I recently visited Gettó Gulyás and had a mixed experience, with some positive aspects but also notable disappointments. I tried the Hungarian Goulash 'Alföldi' Style with Sourdough Bread, which was delicious—the meat was tender and cut into small pieces, and I really enjoyed it a lot. It wasn't spicy at all, which suited me fine, though those looking for heat might want to ask for extra paprika on the side. The portion was on the smaller side, bordering on mediocre, but the quality made up for it.
The assorted pickles were okay, with some being spicy (like the stuffed pepper).
The Roasted Bone Marrow with Toast was okay but didn't live up to the hype I've heard from others. It was enjoyable enough, but not as exceptional as expected.
Overall, the food was good, and the goulash stood out as particularly excellent. The waitstaff were respectful.
One major disappointment, though, was at the end when we asked for the bill—the waiter added a 12% tip automatically without asking or mentioning it. I don't think that's appropriate; tips should be optional and based on the customer's discretion, not added silently. It left a sour note on an otherwise pleasant dinner.
