I don’t recall exactly why I first chose this hotel, but my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our two-night stay at this boutique property in November 2025. Our room on the 11th floor was spacious, quiet, and exceptionally clean. My wife, who is very particular about cleanliness, was especially impressed with the pristine condition of the bedsheets. The hotel’s location is excellent—close to the MRT station—and the Taiwan Ubike system proved especially convenient. Every destination we planned to visit during our two-day trip was easily reachable within a 30-minute ride. We also appreciated the complimentary breakfast; service was prompt, and the food was both flavorful and satisfying. If there is an area for improvement, it would be the Wi-Fi speed, which consistently tested below 20 Mbps for both upload and download. Additionally, enhancing the lighting at the main entrance and ensuring the glass panels remain spotless would help elevate the property’s overall first impression. Overall, this was a delightful stay that exceeded our expectations and we will definitely revisit for many more nights to come.

Room service was great—housekeeping cleaned and tidied my room every day throughout my 5D4N stay. The location isn’t the most central, but it’s easy to find since it’s along the same alley as the station exit between Taipei Arena and Nanjing Sanmin. Breakfast was provided during my stay and it was overall pleasant, plus everything looked aesthetically pleasing. I gave the hotel 4 stars because the carpet area outside the bathroom seemed a bit mouldy, which honestly made me uncomfortable.

The hotel’s location is pretty good, but they only have one elevator, so you always end up waiting. The main reason we booked this place was because they stated on Expedia that they had a washer and dryer — that was why we chose this hotel. But after we checked in and called to ask about it, the front desk told us their dryer had been broken for a long time, and basically said it was up to us whether we still wanted to wash our clothes (which basically meant don’t bother, because nothing would dry — and it happened to be raining in Taipei for an entire week). There was absolutely no apology or any backup plan at all. It was so ridiculous. In the end, we had no choice but to go to an outside laundromat to do our laundry.

The location is very convenient, with easy access to many destinations. The staff are friendly and helpful. While the room is a bit small, it’s compact and efficiently designed, especially considering the very reasonable price. There’s a large window, though it doesn’t offer much of a view. There’s no gym or fancy decor, but the hotel offers practical amenities, including laundry service. Breakfast is included and provides a variety of choices. Overall, this will definitely be my choice again when visiting Taiwan.

We enjoyed staying here the location makes the price worth it. The room was nice but the tub was too small for my liking and the shower drained really slowly. The staff and location was great and so was the spa discount voucher.

It’s a great stay at Hotel East Songshan, room is great, bed is huge and bigger than normal king size, washroom is very clean and like Japanese style with shower and tub. Front desk lady Kathy offered excellent customer service, from checked in to check out, very patient and courteous, no matter in person or over the phone. She always trying to help and offer the best to accommodate guest’s inquiries, always comes with very sweet voice. Will come back to stay here again in the future.

This was our second stay at this hotel. We didn’t realize that some rooms are Japanese-style without a bed frame, which can be inconvenient for seniors who may have difficulty getting up from the floor. Unfortunately, we were also unlucky — the air conditioner was broken during our stay, and it happened to be the hottest day when we arrived. That said, all of the staff were very helpful, especially Kathy at the reception. She went above and beyond to support us, and we truly appreciate her effort! The hotel is very budget-friendly for Taipei, though the rooms are quite small. If you have large suitcases, it can be tricky to open and close them in the limited space. Other than that, the service was excellent, and we still enjoyed our second stay!

Terrific location. Front desk staff and cleaning staff are super nice and endearing, and very helpful and courteous :) Bedroom and bathroom are very nice and comfortable. Got a good price especially considering how saught after this hotel is. Definitely recommend
