While the coffees were not really special, the overall ambience of the place is quite nice. The seating area is a bit limited. We ordered a cappuccino, a filter coffee, 3 lattes and a carrot cake. The size of latte cups were good but the other two were on the small size. The carrot cake was lovely. We went in wanting to see the art gallery but couldn’t find anything.

Really loved the intentional interior details overall. Perfect way to wrap up 2025 with my husband! Cortado was really smooth and soft 💜 Barista was kind and caring when trying to capture every detail of the ppl cafe! Definitely worth checking it out!

It felt like having a drink inside an art gallery. The music and exhibits were beautifully balanced and created such a calm atmosphere. The matcha latte was perfect! none of that grassy aftertaste you sometimes get at other places, just smooth and delicious. The café is on the quieter side, with only a few small tables, so it might not accommodate too many people at once.

I loveeee this cafe!! They have excellent matcha which is rare to find these days and the cafe itself has such a lovely atmosphere. Very calm and I love coming back to check out the art gallery.

This quickly became my favorite spot for matcha and pastries. Their variety is impressive, and everything I’ve tried has been exceptional. The space itself is beautifully curated — thoughtful and inviting, and you can tell it was built with intentionality. The staff are warm and welcoming, and the community vibe here is just lovely. A huge plus is that it’s fur-baby friendly, making it the perfect place to relax and enjoy a treat with my pup. Highly recommend to check out this space. 🤍

The music was very calm. Loved the service, she was very sweet. I had ordered iced strawberry matcha latte and it worth every penny! Truely recommend.

This coffee shop has one of the best designs in the city, the presentation of their pastries and merchandise is pristine. Every detail has been thought about. The staff is also super friendly! However, the pastries were a big disappointment. Tried the coffee cake as shown and it tasted days old and stale. Considering price, enjoy the beautiful design and great coffee but maybe skip out on the pastries. Overall worth a visit!

Yelp
This place is an art gallery selling a coffee! I even forgot to take a photo of my drink It's probably my first time not taking a photo of my food when I dine out. The place is oriental themed- Korean I assume? And the ambiance was peaceful and somewhat mysterious. I'd definitely revisit when Im around this area.

Yelp
such a cute small cafe with amazing latte art~ funny that we didn't even get coffee -- we got a matcha latte and a hojicha one. i loved my matcha!! would have requested a dirty matcha but needed to give my body a break from all the caffeine the inside is very small and there is a handful of seating that was all occupied when we got there at 5pm :( but we were able to sit outside! it was just really cold and windy sadly but we made do with it till we saw somebody leave the inside! service was great! very warm and inviting vibes

Yelp
Very aesthetically pleasing. There is a little exhibit in the back which was super cute but a bit confusing because there is seating there but you can't bring food or drink. The matcha latte was very good, however the strawberry jam was too thick, it would clog my straw a lot but the sweetness was good with the matcha.

Yelp
Coffee by Joy is a new hidden coffee shop along Sterling Road (across from MOCA) opened by a young couple from Prague. The cafe uses Five Elephant beans - a coffee roaster from Germany where they offer homemade pastries. There are coffee and tea options available. There is also a selection of unique curated goods (plants, bowls, etc.) for you to browse and purchase as well. There is some seating indoors to enjoy your coffee and treats. I stopped by Coffee by Joy on a weekday late afternoon to enjoy a cup of coffee and a pastry. Upon entering the coffee shop, you are filled with a sense of zen and calmness from the cold and chaos of the outside world. I was immediately drawn to the unique selection of curated goods which included plants. Service was friendly and I opted for a cortado and a ham and cheese pastry where I enjoyed my goodies in the space. I was able to chat with one of the owners since I found it interesting that they used a coffee roaster from Germany (unlike other coffee shops here in Toronto..where a lot of them use more local roasters). Overall, a beautifully designed space with delicious coffee and pastries! Definitely will be returning for more in the future.
