"The first Andaz—Hyatt’s line of spirited, urban properties—in Asia, this curved tower with a webbed-style exterior sits in the entertainment hub Xintiandi, known for its traditional Shanghainese Shikumen architecture (narrow homes typified by stone gateways). We had great experience staying in the hotel. The customer service accommodate our request without extra charge. The happy hour in the afternoon is such a great value. Location is super convenient. Gym and pool are nice. We really enjoyed our stay and will come back!

We stayed for 5 nights on the six floor. Very convenient locations. I have to say that this is the best part of the hotels. Basically across the street from all the dining, drinking and shopping area. Staffs are friendly. A bit of wear and tear in the room but nothing major but also makes it not luxurious feel. The Blue Bar in the lobby is nice but staffs are inexperienced in services. Beds are super comfy, the pillows not so much. Still had a good night of sleep. There was no noise from outside despite being on the sixth floor. Overall we enjoyed the place.

Room Size is perfect . Good Service. i asked for Blanket and adapter ,thenstaff bring them to my room quickly. Daily mini bar are free of charge . Dinner Buffet ‘s very amazing for me. Good quality and good value.staff at reception “Fiona” She’s very nice and friendly.

This Andaz is dated and not so well maintained. There are minor wear ans tear that can ve easily spotted. This Andaz is definitely below average Andaz. The best thing about this place would be its location, steps away from Xian Tian Di, shopping malls, cafes, restaurants, easy access. Room is decent size, bathroom is ample size. The lit wash basin feel cool back in the day but dated now. Bedding is comfortable. No coffee machine in room but free 24 hr coffee machine in the lobby. Breakfast is alright, but fell below Andaz breakfast standards. Food is decent, good selection but rather average.

Extremely bad experience since we first stepped into the hotel. Very disappointing for a 5-star hotel from the Hyatt chain. Old room and poor quality of provided amenities e.g. towel, duvet, TV, AC||||We were already quite tired from the long immigration process at the airport and the check-in process took more than 30 minutes!! (I booked 3 rooms for 7 people). ||||The assigned reception staff manually input passport details one by one - usually the standard protocol would be to photocopy the passport details for efficiency (this was what other hotels we stayed in Shanghai also doing). When the other staff members were free, no one offered to help reduce check-in workload to speed-up the process. There were no seating areas at the reception, at least we were not offered or guided to sit while we're waiting to get our room keys, so we were all standing at the small reception area for over 30 minutes. No details on the hyatt membership privilege were explained, we had to ask later (once we manage to get some rest...) ||||The room was old and had dusty smell, some of the amenities were not of a 5-star hotel standard I experienced. Old TV and AC, cheap thin duvet and towels that would give lints all over your wet body when wipe with it. ||||The only 2 upsides were its excellent location and well-equipped gym, then again, there's a better hotel choice right opposite, newer and similar price range.

One of the most magical toilet designs I have seen in a hotel!! Room was clean and spacious, and let me just tell you the showers and baths we had in there were perfect! It’s warm, it’s cosy, it helps you to relax. Such a lovely design and we would love to go back:)

I gave one star for its location. Otherwise I will give it 0 star. ||The facility is very old. The sink and bath tub have weird light which makes it looks very dirty. ||The room is not clean. See the picture, this is what we found in our room. Reported to the staff however there is no one even come to apologize. ||I will not stay here again and will not recommend it to anyone.

Here's the honest but harsh truth. This place is basically a trap for those looking to use their amex credit. It's like $230 USD a night. But the value of the comparable hotels is probably $125-140. So you can use your credit sure, but it's extremely overpriced for that reason. The breakfast is also absurdly priced. It's $40 USD for a spread of breakfast foods that would cost $2-4 on the streets of Shanghai. It doesn't make sense. The hotel is nice. It's clean. It's extremely western. The gym is decent. Basically everyone here is a foreigner using their amex credit or on a business trip. Its just not worth the money. Also our non smoking room smelled like smoke. We moved to a different one and it was fine though.
