Even though there are some interesting and rare bottlings to choose from, the owner is neither a good host nor a bartender who creates a positive atmosphere.
For me, this is a typical ‘whisky bar’ where they prefer to serve rich Japanese businessmen who neither ask a question nor drink away the owner's ‘rarities’!
An unfriendly place no matter how much money you spend here and expensive anyway, plus the measurements given are not correct. In addition, customers are confronted with more than questionable answers, examples:
- Do you perhaps have a WiFi connection here (yes I know very rare these days....) in the shop!?? ‘No’ (while the owner is surfing the internet all the time)
- Do you also have water at room temperature? ‘No, we only serve cold water here’
- Do you have Japanese whisky rarities like Karuizawa or Hanyu? ‘No’ (later it turns out that there is at least one Hanyu on the shelf!)
There is an additional ‘table charge’ and then a 10% ‘tax’ on top of the price quoted by the owner, which is a kind of indirect rip-off, because where else in Japan or in the world are drinks, food or even everyday items in the shop listed at net price, crazy!
At least I won't be going there again. Thx for nothing....
