Insomnia Cookies

We visited a cookie café and overall it was okay. The cookies are worth trying if you really crave something sweet, but the ice cream was disappointing. Out of the four flavors we tried, only one was actually good. Everything was extremely sweet — a real sugar overload and guaranteed carb coma 😂

Beautiful, warmer than usual winter day in South Lake Tahoe. Stopped into Insomnia Cookies for a warm delicious chocolate chip cookie. After ordering 6 deluxe cookies (Oatmeal Walnut Chocolate Chip- chefs kiss 😘), decided to indulge into trying their ice cream. As our wonderful hostess, Karen, offered samples of flavors, she introduced this signature flavor chocolate chip dream. This sample was not only delicious it had my brain in overdrive! Not because of its fabulous texture and taste, but this chocolate based ice cream is PURPLE! I am visiting from out of town, so I don't know the owners. This is an unbiased review of some amazing cookies and ice cream. Insomnia is FAR superior to their competitor across the street. The ice cream is delicious on its own. The cookies are delicious and served warm. Pair them together and prepare for heaven on earth. The people who work here are very friendly as well. None of the aforementioned conpliments apply to the aforementioned competitor. If you want cookies, ice cream, or both.-- Insomnia all day every day.

Wow—I can’t get over how good this caramel ice cream sandwich cookie is! The cookies are soft and buttery, almost like fresh-baked caramel cookies, and they pair perfectly with the ice cream. The caramel ice cream inside is insanely creamy and has this rich, slightly salty caramel flavor that keeps me going back for another bite. It’s sweet but not too sweet, and the whole thing just melts in your mouth. I’ve tried a lot of ice cream sandwiches, but this one seriously stands out. If you’re a caramel fan, you need to try it!

Went at about 12:50 am New Year's Eve/Day and we were the last customers. I was kinda indecisive about what to get, ended up getting Reese's peanut butter cup cookie and the cashier was very nice and gave me the last 2 for the price of one. The cookies are very good and when you get them as a special treat or event the price is reasonable. Definitely will visit again.

The best employees, very kind and hard working people. Definitely good cookies too. Salted caramel is my favorite.

I would give the cookies a C grade. Actually one of the cookies had shells in it! I got a nut cookie. When my friend went to bite it, there were pieces of shell in it. That was surprising. There should absolutely be no shell of the nut in the cookies itself. The other cookies and brownie I got were okay. Personally I like Nestles across the street better. That's just me!

I didn't know they opened up a cookie place in Tahoe! We had just had the dumpling place down the plaza, and we needed some sweets! Walked in and love the smell of the cookies. One thing, they serve up cookies warm! Each cookie is about 3 dollars and the cookie is pretty big in my opinion. All the flavors we got were good! Service was good, the staff was friendly. I would definitely go back to try other items on their menu.

Love how they serve up cookies warm!!! Around $3 and some change you get an average size cookie, I think that seems about right these days. If you're thinking they are the size of crumbl cookies, they are not. Custer service is great, and love how it's located right on the strip. Perfect spot to walk to for a quick sweet treat.

Been here the last few times I came to Tahoe and the cookies are always delicious and fresh. My favorite is the oatmeal chocolate walnut. They also have some ice cream choices. Service is quick and I love that they are open late! Such a good treat on the way home from the casino. It's clean inside too but be prepared to take your dessert to go.

Great customer service and delicious cookies! They're open until 3, which makes it the perfect stop for a midday treat. Highly recommend!

I was craving cookies late at night so I really appreciate that they stay open late. I am an oatmeal raisin lover and theirs totally hit the spot. The ice cream is just alright, not the best I've had, but it still satisfied the craving when paired with the cookies. Overall a solid late-night treat spot.

This was my first time ever seeing a cookie place like this, and I really like the name! I really like their set up also which I wanted to take a picture of but the gentleman that worked there was standing behind the counter the whole time or there were other customers in front of me and I didn't want to picture them. Lol. Right behind the counter, which is separated from the customers is the ice cream parlor. Behind that is a cookie warmer/oven warmer and each cookie is fully stacked on the sheet and kept warming and what looked to be like a confectioners oven. Such a great idea to give hot/warm cookies and then the ice cream instantly melt!! I really like the whole set up and it seemed very unique to have the hot cookie ice cream sandwich! I definitely want to go back and try a vegan as well as a gluten-free version of their cookie also!!

White chocolate macadamia cookie was good. On the other hand, the peanut butter chocolate chip was too toasted but not warm when we got it.

Located across of our hotel we stayed at in Heavenly. Wanted something sweet after our dinner. No seats, it's a walk in. It was almost 8pm so it seems to be closing soon. I ordered the snicker doodle and double chocolate chip. It came out warm and chocolate chips melted just how I was expecting. The only thing was the cookie was very thin which it was filling because I just ate dinner, but the regular size I ordered and how thin it was ok.

Two separate hairs! Two different cookies. This place is so good in Reno. Be better, insomnia cookies.

We were walking down SLT Blvd window shopping and came across Insomnia Cookies. I thought it was just another designer cookie shop with over sweetened cookies, but I was so wrong! These cookies were the perfect size and the variety of flavors was pretty good. We really enjoyed these as a late nite snack. Ended up getting a 6-pack and ate 3 quickly that i forgot to take a picture of the full box! Will return next time I'm in town!

Good place to pop by for sweet treats. It's a smaller storefront and fluorescent lighting, so when there's a line of 4 grown adults waiting in silence to buy cookies it leaves a desire for a funner ambiance. Would recommend the blondie!

Got the white chocolate Mac nut cookie and it was perfectly baked with a crisp outside and soft and chewy inside. It was warm and hit the spot after dinner

Best cookies I've had in a long time. Warm and fresh. Quick service, but no seating.

Cant lie, the cookies were good. But in my opinion (and MY opinion only) store bought cookies are just as good. I ordered a dozen for a friends birthday, had it delivered to my work so i didnt have to deal with all of the traffic and parking after work. The total came out to $41 that included their tip that they automatically put in in the delivery fee which I think was $3. So for 12 cookies I paid $41. They were good like I said but definitely won't be doing that again

Was craving an afternoon sweet treat so my friend and I ordered insomnia for delivery and we got the Big Dipper pack which comes with 4 cookies & an icing. We got two white chocolate macadamia cookies and two slime puft cookies n' cream cookies with the buttercream icing topped with cookie dough. The cookies were warm, fresh, and so tasty! I could've done without the dip tbh but the cookies were fire!

Ordered a brookie, some chocolate chunk cookies, snickerdoodle cookies, confetti cookies chai latte cookies. I expect them to be nice and soft moist and gooey its what u expect from freshly made cookies. So they store them in a heated tray locker thing to keep them warm i assume. They either left them in there for too long so they were not fresh or they just over cooked these cookies because these things were literal bricks.

If I could leave 0 stars I would. I placed a DoorDash order while on vacation with my family here in Tahoe and requested that my food was left at the hotel room. They left it at the front desk instead, but that's not that big of a deal. When I opened the packaging up, I received an ice cream flavor with marshmallows and Reese's peanut butter cups. I ordered two scoops of VANILLA ice cream. How do you mess that up? DoorDash is refusing to help any further as I ordered directly from them, and I can't even call them because I get an answering machine stating they're closed. They're open for another 2 hours. Beware of this place, I hate wasting my money on things like this.

This place is great for a late night treat after a night out on the town. The store is very small with no seating, so you will have to take your cookie to go. They offer regular cookies, deluxe cookies and ice cream. They can even make you an ice cream sandwich. We stopped by here a couple times during a weekend stay. I highly recommend the Reese's cookie, S'mores cookie and the salted caramel cookie. The cookies were always warm, soft and tasty!

Had high hopes after reading some of the other reviews. Considering the price, cookies were not very good, frankly somewhat stale. We went in during around noon. I am guessing we might have got cookies made the day before.

Customer service sucks! Employees do not care about the business. They don't care to make the owner/company money. We came in sometime after 11am when they should be open and ready for business. The lights were on and the door was unlocked and we went in. Immediately someone comes out from the kitchen and tells us "we are not ready to serve" no apology ,no estimated time of when they would be ready. If you are not ready for business during your business hours lock your doors. Make a sign and post it on the door so customers don't go in and be made to feel dumb for going in when you are not ready to serve them.

I love their cookies and their staff! the best cookies in South Lake Tahoe. They always make the freshest cookies and are kind and friendly. The Manager Karen is the best!

Wow, we were asked our order multiple times. Upon getting our cookies, we luckily realized, before getting too far that they had not included a brownie. My family and I were told it would be about 5 minutes, so we waited. Then another employee told us it would be another six minutes or so. During this time I watched a female employee drop at least one cookie from every tray she brought out of the back. An employee finally gave me not just my Brownie but a. Completely different order of cookies that probably belonged to someone else. Again, WOW!!

Cookies were great ... the three male staff members were rude. And for that reason we won't be back. It's unfortunate that the staff can ruin a potentially great experience.

We hit this location both nights we were in Tahoe. These cookies are SO good! We ordered over two nights: birthday cake (vegan), chocolate chunk (vegan), double chocolate mint, classic M&Ms, smores (deluxe), chocolate peanut butter cup (deluxe). There weren't any that we didn't love. Service was friendly and fast. Pricey cookies but a great evening snack after a day of hiking!

I absolutely loved their cookies! The perfect size and thickness, not overly large. We got a 6 pack variety to try and ate them all :). The carmel and classic chocolate chip were my favorites! The young lady helping us was incredibly kind and patient. Small little shop mostly for grab and go which is perfect for the area. We will be back!

Cookies were "eh." We ordered 4 different kinds of cookies and they were dry and uneventful in my opinion.

Don't miss out on this cookie shop as the name suggests, it will make you crave it all night and you'll not be able to sleep. Parking is limited as it's located on Lake Tahoe Boulevard not too far across the street from Heavenly Gondola. This is a small shop where you order from the counter and go. No seating area. Been here twice and each time the staff were super friendly! We only tried the cookies here but they also have ice cream. We ordered chocolate chunk, triple chocolate deluxe, red velvet, oatmeal chocolate walnut deluxe and peanut butter cup deluxe. Chocolate and red velvet were our favorites! Peanut buttercup could have used more chocolate imo and oatmeal a bit more butter. Overall the cookies are soft, chewy, not too eggy and so addicting! Highly recommend.

This place frequently closes earlier than stated online. It's annoying. The cookies are good but I won't come back to see if they're open when they say they'll be. "Post Midnight munchies" my butt. They have the doors locked by 11:40

We are in the area for a week and have visited a few places for cookies. We have been back to insomnia cookies twice this week. The cookies are big, very tasty and the owners are super nice. We've had the Deluxe Chocolate Chip, Deluxe Peanut butter and Snickerdoodle. We will probably be back for more before we leave.

If you are craving a nice warm gooey cookie, this is the spot to come to! Customer service was great, and the lady working was super friendly and very kind. I have to say, I did not think I would be so blown away by the cookies but I was pleasantly surprised. Highly recommend the m&m cookie, it was fantastic! Will be back for more in the future.

So delicious. Cookies were still warm and the ice cream frozen for delivery out toward Meyers. Will definitely be ordering again!

Luis was so accommodating and had great customer service! The cookies were great and a real Addition to the South Lake area.

Carly is amazing! Great help picking since I'm so indecisive with all the amazing options. She was very patient and allowed us to try the ice cream flavors. The cookies and ice cream were delicious! I would definitely come again and recommend to others.

Basic cookies to choose from, only have 6 flavors. We actually liked another cookie place better. I don't know if I would go back.

My new favorite dessert spot in Tahoe! The cookies are so soft they chewy and crispy. The flavors are fun too! We had the peach cobbler cookie with vanilla ice cream and it was amazing. The lady at the counter was sweet and helpful. We will definitely go again!

Nothing like walking into a business when you hear the words "not it" because the people in the back don't want to serve you. Finally someone came out. If RBF was an attitude...no welcome and no friendliness. Fine, customer service sucked. But the cookies were dry, hard and not even warm. It's only 9pm. I would expect that maybe at 1am but not at 9pm. Definitely not worth the money spent.

Wifey had the snickerdoodle cookie (5 outta 5). I had a peanut butter cookie with the peanut butter insomniac ice cream. The cook was solid but that ice cream was next level. Probably the best ice cream I've ever had. Like a gold medal ribbon but with crunchy peanut butter and chocolate chunks. So freakin good.

I was excited to see that this place is now open and better yet offering specials for their grand opening. Good selection of tasty sounding cookies, and the one we tried as we walked back to the car (smelled too good) was indeed tasty. I'm knocking two stars off for service, though. I specifically pointed at their "buy 4 get 2 free specials" sign as I ordered 6 classics, and they rang my order up as a "6-pack". When I asked again if they would honor the specials, they replied "oh but it's cheaper this way" which was a blatant lie (more than $4 expensive). Third time I asked, they reluctantly asked me to repeat my order and took the price down. I get they just opened and are still learning the system, but I don't accept blatant attempt at cover up; that's just not caring and sadly the exchange totally killed my excitement.

Customer service is crap. Not friendly at all. I came 2 hours before the time online said it closed and they closed early. I came the next day and the service I received was rude and not welcoming. Would be better cookies if they had a better staff. The older blonde lady especially is not the nicest.
