Karen Vintage Boutique @293

Visited this fashion shop a few months ago with my friend, and let’s just say it was an experience! We walked in with a box of cake (not eating it inside, just carrying it like normal humans do), and despite being perfectly polite, well dressed, and respectful, we were met with a very aggressive “get out.” But the real gem? After leaving, I get publicly accused of having “sticky fingers”, excuse me? Is this a fashion shop or a crime scene investigation? Their reply to my review is almost as wild as the experience itself. Maybe next time I’ll bring some wipes... or a lawyer?

I came across the most gorgeous little shop in Portobello this morning and I just had to leave a review. I’ve had a life long love of vintage clothing but of late I have found it increasingly hard to find genuine quality vintage goods sold at fair prices. Do not listen to the bad reviews, they could not be further from the truth. Here, you get a personalised shopping experience and you are made to feel incredibly welcome. I told the shop assistant what I liked (1930’s/1950’s pieces) and the items I was presented with were truly stunning. Thank you to the ladies who work here, you’ve made my weekend. Highly recommend this place!

Karen is a fantastic curator. The selection in store is amazing and she has some hard-to-find, drool worthy pieces! I tried on a hand painted water colour gown and instantly fell in love!

Racist shopkeeper treated me like a criminal for no reason. Had to buzz 3-4 times to be allowed in and was escorted out with a card. I declined the card and left. (Edit after their reply: I did not bring any items into their store so falsely accusing people of having stolen items when they themselves are reselling market clothes at 10-20x the price they pay makes them the only thieves and liars around). Thank you.

Absolutely beautiful shop! Karen’s Vintage Boutique has one of the best vintage curations of 1930s- 90s dresses and gowns, I’ve seen in the world! I’m always delighted by what I find when I visit her on Portobello Rd! Not your average vintage shop at all, it’s truly wearable art!

The shop was very inviting when the glamorous pieces in the window caught my eye whilst walking down portobello road. Karen and Chloe were super helpful with helping me look for the right thing for my wife as a birthday present. The shop always has a great vibe with good energy. no other place like it, best shop in portobello by far!

This is my favorite vintage store! Every time I visit London I have to stop here. Not only is Karen one of the nicest, most knowledgeable people she has the most unique pieces. I always leave with something cool and unexpected.

Money grabbing people. I came to the shop today by chance on my way to get a dress from Bazar shop on Golborn road. Before going there I stepped in to see the "Vintage" clothing at Karen's as I have never been to there before. I was very surprised seeing the white dress I actually intended to buy from Golborn road shop. Afterwards I went to the Bazar at Golborn road thinking that must be another one so I went to check and learned that the woman from the Karen Vintage bought it. I came back to Karen and well: the tag changed from £160 (Bazar Golborn price) to £2200 !!!!!!!!! I can understand the price hikes but £2040 more from initial price is steep, I wonder what else in her shop has also such a low value... I am really gutted and irritated by people who try to cheat that way ! Shame on You Karen - I am local and will make sure everybody knows your tricks.
