A really fun experience if you want to have have one of a kind Polaroid or instax photo session with special film or frame types. You don’t need to invest in the camera or film, but can book a session at The Comet ahead of time to have your picture(s) taken. The owners are so kind and passionate about their cameras and if you’re not sure what camera or film might work for you, they will answer your questions. They have a large selection of limited edition Polaroid 600s you can purchase, film cameras, accessories and film. You don’t need a booking to visit the store if you’d like to browse the cameras or accessories, but best to reach out to them on their socials for availability for photo time slots ahead of time and there is a small upfront deposit when booking ($5-10). If you’re in the area, check it out! You’ll never know what you can learn and discover when you pop into The Comet Shop!

I really couldn’t recommend this store more for their Polaroid SX-70 repair service. They’re located in downtown Toronto, and it’s 125 CAD + a 25 dollar inspection fee. For reference, Retrospekt and MiNT charge $400++. I brought them in an SX70 camera that was effectively dead. They repaired my camera for practically 1/4 the price I saw online anywhere else, and converted it to type 600 film. I’m pretty sure this is the only store in Canada that will repair these 50+ year old cameras. That takes serious skill. The repair was timely (took about a week and a half), well executed, and they were professional in all communications. They explained to me exactly which component in my camera had broken and the repairs they did to fix it. Thank you for saving my camera!!! To anyone else: come here, you won’t regret it. PS they also had an extensive collection of many 600, folding (SX70, 680/690) and modern instant cameras.

This Polaroid shop is the real deal—part time machine, part treasure chest, and fully run by a legend. The owners run it with the perfect combo of passion, knowledge, and just the right amount of camera geekery (in the best way possible). We walked in curious and walked out feeling like retro photography pros. Whether you’re a total newbie or someone who thinks pixels are overrated, this place has everything you didn’t know you needed. Super professional service with a great vibe—can’t recommend it enough!

It was such a lovely hidden gem this city has to offer, they were so kind and patient as well as so knowledgeable. They gave me great advice on which cameras to go with weighing out pros and cons and truly they’re very educated and offer a much more intimate and genuine space for any type of photography lover. Everyone in the city must visit, it may seem small at first but they have so many camera needs you won’t find anywhere else. They’re the best and I have to go back again.

This is the first Polaroid community that I found in Canada. They provide all kinds of Polaroid camera and various Polaroid shooting session such as peel apart film, polaroid film and fujifilm instax. If you are a big fan of instant photography you must try out here.

A great experience if you are looking to dip your toes into analog photography! They have a huge selection of retro edition Polaroid cameras and 35mm film cameras! Fantastic customer experience whenever we find ourselves in the area to pick up more film or just to check out their new inventory!
