"Located in the chic Da-an District, the Hotel Éclat occupies a pleasant middle ground between the city’s massive luxury hotels and the seemingly endless love hotels dotting Taipei’s accommodation spectrum. From the moment one enters the Éclat it's clear that management is enamored with art, as the lobby is adorned (almost bordering on the ostentatious) with works of art ranging from golden Greco-Roman statues to colorful paintings by contemporary artists. Rooms are bright and cheerful. All have hardwood floors, comfortable down-quilt beds, and sleek furnishing with a few antique touches (faux rotary-style desktop phones, for example) placed among the more high-tech luxury items like Nespresso coffeemakers and flat-screen monitors. The Éclat has an intimate feel to it, but those looking for a large range of facilities should look elsewhere. In this respect, the 60-room boutique hotel doesn’t try to compete with the numerous larger hotels in the area. Outside of the breakfast lounge, in-house dining choices are limited to but one restaurant, and there’s no spa, gym, or pool."

Hotel Eclat Taipei (Taipei, Taiwan) 2 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"With all the new hotel action in China proper, it’s high time Taipei stepped up its game. There are a couple of absolute gems in the Taiwanese capital, but there’s always room for more: the home-grown Hotel Éclat is a worthy addition to the city’s hotel landscape, a shamelessly luxe and flamboyantly elegant boutique hotel in the upscale Da-An district, a place which proves that it’s not all dull gray sobriety out there: the decadent strain in hotel design is alive and well." - Tablet Hotels

Husband and I stayed for 4 nights. What makes the hotel is the staff - warm welcome on arrival, at breakfast or even just walking in and out of the hotel. The artwork is interesting. Room itself a good size with everything you could possibly want. There's a lot of buttons and tech. Great power shower. TV has free movies. Breakfast has an unnecessarily huge selection - Asian, Western etc. We managed to get to complimentary hour a couple of times for some free drinks that were enjoyed. Hotel in an excellent location - under 10 minutes to a metro station - the metro system is easy to use and a perfect way to get about; also close to bars, restaurants, coffee shops, 7-Eleven etc. An enjoyed stay.

The hotel has that old-school five-star look — you can tell they spent a lot of money back in the day from all the outdated details, like the CD player and the Montblanc desk pen. But the service was honestly disappointing. The lounge staff acted snobbish, and the housekeeping felt careless. What really surprised me was the bed — the linens were high quality, but the bed itself wasn’t made properly. The mattress topper was narrower than the mattress, so it kept shifting around, making the sheets bunch up and sleep really uncomfortable. The room wasn’t cleaned thoroughly either, and the pajamas were just left unfolded, like the staff had never been properly trained. The only highlight was the Jo Loves bath products — a tasteful choice. But even that turned funny: they fixed the shampoo bottle to the wall, probably to stop guests from taking it, yet placed it so awkwardly that you have to press really hard each time, and it barely dispenses anything. All these little details just make the place feel stingy. Unless the price drops significantly, I wouldn’t stay here again.

❌: Most rediculous hotel. TV doesn’t work, room feels mody, and there has no gym (not the end of the world but I am simply shocked!) . The staff not 5 star standard but very accommodating.⭕️: staff are very friendly, there’s B&O audio love it! Great shower, location is good (may not apply to everyone but I like the quietnesses.

Comfortable and well located hotel. For room service you have to go downstairs to order then back to your room- that’s inconvenient. Good Italian restaurant in B1, very busy for a Monday evening. Outside seating area needs a makeover as dirty and peeling planters and rusty chairs. Staff willing to help. Breakfast a bit limited in choice and can’t do poached eggs!

Upon entry the great smell filled the room! Friendly service and fluent English and mandarin. The candies at the counter also very good. They do a happy hour from 5-6 where you get a complimentary cocktail! The rooms are super nice and comfiest beds in Taipei! The shower is amazing pressure with lots of options and toilet is a high tech bidet. I forgot some items and they were nice enough to bag up for me for pick up. The buffet is ok, maybe 6/10 but they do offer to cook eggs for you separately and a coffee of your choice which was nice. In walking distance to lots of shops too!

I am staying here right now and it's a bizarre experience. The rooms are great and comfortable. The location is ideal. But every time I walk into the hotel, none of the staff at reception greet you even though you walk right by them. They have their heads down, looking at a computer and never look up. It's obvious when a guest enters the hotel so they know I'm right there but it's as if they are trying very hard not to interact. This has happened 5 times already in less than 1 day. Clearly, the focus is not on customer service.

I stayed 7 nights in this hotel while visiting Taipei. The room had a lot of technology but was difficulty to use and a lot of it didn’t work— such as a very difficult to use and nonfunctional light system. I had a very difficult experience with the staff- After checking out I received a call from the hotel falsely claiming I had taken a pen from the room. I had never touched or even seen the pen in my room so there is no way I could have taken the pen and was very offended that they would accuse me of this. I don’t know if this was an honest mistake on the hotels part in inventorying the room or a scam to charge customers but am very averted to this hotel and its staff. I strongly do not recommend this hotel due to these issues with the technology and the accusations from the staff of theft.

Perfect Location for a City Tour in Taipeh. Just 15 min by Bus from City Airport. Nice Art in the Lobby and in the rooms. Plus is the Happy Hour with complementary Drinks.

Yelp
Overated hotel . Ac not working . Lousy noises at night with door busting. Location is not accesible and not near shops . No one help with luggage , under staffed , Service is average , house keeping won't clean any cups or plates . This is not a 4 star luxury hotel, you can't just add a Dyson dryer and highend sound system and claim you are. There is service level that you need to meet. We checked out early ( prepaid ) , they didn't want to acknowledge us a receipt that we checked out early. Even we didn't ask for refund . Simply not worth the torture .

Yelp
Originally did a review on TripAdvisor's in the first two days of my five night stay. Things become less satisfactory after that and trip advisors is difficult to edit so I ended up deleting that review. Here are my final review after all of my stay there. I booked a premiere room ( bigger room and third tier from the highest level) breakfast. The location was fantastic and the breakfast crew were great. The room itself was ok. The tv broke down after the third time and was not operational for two days. The shower leaked all over the outside area. And I specifically requested a higher floor room to avoid mosquitoes as I am highly allergic and did the request a month out. Yet upon my arrival I was notified of my room on 3rd floor and as they were booked out they didn't have another room to give me. So yes I found mosquitoes on the second time and was bitten a bit. But all this I could have gotten over as it seem everyone was courteous and tried to address the issues I had as best as possible. I also ask for a late check out due to my late flight and they were able to push my checkout from noon to 1pm which I appreciated. Also when asked for directions they were also equally helpful and friendly. What really irked me was the day that I checked out few hours later I received an email from the front desk manager Ruby saying they are missing one of the two robes in the room and if I took it? I called just to confirm no I did not and she asked if I might accidentally have packed it in my luggage? Who accidentally packed a giant used robe in the luggage? I was quite insulted and will not be staying here again in the future.

Yelp
One of the nicest boutique hotel I ever been. Excellent location! The room was beautiful with all the new technollogy gadgets you can imagine. Even the toilet welcome you when you get in to the bathroom!! Don't miss the opportunity to stay here.

Yelp
I'm bummed to downgrade my rating, but during my last visit I was awoken at 4am by the sound of mosquitos buzzing in my ear. By morning, I had over 2 dozen bites on my legs (and I'm allergic!). The staff quickly took care of the problem by bringing in Raid mosquito plug-ins and a tin of salve to ease the itching, but by then the damage had already been done. Would have preferred being moved to a new room instead of sleeping with mosquitos hovering in a different corner of my room!

Yelp
This hotel by far exceeds the 5 star rating, for several reasons: 1. BEAUTIFUL: This is a boutique hotel with beautiful pieces of art everywhere you look. Eclat goes out of it's way to show you they appreciate what their guest see and want to impress them from the beginning. These are not pieces I would personally buy, but I can see the beauty in them, which carried over to the rooms. I thought the overall feel was elegant and fun. 2. AFFORABLE: My deluxe room was 6,200 NTD, per night, which is about $188.00 USD. Very affordable and way cheaper than the Hyatt, I almost booked. Plus, the mini fridge with juice and soft drinks is completely free. There are also free snacks in the room: Cookies, Chips, crackers. 3. LOCATION: For me, this was an excellent location - 15 minute walk to my office - and within walking distance to so many restaurants and shops. Of course it depends on what your plans are (I did not come as a tourist), but everything I needed was within a 2-15 minute walk. There is also a beautiful tree lined walk-way right in front. Also, I did not hear a peep. It was so quiet, which I loved! 4. FUNCTIONAL: The bed, tv, shower, bathroom, closet and desk, all worked excellently for me. First, I must say the shower is the BEST I have ever had. If I ever buy a home in the Bay Area, I will custom make it to replicate this shower. One stream is movable and hand-held, the 2nd stream comes out of the top of the wall in front of you, like a "normal" american shower, and the 3rd stream shoots out of the celing. The pressure is fantastic and coming from California, I did not have to feel guilty about taking a nice long hot shower. There are wooden slats as flooring, and the shower is very large. The toilet seat is heated (very nice) with button controls. So many nice touches too: free his and hers toothbrushes plus other items in case you forgot something...and again - a FREE mini fridge, free snacks, turndown service, with a pineapple pastry on your pillow, fresh daily fruit set up in your room (Kiwi, apple, passionfruit, banana). Bed linens were AWESOME, and VERY comfortable too. I should also add that the room service food was DELICIOUS!! 5. SERVICE (most important in my opinion): Honestly, exceptional service from A-Z. When I first arrived, the staff checked me in quickly and walked me to my room, carrying my luggage, and showed me how to work everything (You need your keycard to get up in the elevator, for example). One gentleman, remembered how tired I said I was (I had just got off a 15 hour plane ride from Germany), once we got to the room and they explained a few things he stopped and he said to me that he preferred I get some rest and they would be available by dialing 9 if I need them to show me anything else. Wow, I really appreciated that attentiveness. I wanted to get a massage the next day and had no idea where to go. There were so many places. The staff provided me with a pamphlet for a place they recommended close by. He even called them to book my appointment. REALLY!? Just wow. On top of that, when it came time to leave, I had to change my flight to leave several hours early as a Typhoon was coming into town. This unfortunately meant I would have to leave by 3AM in the morning to get a cab to the airport. When I came downstairs the front desk gentleman checked me out and said the kitchen had prepared me a take-out lunch (which included a sandwich, fruit, crackers, water), as they knew I probably would not be able to grab a bite to eat anytime soon and would be tired and hungry when I got to the airport. OMG! Come on, really!? Stop it!! :) This was over the top hospitality. I'm not the queen of England, but boy oh boy I sure felt like it!! I was honestly a bit embarrassed by so much consideration and attention, but was ultimately extremely humbled that the Taiwanese people would make me feel so special and important. They knew my name at all times and offered any and all help 100% of the time. Cleaning staff were great too. In all of my travels...hands down an absolutely incredible and unforgettable experience at Eclat Hotel (and Taiwan for that matter). I would recommend them for sure. Awesome job!!!

Yelp
Beautiful boutique hotel in a great location. We found it through Amex travel. Upgraded to premiere room. Room was perfect for a couple and had a full feature heated bidet toilet, Jacuzzi tub and rainfall shower. And a Japanese massage chair which was a fun perk! The staff is friendly, attentive and most spoke English very well if that matters to you (my partner speaks Mandarin). Loved the lobby and bar area with quirky, eclectic artwork everywhere. We were there Dec 24-24th and everything was decked out in Christmas cheer, included the staff in Santa hats. This place has all those little details that show they care and is much more interesting and fun place to stay than a similarly priced big chain hotel. Highly recommend!
