consigned item that didn't sell. The cashier checked their notes, and with a confused look and told me that they needed to talk to somebody. They brought over Ian (the same person I had spoken to on the phone) who told me that the dresser had sold in the two hours since we had spoken on the phone. Keep in mind that the dresser hadn't sold in the 2.5 months it was in the store and then somehow miraculously sold in the span of 2 hours of us agreeing for me to pick it up. I reminded them that we had just spoken on the phone and that I had told them that I was coming in to pick up the item. Ian went on to say that I had seemed unsure about picking it up and that, anyway, it was already past the pickup date and they had a buyer so they had to honor the sale. I kept my cool, and said ok but can you at least honor our agreement and give me the 40% of the sales price that I am owed, which Ian refused. My partner and I tried to reason with them, explaining that I had called ahead, that the item was still in the store, that we were traveling, that the item being sold was part of my late father's estate and we never (not even once) received a reminder of the pickup date. Ian explained that they couldn't pay me my share today even if they wanted to because they need to wait for the buyer's payment to process. To which I said that I could come back in a day or two to pick up the check. Ian immediately backpedaled and said that they still weren't going to give me any compensation for the chest of drawers. At this point I was so fed up and angry that I couldn't stand another second of speaking to them. After they cut me my check for the three items that had sold, I turned and left without saying another word. My family and I have probably done thousands of dollars of business with the store since it opened on State St years ago. Mimi's advertises itself as a consignment shop, which means they should feel obligated to make a good faith effort to compensate and notify consigners. Ever since it was bought by new owners, they have offered poor compensation, and even poorer customer service and communication. Beyond this, it is clear that they conspire against their own patrons and will attempt to cheat them at the first opportunity. It is truly a shame how a local business that used to pride itself on its quirkiness, fair dealings, and good taste has descended into perfidy and greed.

My husband and I have never bought anything from here but we've sold two items here. We've seen a bunch of interesting pieces here but nothing that we've pulled the trigger for. We sold two mid century pieces here and we thought the process was relatively quick and easy. The pieces sold quickly and we got our money sooner than they said. We would sell pieces here again.

Clean, decently organized, and good second hand finds. Saving money and doing my part for the environment. Win-win.

They have a really cute selection of furniture. I got my chair from them. Well-priced compared to most Ithaca furniture antique stores.

I was strutting down State Street, as I am inclined to do, enjoying my Piccolo Mondo Fair Trade Organic Blend coffee from Gimme Coffee. Then, I was hit square in the noggin with a supposition: Why don't I buy a lamp? Try as I might to shed this little bugger of an idea, it stung me again and again in my brain-voice: Why don't I BUY a LAMP? Then, as the heavens of providence shone down upon me, I stumbled across the quaintest of storefronts. "Mimi's!" I exclaimed, drawing the attention of random passers-by. I felt a shiver run through me, as I hurried to finish reading the sign. "Attic!" I drew applause from the onlookers. I had no time to dabble with them, however, as I was on a mission and I was running low on Piccolo Mondo Fair Trade Organic Blend coffee from Gimme Coffee. As I stepped into this utopia of a kit AND caboodle, my heart skipped a beat. I wonder, to this day, if I shall ever retrieve it. Price tags! PRICE TAGS! And they're all MARVELOUS! My ill-conceived desire for a lamp was soon discarded and replaced with a desire for an everything. Never before had I so wanted a stack of plates with intricate depictions of birds on them, or a wooden rocking chair that--had I wanted--I could have had embossed with a bird. For five dollars? Twenty dollars? Take all my dollars - I'm IN LOVE. Just as my heart was lodged firmly and moistly in my throat, a comely and fair woman approached me, as if witnessing my dreams and taking up their countenance. "Hello," she said, "Can I help" her voice was not unlike that of Ishtar, the East Semitic Akkadian, Assyrian, and Babylonian goddess of love. I listened intently to her words: "you?" The rest of my visit was a blur, as I was swept away into a second-hand dreamland that sweetly emptied my wallet. I did not, in fact, buy a lamp. At least, I don't remember doing so. However, if I did, it would have been from Mimi's Attic.

I liked the place the first time I went about a year ago. But I guess the business has picked up and as a result, the people have turned really rude, and show their true nature, as far as I'm concerned. Today, while I was there, the woman at the cashier had "I'm selling it for you although I don't have to" sort of attitude. I parked in the parking lot in front of the store and since it was full (as it often is), I ended up parking in the only spot left which was reserved for people on wheel chair. I was not going to stay there only for five or ten minutes, so I parked there. After I purchased a large item (which I came to check out the day before), I had a helper to help me carry it to my car. I told her I need to hurry up because I'm parking in a wrong spot. Guess what she told me upon arriving in the area? She talked down to me as though I should have known better and used a parking lot behind the store. She said to me, rather condescendingly, as I was being polite, "Just, don't park here." I really didn't like the way she said it to me. I wonder if she would have talked the way she did to me to someone else. It's sort of unbelievable that you come across with this kind of arrogance - I mean, after all, didn't I just gave her a business? But apparently, she seems to think she's doing me some big favor by selling the item to me. If they want their customers to park in the rear lot (which I've never seen and am yet to see) they should have a LARGE, very LOUD sign especially in the particular spot I was parking that direct us to this alternative parking area. Really, please, I wish they would not talk to me as though it's my fault that I didn't know (!). I had already made it clear to her that I was trying to get out as quickly as I could. I guess she wanted to amplify my guilt or something? What a big deal. And I wasn't parking there for a long time. At most, I was out of there in 15 min. And by the time we were there, there were other spots opening which were all pretty close by to their front entrance. I also had an unpleasant experience the day before at the adjacent IthacaMade. After browsing in Mimi's, I went into IthacaMade side, to choose a couple of gift items for my friend. Then I accidentally walked out into the Mimi's side as I just remembered I had a question I was going to ask and forgot to. So I quickly walked back out of IthacaMade into Mimi's's side with the IthacaMade items still in hand - and note that there were really nothing to divide the two places - just an open door frame - and the woman at the cashier came rushing toward me, obviously assuming I was going to steal the items from their store! I let her hold my items while I went back to ask my questions but I was like, why, did I look like a thief? Wow. Perhaps - instead of accusing customers - she should place a door so that the customers will be reminded that they are two different stores. This was so extremely unpleasant. They have a nice Ithaca gift items so I will probably return but otherwise I would not go there again. (Also, they used to have a better deal on local coupon book last year. Their coupon offer this year has become significantly less attractive). All in all, I like to support local businesses with what little I have, but I don't know how much longer I can tolerate all these strange behaviors of these shop owners/keepers.... I guess these businesses work hard only in the beginning to attract new customers (the better the more rich the patrons are ..) and once they are established, they just don't really care. I won't return to these places again unless I really need something from there - if I unfortunately have to go and experience the similar situations, I will make sure to update my reviews lavishly, because this, unfortunately, seems to be the only way to make these businesses respectful of customers. If they are vindictive toward me in their attitude, I will report that too. I'm not taking it. I'm too old for this kind of BS. I am no longer enthusiastic about neither of the businesses. Period. Boo.

We came here and got the majority of our furniture. I got a coffee table, couch, bed frame, dining table with chairs, desk, and bookshelves. They do delivery and we got 5 items delivered for $65. The quality of the furniture is better than IKEA and it's gently used. I found a nice tea set for $10 too.

Don't bother selling your furniture yourself, let Mimi's do it. When I was preparing to move out of Ithaca, I liquidated virtually everything I owned. While Mimi's didn't take everything we had (some shoe racks and a couple other items), they did the work of coming to pick up the furniture with a U-Haul (for a small extra charge) and then sold our furniture in their store. They also set the prices for everything, although I had the option to provide input, I trusted their expertise. Any that wasn't sold after a certain time they kept, but was still worth having them pick it up. I can't speak to the furniture they sell, but if the prices and quality are what they picked up from me, would highly recommend.

Mimi's Attic is the premiere place to find one-of-a-kind items that add charm & style to your home at reasonable prices. A new store every time you shop, Mimi also posts updates on instagram, so you can keep up-to-date on what's in house even when you don't have time to pop in... which you'll want to do whenever you can! Our family lost our house to a fire, so we are "frequent fliers." Most of the furniture that we now have was purchased at Mimi's. The pieces we bought all have some small story behind them which we enjoy. Mimi's has been a godsend for us. Mimi's is conveniently located in downtown Ithaca, the staff is friendly & helpful, prices are reasonable and there's always something fun and funky to marvel at even if you don't take it home with you. There are a few prime meter-free spots, but bring some change with you in case you need to park on the street. The staff has tape measures handy, but if you're looking to fill a space at home remember to give it a quick measure to ease your shopping. Mimi's, at times, can be jam-packed full of good things and navigation can be tricky if you have mobility issues. Well worth checking out again and again in person and online!

Best spot in the area for used furniture. Prices are higher than the ReUse center, but they have way nicer stuff.

This was a pleasant surprise. Something at many different price points, I considered a Retired Mackenzie Childs platter and square plate as well as a John Derian decoupaged plate and mid century sea shell wall pocket before purchasing two perfect Beswick fan tailed pigeon figurines dating from the 1960s. Having name dropped all these items, I should mention there are many affordable fun pieces, larger furniture and funky artwork for anyone to enjoy. Items showed markdowns with time and some new items were for sale but did not predominate. The staff person I met was warm and friendly and the experience very positive! Give it a whirl!

What an amazing store! I stopped in today on a whim and found a ton of adorable things that I now feel I need for my apartment. Everything is really reasonably priced, and they sell interesting vintage furniture as well as an assortment of cool retro things like tea kettles, china (some for only $1), vases, lamps, paintings, etc. I'm definitely going to head back next weekend when I have more time to look around and will probably start checking in regularly to see their new items.

I have been going to Mimi's for years, and I feel like it's rather hit or miss. However I am constantly shocked by how rude the women are who work there. They are consistently never nice. If they were not so cold I would have much better shopping experiences there.

This place is great! Prices are typically very fair for the items, they have a constantly rotating stock, and awesome pieces. Nice selection, always. :)

Thanks but no, the service was terrible. Ithaca has many places to find unique items where customers are treated with integrity and respect, this is not one of them.

Just moved to Brooktondale, NY a month ago and have been perusing Mimi's Attic a weekly basis for furniture. I hit the jackpot yesterday - found a couch, rocking chair, night tables, a dresser and a lamp all within a hour. The crew is wonderful to work with - very friendly and helpful. They have a very affordable delivery service ($60) for three large items. Their inventory changes on a daily basic so if you see something you like, you better nab it while you can. Great experience - thank you, Mimi's Attic. :D

It's been a godsend to us as we are moving out of state. They go through your stuff while you wait and give you cash (or check) on the spot for small items (furniture and other expensive items are on consignment). They didn't buy everything we brought in, but they did buy most of it. While we could have made more money with a sale, probably, this was much less work, plus no strangers traipsing around our house or posting a set of wine glasses on Craigslist. Since we're getting rid of stuff, we didn't spend a whole lot of time looking around, but it seems like you could get a lot of useful household items for reasonable prices.

When Mimi's Attic opened, I thought it was a promising place to find cool furniture. Now, the prices have doubled (at least) and the quality has decreased. We don't bother to go in there anymore because it's similar to a thrift store but the prices are very high. A lot of 80s and 90s couches for hundreds of dollars. No thanks!

I visited Mimi's Attic for the first time on a recent trip to Ithaca and was completely blown away! It was once of the coolest stores I'd ever been to - if I could have fit it all in my car I would have bought out half the store. The staff was friendly, helpful, and accessible, the products were nicely displayed and reasonably priced, and the atmosphere was comfortable. I can't wait for a return trip to Ithaca so I can visit Mimi's again!

Mimi's is great! Interesting, lovely, practical and fun things: an adventure every time you visit. I have taken in small items (for store credit) and recently arranged for pieces of furniture to be sold. Both experiences were handled efficiently, professionally, and pleasantly. Cute collection, but many things are damaged and the prices are often a little too high for what you're getting. With that said, they have some great pieces and you can find some good deals if you look closely.

I love Mimi's. I get a kick from some of the posts here complaining about rudeness. One has to work and interchange with people from Ithaca to know that there is an entitlement society within the city environments. People who are entitled (like the boor who parked in the disability spot) are so common that they don't perceive their own arrogance and rudeness....why should they. They are special and you are not. Imagine taking a parking spot from someone with a wheelchair or walker and feeling that it is OK to do so "for 5 or 10 minutes". Anyway, treat these bad reviews lightly. I have found the staff to be really helpful and accommodating. Great communication. You need to appreciate that they are very busy and may be helping someone else. Maybe you really don't deserve to just walk in and have people fawning on you. You might even have to wait your turn (shudder). If you treat people there as people you are rewarded with a great shopper/seller relationship. I used to live near Princeton. Yes, Ivy League schools have a sizeable population of very special people who are insecure. However, there are many more down to earth people in Ithaca. Mimi's has them in abundance. Great stuff. Constant changes in stock. Really good prices. Great staff.

Consistently the worst customer service I have ever encountered, and usually from the owners not the people who work there. Always rude for no reason. Anytime I ask a question, I get an eye roll, a sigh, or something of that sort. Too bad.
