ODDSSON hotel

We stayed a week here in a triple room with small kitchenette. Therr are usb ports near bed to charge phones (no usb-c for iphone). We had the windows open every night which help with circulation of heat in the room. We used kitchenette to make our dinners since eating out would be expensive for us each night. Under 10 minute walk to bonus, kronan and hagkaup grocery stores. We rented a car so we utilized the garage parking. It is only 16 spots so first come first serve. If you make it back before dinner time spots were easy to get. Only one night we had to street park since we came back so late. I just made sure I moved the car back in garage before businesses opened where I parked for scared of being towed. We also utilized their breakfast buffet daily. Obviously not a american breakfast we are use to but it was filling for sure. We had no problem getting our code via email the day before and had useful information in the email as well. We did have to use the virtual reception which is by email and they are very responsive. Yes it is a hotel but has the feel of a hostel in some ways but we enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

It's ok for a few nights, rooms are comfortable however our room was not cleaned once in 4 nights! At the end of our stay we saw an poster that you're supposed to ask for your room to be cleaned, but we didn't have this information in advance. Staff are friendly but there is no reception, so you have to call them if there is anything you need. Free parking is a plus but difficult to find. Good location for pick ups and there are a few buses to city centre.

Nice hotel. Very clean and modern. We had to call when we got there as our code hadn't been emailed to us. Rooms a little small for two people living in them for a week and it would have been nice to have a microwave or fridge in individual rooms vs just one in each of the hallways. Breakfast is amazing and included in the room price. Also really loved the access to the secure storage room before check in.

The hotel is spotless! The bathrooms have heated floors! There is no reception desk so they give you the code to get in and to your room beforehand. I was a little worried about this, but it was not an issue at all there is a phone in the lobby for any issues. The breakfast is the best! Assortment of breads, hot oatmeal, fresh yogurts, fruits meats and cheese. A waffle area not Belgian but Icelandic waffles very good. Always had mini croissants and some kind of fresh pastry. The breakfast staff are delightful, keeping things refreshed and clean, they are also extremely helpful with the million of questions we had about the area. There is no AC in the hotel and most of Iceland, The evening bar person gave us a fan for the room. The evening bar is limited but great for a quick drink before bed. They also have 2 kinds of soup every night that you can purchase with bread. The room we had was a room with twin beds that were comfortable, room was smallish but really we only slept and showered there. Cannot give the Oddsson enough stars for service and cleanliness!

This might pertain more to US visitors The good: Nice clean hotel. Beds were comfy. Good location to walk to things like the Botanical Gardens. Large breakfast buffet with many choices. Good response time when emailing questions. The bad: The biggest issue is that half the rooms are on a busy street. They provide ear plugs but who wants to wear them to sleep. Heated bathroom floors which are a positive and a negative. In the summer they are a negative because they heated the room. You could not turn them off. I had to leave the windows open which made the above issue worse. No tissues or paper towels. Breakfast buffet did not have any cooked eggs or meats other than hard boiled eggs.

I've stayed here a few times over the past 3 years. Good location for me for the sports stadium. Equally good location for outlets and perlan. Noted the loss of the bar in the evening time earlier this year. Nevertheless the buffet breakfast is great in variety and quality. During the day or evening time there are numerous walkable sources for food to bring back to be eaten in the dining area , just remember to tidy up after yourself. The large supermarket has a large choice or theres several pizza offerings across the road Apart from breakfast you'll not see staff as doors have keypad access. Rooms are nordic style, functional but always warm. Even in my january visits I've slept with the windows open. The showering area in my rooms was large and the supplied toiletries are addictive. There's a fridge on each floor but none in the rooms i have stayed. There's a microwave and coffee machine in the dining area which makes up for none in the room. The hotel is very clean and safe. I began to use the bus transportation rather than the taxis across the road. Google maps bus helped as i was able to navigate to sky lagoon and the lighthouse easily from the hotel, at little cost, while getting a closer look round Reykjavik. The outlet shops across the road include 66 north and icewear selling last years stock at a much reduced price. Don't be concerned about having no evening bar or entertainment, seriously get yourself out downtown and live your best life. The hotel is a great base, and the great variety breakfast ensures you can fuel up for a days exploring. One visit a snow storm hit and the hotel was able to let me stay another night as the flights were being cancelled. I appreciated them accommodating my request. The airport bus can pickup from the hotel as does some of the day trip excursions I've been on. Must mention, i took one of my athletes one evening, to a repurposed garage which is 50m away, for tasty burger and fries.

This place was a TOURISTS NIGHTMARE! Its clean and beds are comfortable BUT everything else was HORRIBLE! There’s no people at reception it’s a 24/7 phone so there’s no one to help guests which is a horrible policy to have. Especially since they didn’t even send us the correct codes and room numbers in the email. And to boot there’s only 16 parking spaces for the entire hotel!!! 16!!! Plus the parking garage is so tight you have to make a 6 point turn just to get in and out. Of course these spots filled up and the website says to “utilize street parking” -again we’re tourists how can you expect people to know what streets you can and can’t park on. This hotel is NOT for you if you’re a tourist find a place with an actual reception not a phone line! It’s directly off a main road so we had no clue where to park and circled around for 30 mins at 1am. We booked 2 rooms but had to call to get the code and number for one of them as they only sent us 1 room and code. Seriously a headache to deal with on our last night in Iceland. AND the window won’t stay open so if your trying to cool off the room GOOD LUCK! This place is ridiculous and needs some major service updates!

Wonder quaint and quiet hotel. Staff is very friendly while there is no front desk you don't miss it. The breakfast buffet has something for everyone and wonderfully staffed. There is a dinner of lamb soup nightly that I highly recommend you try if staying...and a bar! Try local vodka! The floors are heated, rooms are meticulously clean and so is the lounge. Conveniently located near grocery stores and restaurants. 45 minute walk to downtown but the bus stop is right across the street
