Dear Strangers? Yes, they certainly treat you like one! This place is not good. They seemed unprepared to handle restaurant week. There weren't enough servers to handle the crowd and that was reflective in our dinner service. Despite being checked in on 0 times and having to flag them down for water, to order, and to get our check, their attitude wasn't warm or accommodating at all. It even came off like we were bothering our server when asking for basic things. The food was subpar. Didn't try the drinks. Maybe that's the savior? -Tuna tartare acceptable; nothing to write home about -Chicken dumplings tasted like chicken but had no bite to it. Weird and served on paper that resembled a crumpled receipt or used tissue. -Chicken cutlet was warm and soggy. No truffle flavor as advertised on the menu. Some creativity points for the accompanying foam dip but it didn't work. -Beef short rib was tasty but the single potato that come with it felt insulting and cheap. Really? One potato? -Pecan pie dessert and sorbet were really good. Sad way to finish, only enjoying the final course. Ambiance was good. Floors were super slippery because they were tiled on a snowy day. They should warn their guests about that. Lots of work to be done here and I will not be around to see it through!

A perfect blend of high-end restaurant and cocktail bar. The food is unique and delicious, and the drinks are thoughtfully crafted to match both the menu and the vibe. Easily one of the most underrated spots in NYC.

We were celebrating the NYE here and we had a blast! The food was delicious, the service was really good, there was a DJ present and not to forget about the cocktails, but they were really good as well. We will definitely be visiting again!

We had such a good experience here. We only came for a couple of cocktails before our dinner reservations down the street. Our bartender was very friendly and made some incredible drinks, some of the best cocktails we’ve had. I had “Panama Papers” followed by “House of Rye” and my girlfriend had “Gatsby Lady” followed by “Angie”. All the drinks were very tasty but “Angie” was probably the best cocktails we’ve ever had, very well balanced. Will definitely be back!

The bartenders to the servers were impecable. The cocktails were delicious. We stayed for two more than we intended. Ended up ordering food and it was just what we needed. I would come back here for the vibe itself

If you’re looking for a spot in NYC with delicious food, impeccable service and an atmosphere that is both effortlessly cool and warm and inviting, then you must check out Dear Strangers. I was there with a group of friends but noticed how perfect of a date spot it would be! Our server was Raina, she was knowledgeable, attentive and friendly. Every dish was thoughtful and beautifully executed. The Aguachile and Smoked Chicken Dumplings were my favorites! All of the food was fresh, and absolutely delicious! Overall, Dear Strangers was a five star experience and I can’t wait to go back!

Came here on a Friday night and the restaurant was at capacity. I recommend getting a reservation in advance. They had a Restaurant Week menu, which was a very good deal given their regular menu prices. The food and vibe were great!

Dear Strangers is a wonderful hidden gem! We celebrated Valentine's Day there last night and while the restaurant was incredibly busy, we never felt overlooked or underserved. The owners were milling around making sure everyone was well taken care of and the wait staff were kind and personable. Now the food...AMAZING!!! Every bite we took was wonderful and so surprising with creative combinations and gorgeously presented. The restaurant itself was hip and refined and seemed to be the happening spot of the night. We will certainly be back!
