Duffy's Love Shack

We had such a great experience at Duffys! Great service, great atmosphere, great food in the most unlikely of places, a parking lot in a strip mall. We were traveling on a cruise and had a parasailing day at Sapphire beach (also highly recommend). When we were done, we asked someone where we could go to go shopping and get some food, at first she told us just go back the cruise shops. We then mentioned we'd really like some conch fritters, she then immediately came back with, "Duffy's! Go to Duffy's" So we take a taxi from Saphire Beach to Duffys ($6 per person) and we stop in the parking lot in the strip mall. We are looking all over the strip mall and cannot find this restaurant and then we turn around and see this little shack in this already small parking lot, but don't let that deter you, really it just positively adds to the experience. They have menus that are on small pieces of bamboo that can double as a fan(fun). The atmosphere is just what you'd want from an island bar and grill. There was great local art and chickens literally walking around. Prices were reasonable, not cheap, but for island prices really not bad. Drink prices, great! You can get a shot and get to keep the shot glass for less than a shot glass at the neighboring gift shop. Also, we like to collect logo'd bar cups and these came with our beverages. We got the "Caribbean PuPu platter". It came out in sections with the most delicious fried foods and to top it off a little mini grill to grill our pineapple on. This was my favorite, little thing. I cant say enough great things about all of the little things. The staff was EXCELLENT! Andy took such great care of us with a smile on his face and thew in a few jokes here and there. Duffy's also had shirts at a great price with what also seems to be reprints of local art, we loved these shirts and were able to secure 4 of them for less than the neighboring stores and it was just a reminder of what a great time we had there. Thank you Andy and the rest of the staff for such a memorable experience. If we are ever in St. Thomas again, this will be the first place we stop! I highly recommend Duffy's! It was the hidden gem after our trip to Sapphire Beach!

We had a great experience at Duffy’s. The grouper was so tasty and a huge portion, and I even had some to take back to my cats at the resort. The music was great and our server was very friendly and attentive. It was pretty empty (Tuesday afternoon in September) so there was plenty of seating. The breeze was awesome; the chickens/roosters were entertaining; and our kids will be thrilled with the souvenir cups we bring home!

This place never disappoints. I have never had a bad time here. But I am writing this review because the last time was especially special. The food was delicious! I cannot recommend that jerk chicken sandwich enough. I even was able to share it because it wasn't spicy. Great job. But Stephanie our server was incredible. She went above and beyond and really made this an experience to remember.

I had the island grouper and my lovely wife had the Caribbean PuPu platter. The portions were good and the taste was great. Fun atmosphere you can’t help but enjoy yourself.

Amazing lobster Wednesday deal (3 pound for ~$70 dollars) and $18 dollar for an amazing cocktail and you get to keep the fancy cup after. Did I mention amazing staff! Highly recommend

We got married in St Thomas in 2023 We picked Duffys as a gathering place for all our wedding guest it was around 40 people. The staff was above and beyond ..drinks kept coming the atmosphere was live and hype...I had the Polynesian Pupu platter(may be spelling it wrong lol) but alot of our guest followed suit it was one of the best things on the menu ..I highly reccommend it!! Honestly I was so buzzed from the excellent drinks I cant remember any staff names...but this is a must do when you visit STT or even a local!! matter of fact my wife and I are here in STT for our 2 year anniversary...I think we will drop by!!!! It intresting that its called the "love shack" we certainly fell in love with it!!!......Sooooo part 2 today Oct 7 2025. We decided to pay the love shack a visit...my how times change...We walked in sat a a table looked at the menus...and NO ONE, NOT A SINGLE EMPLOYEE, acknowledged us, PERIOD!! I went with such high expectations excited to relive our wedding experience and to tell the staff what an awesome time we had...But again that was short lived...We walked out (not noticed) the same as when we walked in...No Love at this "Love Shack" pun intended...I will just say this ...if you are a brown or black person..just keep it moving...even if you go with a crowd and the act pleased to see you...they arent!....sad sad sad times we are living in...And yes all my 5 star ratings were reduced to 1 and none....Like a wise man once told me..A good name is won by many acts...but can be lost by one!!!

I’m writing this because my family and I have loved coming here every year for almost 20 years. We were in on Sunday (Jan 4th) and while the food and music were excellent, the service at the bar was really disappointing. The younger male bartender "who did not give us his name" seemed pretty frustrated and it took a long time to get served. We also noticed the drinks weren't consistent, the same order tasted different every time. We love Duffy’s and really want to see it stay at the high standard we’ve come to expect!

If you are looking for a place to have fun and enjoy amazing food for a great price, this is the place to go! We loved it so much, we went back two nights in a row! But this was not our first time being here. We came to eat here two years ago and just knew this would be our go to restaurant any time we were here on the island. Shall I suggest, you get one of the 2 pu pu platters that are on the menu. It will serve 2-3 people, depending how hungry you are.They both are so delicious! Arthur was our bartender/server (we ate at the bar) and his service was impeccable! They have a huge array of specialty drinks and shots that if purchased, you get to keep the glass. I promise you will not be disappointed! ♥️♥️♥️

What a cool and eccentric place to eat and hang out at! We went there 3 times in the week we were in the USVI. They have the best jerk chicken I've ever had and our server Erica made us feel welcome and was the best part of the experience! Make sure you stop here if you visit, you won't regret it!

Don't miss out on this place, It really is the cutest lil parking lot bar! We didn't realize it was a tiki bar before walking in, so that was a pleasant surprise. We're probably blind lol. Service was friendly and timely. We sat at the bar and got served right away. They have a quirky menu, I love all the different tiki drinks. They have the drinks you'd expect, and some funky ones too. We did the shot with a souvenir glass and I got the monkey drink. (I forget what it's called). Food was typical bar food. Their onion rings were perfectly crispy, not soggy or under cooked. I'd totally come back here, I need to collect more mugs! **we went back for round two ** completed the whole "Hear No, See No, Speak No" set. Plus added two more. Had the best mojito I've ever had. Husband got the loaded jerk chicken nachos and I got Leroy's Catch of the Day. Both delicious meals. Service was great, yet again. Such a great vibe, we'll miss this place, and proudly display these tiki mugs at home!

Had a good time at Duffy for a quick drink. Bartenders are quick and friendly and the atmosphere is what you want for a tropical vibe. Heads up that there is a 20.00 minimum to use a credit card. Parking can also be an issue so come early!

This place was one of my favorites on the island. Literally located in a parking lot, it wasn't screaming "island vibes" until we we walked up. The music was on point, super cute decorations, our bartender was SO friendly, super chill vibes, and STOUT drinks. Their HH deals were amazing too. They have daily specials so be sure to check into those as well.

This is a fun little funky spot that infuses some Asian flavors with bar food. I had the fish and chips which also included a creamy coleslaw. The fish batter was nice and crunchy and I loved the coleslaw. It's in front of a strip mall parking lot as an open air structure so the ambience is not important here ... I enjoyed its casual atmosphere. I also had the Mango Tango drink which was refreshing - reminded me of a mai tai. Unfortunately we had one order out of the 10 of us, that was mixed up twice but the kitchen got it right the 3rd time. Other than that, the price was right, the service was good and the food was tasty.

We stopped by Duffy's Love Shack bar during a break from shopping in the Red Hook area, St. Thomas. It's an open-air place located on the side of a strip mall parking lot. Nothing fancy about this place... just drinks and bar food. The menus are delivered on little tiki paddles, a bit creative! We opted not to dine at Duffy's because nothing on the menu really appealed to us, and the food we saw on tables did not look that appetizing. But we did hit the specialty cocktail menu! We had the Pirate Painkiller (Pusser's Gunpowder rum, pineapple and orange juices and cream of coconut) and the Guava Berry Smash (guava berry liqueur, Hurricane 137 rum, strawberries and guava nectar). Both cocktails were good, and consistent with similar drinks around the USVIs. Both drinks came with cute little accents on the top. And, Duffy's has it's share of chickens running around, a common sight on St. Thomas. With so many better drink/food options in the Red Hook area, we'd likely not go back.

Dropped in for drinks and snacks, great service and drinks, conch fritters were great and the sauce to dip. If you're in Red Hook, stop and have signature drinks.

A lot of the staff in St Thomas don't know how to nail service. The waitresses at Duffys know how to recommend items to you, keep your drinks filled, and then also do it with a friendly smile. I felt very welcomed here. The burger was actually pretty good for the price that I paid for it. I also really enjoyed the fresh lobster caught within 24 hours. I was skeptical to go here because it looked like yet another bar, with more bar food, but I enjoyed my food here.

Ayfkm? Just go It is flat out fantastic food drinks vibe this place is way up high on the down low enjoy!

Fun as hell for people who enjoy simple the simple life. If you have to read through the menu to decide whether to sit down you've already missed the point

I love dive bars and gauge the level of dive by its hours of operation. Duffys is open till 2am so plan accordingly. If you want to miss the full debauchery just go earlier cause it's worth it! If you want strong drinks and a show of people watching go a lil later. It is in a parking lot. You're not going for the views but will have a great time! Bartenders were on it, food was great (you can get jerk chicken 5 different ways) and for sure will go back!

A must do when on island, if you can't have fun here you are missing out! It's been here forever that alone says a lot! It's a unique open air bar in a parking lot that plays fun music and when the "love shack" song comes on the big shark hanging on the wall goes into action, the place fills with dry ice smoke and bubbles! Definitely picture and video worthy! The drink menu is vast and they have tons of souvenir merch you're going to want. The down side? One small bathroom outside that you have to do a walk of shame and carry an actual toilet seat which holds the key to get in...

The jerk chicken matches are our favorite food when we come. Boat drinks are amazing too. Service is top notch. We highly recommend this place.

I found this place online. We decided to stop and give it try when returned from St John, since we were on that end of the island. (Red Hook) The menu is pretty simple. The drink menu is a little more extensive in my opinion. I wanted to try the pu pu platter but I wasn't that hungry. I opted for the teriyaki burger. It was very juicy. There was no teriyaki flavor, but was good with the pineapple. The fries were good as well. I did try it with my hubby's bbq sauce and it made the flavor a lot better. He enjoyed is popcorn chicken; to me nothing special - definitely needed the bbq sauce. Would I return?? Hmmm... if there was nothing else open; but I wouldn't make a special trip that far to go there again. Johnny was awesome - being his 4th day! He may be new there, but it's no way he's new to the service industry. THANK YOU JOHNNY!

Went back and got the Caribbean Platter . I like the Polynesian better. Drink continued to be very good. Atmosphere remains the same and fun. And, our server this time was great! For a bar in the parking lot... 5 stars

Went to Duffy's multiple times during our recent trip to St. Thomas. Food, drinks, service, and atmosphere were fantastic! Can't wait to go back.

Great food and great vibes. YOU EVEN GET SOUVENIR CUPS!!! we got the catch of the day fish sandwich - 9/10 & the fish tacos - 7/10 The server we had let me choose the cup to put whatever drink I had in which was beyond generous. There was also a cool shark show. Video below.

Shack in a parking lot.... Heck yes! Duffy's is a hidden gem. The ambience they created in the shack is one of kind, so much so that you forget you are in a parking lot. There is a giant great white shark on the wall and when a certain drink is ordered they play the jaws theme noise and the shark snaps, it was an experience after a few drinks with the family. The conch app and mahi tacos were elite. We enjoyed our unique cocktails as chickens roamed the floors (seriously), this place rocks. They were very busy and understaffed.

Food was mediocre. Service was slow. Ordered extra tartar sauce which never showed up. Brought my wrong drink at first. Lobster special wasn't being offered. There are many good places to dine at on St Thomas. We probably will not return to Duffy's.

We came here on a Sunday night, it was very busy. My husband had two painkillers, they were very strong. The bartenders are very good and very friendly. We ordered the fish and chips, it was very good. My husband also got a burger to go and said it was good. We loved the fries that came with the fish and chips, but the fries with the burger were not as good. It's a divey touristy spot, but perfect for what it is. Bathroom not great.

Typical overpriced for tourists bar food, but the drinks are amazing and definitely poured with a heavy hand. I would def come here just for drinks alone. It was nice to sit outside and enjoy our meal and our waiter Joe was really cool and friendly. We had great conversations. I def recommend getting the souvenir cup option for your drinks as they come with cute little knick knacks and a souvenir glass. You can also keep the regular small plastic drink cups if you choose.

I hated this place. Gross, loud, no kitchen in sight. I don't know where they are getting the food from. It is no doubt microwaved somewhere. I don't know why everyone on the island claims to love this place. I was looking forward to some local Caribbean flavor but it was nothing special.

Excellent bartenders and it's such a fun vibe!! Definitely make sure you get at least one drink in a souvenir cup to take home.

The burgers are delicious! The service was quick and attentive. The establishment is clean and they have a ton of souvenir cups and shirts!

Been on the island just a few days but been to Duffy's twice. Awesome atmosphere but even better service. Baby Jesus is the F'n man. Our crew loves him and Duffy's and will be back before we leave. Thanks for making us feel so welcome!

The food and the ambience were amazing. Very well priced, good service and the night vibe was just what I was looking for. I walked throughout the whole Red Hook, and this was the one.

Crowded place. Food is good. Coconut shrimp really good. Went a second time well we tried to get food to go but wouldn't do it after 6. A bit annoying but I guess kitchen is tiny.

This restaurant was amazing! It is probably the best restaurant that is in a parking lot! The vibe is super cool and the cups they have their drinks in have so much decoration. My favorite was the shark tank which was a large bucket of a rum drink that looked like island water and had sharks in it. The best part was their dessert. They had a tray of a S'mores kit that everyone could share. They also give you some souvenirs during the process! Overall, this bar does deserve 5 stars!

We fell for the hype of the "restaurant/bar in a parking lot" setup at Duffy's. The food was just ok (but not memorable) and service was not great (slow and the waiter got my order wrong even though he specifically said salad when he wrote it down - but brought me a sandwich). They have an extensive bar list, and most of their cocktails come in themed keepsake glasses for an extra fee. We went on Margarita Monday, and our drinks came in a plastic drink shaker but they felt a little watered down and it was served with a small plastic cup. I recommend coming here for a fun drink, but moving elsewhere for dinner.

A bar in a parking lot! What's not to love. Great, friendly service here too. Big specialty shot menu, lots of drink options and cold beer. The atmosphere is unique and pretty cool. I've been in a lot of bars. This is the first and only in a parking lot. Cheers.

Ohhhhh myyyyy Ghhhaaawwddd! This is one of the most unique restaurants I have been recommended to go and I'm happy I did. My boyfriend and I are visiting for our anniversary and this was such a gem to find. Our chauffeur mentioned for us to check it while here in St. Thomas. Our waitress was so sweet and giving that Caribbean charm. She was fast, sweet, and offered great recommendations. I got the Caribbean Pu-Pu it was soooooo good! Everything I was asking for when I was craving me some Caribbean cuisine, my boyfriend got the Sunset burger. The cock tails were amazing! They were such a great feature. It was a bang for our buck and definitely going to come back when I return.

Loved this place, we even came back for happy hour later in the week. I think we all have about 4 souvenir glasses or more, haha. If you ask the bartender they can make the shark chomp his teeth and the place fills with scented smoke and they place Love Shack. Very affordable little place in Red Hook. The food was good, too. We basically snacked on appetizers until we were stuffed. I highly recommend visiting if you are on island, and they do get busy at happy hour.

We walked in and not greeted. The only person working seemed to be the bartender. He didn't acknowledge us either. We sat ourselves and sat for 15 Minutes. Nothing. Guess what? - we let ourselves out. Get your act together! I guess our cash wasn't green enough.

My girlfriend and I stopped in to Duffy's after a long day of traveling and then finding out that our condominium complex had no power. So let's just say I needed a drink and Duffy's did not disappoint. If you are looking for a quiet and romantic bar then Duffy's is not that place. It's a fun and lively place which I love. My girlfriend and I both had their pain killer which was awesome! It helped ease my pain of the long trip and the power outage. For $3.75 happy hour price it made me really happy. Duffy's has a wide variety of drinks and food which I will explore when we come back. The bartenders were all nice and laid back. Loved the atmosphere. If you are looking for a fun place in redhook.. Duffy's is the place. Duffys has happy hour everyday which is awesome and there is parking because Duffy's is located in a parking lot. FYI... it does get busy at night so enjoy!

Bartender Todd was great! The lobster was amazing! We had a great time, although the music was a bit too loud.

I didn't know what to expect based on reviews, but I am glad we went. It took about 30 minutes to get a table, but we were able to walk around the shops across the street while waiting. They called us when our table was ready. The restaurant is located on the parking lot. It is open to air, but they do have inside and outside seating. The bar is inside. They have good drinks and if you want a souvenir cup, they have the option to pay a little extra for the drink for the cup. Some of the cups are cute and the menu will let you know which cup you will get. I ordered the lime in dee coconut and the trophy wife shot. The lime in dee coconut was just what I expected. It came in a real coconut and I was able to eat the coconut meat once done. The trophy wife shot was tiny. Not worth it. The wacky pineapple was probably the best drink of the night. It was sweet, but not overpowering. For food, we started with the conch fritters. They reminded me of hush puppies. I couldn't really taste conch, but overall they had a good flavor. The taco salad with the catch of the day was so good. The catch of the day was the Mahi Mahi. It was grilled and had a good flavor. The fish sandwich wasn't anything special. Just a typical sandwich. The fries weren't great, but the coleslaw was good. The servings were big enough to fill us up. Parking is available on site, but shared. Depending what time you go, it may be difficult. We went at 8pm on a Saturday and was able to find parking easily.

Great food, best lobster on the island. Great service and environment. Highly recommend. Arrive at Duffy's early if you don't like waiting.

December 4, 2022 and out party of 6 went for lunch. Great as always!! Bartender/server JW? put some tables together for us, was patient, and shared in some laughs about the chickens (in the surrounding area), and some of the cocktail names (passionate kiss by Travis). The Carib Pu-Pu appetizer great selection. It was joyed by all of us. The Cuban sandwich is definitely a go to choice. The Ahi tuna salad not only looked great but was perfectly prepared too. And the jerk taco was great.

My friends and I were looking for a fun bar to go to for our last night. This bar had amazing themed drinks. I got the Dr themed drink that came with pop rocks and glasses. My friend got the shark tank drinks which comes with four shots!

Cool , relaxing bar with great food ,,, Drinks were good !!! We drove from the other side of the island at night so didn't get to explore the drink menu as we would like to but the food was great !!! I had the steak n fries !!! Amazing streak , listen it's a thin cut steak so it's either rare ,medium or well !!!( for the annoying steak ppl) Chilled vibe great food

I got my conch fritter fix, and then some! This is the 4th time I've visited St. Thomas/St. John and I basically live on conch fritters throughout the duration of my stays. This was the first trip spent predominately on St. Thomas, so I somehow had missed this place up until now! Very cool little bar/restaurant with a nice vibe and a fun waitstaff. I went in with the expectation of sitting down just long enough to stuff my face with an order of conch fritters... That quickly turned into multiple orders (licking the dipping sauce containers clean because it is so good?!?), a couple of their signature Lime in Dee Coconut drinks, and then I think our waiter suggested the Zoom Zoom shots- Why the heck not! It was a fun outing. I will be back next time I visit the island.

Save your time and money - The service is horrible here, just can't get my time back. Waited 15 minutes to be asked if we wanted anything to drink, another 45 minutes to get the food... then it's the wrong food. Basic Nachos ! We offered to just eat that food but she took it and ran off with it. Terrible place, no one gives a sh#^* It's not personal, there are other ppl waiting around then just walking out.

Loved the ambiance here. Fun at night but kind of hot because you're outside. Drinks were good but everything was some what expensive for the quality. Just basic bar food. Loved that the menu was on a stick! Cute!

This place honestly sucks in comparison to what it use to be prior to Covid and the last 2 major hurricanes. Been coming to the islands almost consistently since 2005, but had not been back since 2019 this time. Brought friends with us and their first experience and i have to say they did not great us like they usually do. Sarcastic comments made by staff about happy hour. The sever was rude as all get out and snapped at my better half for no reason what so ever. They were not impressed at all. We didn't go back and we won't go back - in addition we will stop telling our friends to go there. Normally we would have been there every day. When we mentioned our experience to others on the island including business owners they said they were not surprised. Wow that speaks volumes. It's a shame that such a fun business has gone to crap.

Fun vibe good drinks get service overall. Very nice place for kids as well. Had a live band which was cool.
