"Cañón de la Zorra (Fox Canyon) and its 40-foot waterfall are just north of Santiago, a sleepy yet charming colonial-style town 35 miles north of San José del Cabo, across the Tropic of Cancer. The hike to the waterfall takes you through oases with endemic plants and gives you glimpses into a Baja outback that existed before the region became a popular tourism destination. There’s a great area for swimming as you admire the waterfall and multicolored granite cliffs. Tip: On your trip back to Los Cabos, stop by the Agua Caliente, Santa Rita, and El Chorro hot springs about five miles south of Santiago."

Awesome waterfall with very little hike of about 400m but it’s steep mix of rocks and steps but well worth it. Entry fees of $250 pesos and USD is accepted. Cards are accepted too with 5% surcharge. There is farm with horses, goats, peacock and other wonderful animals. Plus there were fish in the pond which provided great pedicure which we enjoyed a lot. The last stretch of ride about 10kms is rough through sand and no paved roads so a 4x4 is well suited for the visit but I have seen some sedans in the parking lot. Depending on the weather the last stretch of drive could be messy without 4x4.

Beautiful waterfall. Cold water with many fish. The Rancho you enter through has a restaurant and bungalos. Santa Rita hot springs are a short drive away and worth visiting.

On Google Maps it says dogs allowed. Drove all the way out there and was greeted by a cute heeler in a sweater. Signs all over the place say no pets and my well behaved golden retriever wasn’t allowed in. Looks like a cool place.

Beautiful place in the middle of nowhere. Nice hike to the waterfall. Lots of animals around and it was a nice, cool swim at the base. Bring water or drinks. Nice place to chill for an afternoon.

Wonderful experience! The hike to the waterfall from the ecological center is not too long but it is very steep. Probably a 20 minute walk down with a series of long steps carved into the cliff. The water is cool and unbelievably clear. After swimming and exploring a while we walked up the steps and over to the longer trail that circles up to the pools that feed into the waterfall. We had this area all to ourselves. It was such a peaceful oasis. The trail to the pools is covered in loose sand/rock so you may slide a little. Just remember to keep your hands at your side and don't grab onto a cactus when you start to slide. Lesson learned the hard way.

Ah! Such an enjoyable hike to this place which is also known as fox canyon. If you want to enjoy some quiet time then recommend reaching at around 11am on a weekday. The hike needs good hiking boots and it can be really sunny so carry a hat and load up on water and sunscreen. We saw some folks jump into the deeper end and it looked super fun after a hot hike to the spot. Pristine water, take a dip and have little fish come tickle your feet! We came here with a guide in a jeep and I see the need for one. If you can get through a guide, that’s likely ideal!

Surprising little desert oasis! Fun to swim under the waterfall and see the animals nestled way out in the desert. Worth the short drive outside Santiago 👍🏼

Great canyon with some moderate to difficult paths. It is one of the few local places where you can go swimming in a river and being under the waterfall is awesome.
