Robba da Matti (Westend)

We had such a great family dinner at Robba da Matti in the West End! Our group of 8 was warmly welcomed, and the service was amazing from start to finish. Everyone was so friendly and attentive, even with a big table like ours. The food was absolutely delicious—every dish we tried was fresh and full of flavor. The atmosphere is cozy and beautiful, which made the whole evening feel really special. This is actually one of our family’s favorite restaurants, and this was our 4th time coming here to celebrate a special occasion. Every visit has been consistently wonderful. We all left happy and full, and we’re already looking forward to our next visit. Highly recommend!

Went for our daughter’s birthday. We had a nice meal and refreshments. My daughter was given special attention and she felt like princess. We like to come here for occasions or just good food. It is five start place every time.

I booked a table at this restaurant over a month in advance for Valentine’s Day dinner. There was nothing noting a prefix menu at this time. The day after booking, I received a text telling me that not only would the menu would be limited for Valentine’s Day, but that it also wasn’t finalized yet. It was not available for another week and a half. This new menu left both myself and my date with exactly one option to pick from each and eliminated the options that I booked for in the first place. At this time, it was too late to try and book elsewhere for a nice dinner. Upon arrival, we were guided through a mostly empty restaurant and out the other side to a patio with tables less than 15cm apart. Despite empty rows and tables behind us, we were sat directly between two other couples, at a table that was touching the one of the couple beside us (clearly a table meant for four that was split to accommodate two parties). This table was directly under a heat lamp that was turned up so high that it left a burn on my neck. After we received our starters, we realized the table was too unstable to cut the food and we had to ask to move elsewhere. This was met with discomfort from the hostess. We were offered a table off in the corner, which we accepted, but this table was tucked against the legs of the canopy and we could not push our chairs in. To one side of us was another uncomfortable couple, and directly against our other shoulder was a row of bushes. This table was unstable as well. With an attempt to move past this, we tried to eat our starters - a bland carpaccio and ill-seasoned meatballs that were mushy. With this, we decided to cut our losses and leave for the night without our supposedly romantic dinner on a holiday evening.

Best food and best service ever. I’ve been a regular for years and I can tell you that Mike and Kelly are some of the best people in the restaurant business. They have served me for many years, and I love this restaurant so much I frequently come in alone to eat my favourite dish (Pesto with Burrata). They make me feel right at home, and the couches are so comfortable inside. Also, the outdoor patio is completely magical! Every dish is incredible and well priced - I’ll be back soon!

Absolutely loved Robba da Matti in the West End. Warm, cozy atmosphere (perfect on a cold day) and outstanding Italian food made with high-quality ingredients. What truly sets them apart is their vegan accommodation — with 2 days’ notice, they create a dedicated 3-course vegan menu, not just substitutions. It’s thoughtful, creative, and genuinely delicious. Huge shout-out to Mark, the manager, whose hospitality made the evening even better. If you’re vegan (or dining with one) and want a restaurant that actually gets it, this place is a must-visit. 🌱🍝

It's a cozy atmosphere it was January when I ate here so it was a bit chilly but the atmosphere on the outdoor patio with the heaters I didn't mind at all. The staff also will give you a blanket if you are still cold. The indoor atmosphere is cozy but if you prefer inside I would make a reservation or you may wait a bit. The food tasted just as good as I expected and this was my first time coming here. Will definitely come again

We came here for a goodbye dinner for my sister and a special night with my girlfriend, and decided to try the “Date Night Special” (I believe that’s what it’s called). Unfortunately, they didn’t have the first item my girlfriend ordered, so she had to change her choice. Then I ordered the spaghetti frutti di mare, but the server came back to let us know they were out of clams. Not a huge issue — we said to just make it work. When the food arrived, my girlfriend’s plate was missing altogether. They apologized, but it took another 15 minutes for it to reach the table. Later, we ordered dessert, and again, the item my girlfriend picked wasn’t available — at that point, it honestly felt like a running joke. My sister-in-law also asked about the ingredients due to a food allergy, and the server responded with something like, “That’s just how the plates are made,” which didn’t feel very accommodating. Then someone in our group mentioned crème brûlée, thinking it was on the menu, and the server replied, “That’s French, not Italian,” and added something like, “The dessert menu hasn’t changed in a while.” The tone came off more dismissive than helpful — and to be honest, it made the person feel a bit embarrassed in front of everyone. At that point, I honestly started taking everything as a joke. For the record, I can afford to dine at expensive places. I like to eat well, and I’m completely fine spending $200–$300 for a great dinner for two. But in this case, the experience just didn’t match the cost. The bill came to around $240, and a 20% gratuity was automatically added due to our party size (more than 5 people). The food was tasty, but the service and overall vibe were disappointing. I wouldn’t recommend this place

My daughter and I were bored at home, so we decided to treat ourselves to Italian food. We went to Robba da Matti, and it was such a good choice! We shared the Pasta Al Pesto and Pasta Con Funghi E Burrata Al Tartufo—both were so good and the portions were huge. We couldn’t even finish, and the leftovers tasted just as amazing the next day. Our server was super kind and knew exactly what to recommend based on our taste (we’re a bit picky). The place is elegant, clean, and most importantly, cozy, which is what makes me want to come back. And I definitely will!

I highly recommend the Pasta con Funghi e Burrata al Tartufo. The creamy truffle burrata with mushrooms and chili garlic is absolutely delicious. The tiramisu for dessert is always a great way to end the meal. They also have a "Date Night" combo available for $155, that includes starters, pastas, and desserts, and a bottle of wine to share. There is street parking along the outside. The entrance to the place is a bit tucked in so may be hard to find. There should be a sign outside though! They also do brunch specials so I am curious to try. The interior is very spacious but cozy at the same time. Service was amazing! They even offered to give tiny bowls of whipped cream for our toddlers.

The predecessor at the location deep in the heart of the West End was one of my favourite restaurants. I've been meaning to try Robba da Matti since I came back last year after an absence of 10 years. An old friend in town gave us an excuse to pay a visit 2 weeks ago. My friend's first words to me as soon as we sat down in the patio were, "this is a very nice place, Joe". There are many restaurants with patio to choose from in the city but this one on Haro and Guildford is my favourite. It's smacked right in the middle of an old residential neighbourhood. The restaurant itself in the half basement level of an apartment building the patio is right next to the building in a pedestrian courtyard. The string lights, pergolas and the bistro tables surrounded by planters closing off the patio from the courtyard all help make up the little enchanting al fresco dining room. Foods were great. I ordered the squid ink spaghetti with clams with an Aperol spritzer. The squid ink gave the pasta a slight ocean flavour and the clams are plentiful and juicy. The spritzer was the right touch to a summer dinner outside.

Bruschetta Luccese: absolutely delicious. Need to try making this at home. Big portion. Enough for 4 people or more. Spaghetti con Crema di Limone, the pasta with a creamy lemon sauce and capers was delicious. Served with 3 good size shrimp. The boss had Pappardelle Roche Rosche. Beef and sausage in a Ragu. Also pretty darn good. Quaint, good service.

Beautiful location, tucked in the west end. This place is unique and very cute! The ambiance is incredible and very beautiful. Great place for a date night! Service is perfect! there were 2 servers and both were top notch, allowing organic conversations and the utmost personable experience. We started with their arancini with truffle sauce (arborio risotto balls mixed with an assortment of cheeses. served with a truffle aioli sauce). these were exceptional! stuffed full of cheese and the right amount of truffle. an incredible way to start our meal. The rest of our dishes were unfortunately mid. it wasn't bad but it just fell short. We started with gnocchi pomodoro & basilico (home made gnocchi with a parmesan, fresh basil and tomato sauce. topped with our d.o.p. burrata cheese. 26). the gnocchi was perfectly cooked but was just ok. It lacked any identity of flavor. The cold burrata and the basic pomodoro did not add to this dish. Adding parm and pepper did not help and for me, this was basic. Next was the butternut squash ravioli (butternut squash & scamorza cheese ravioli with a butternut, sage & garlic sauce. topped with crushed walnuts. 30). i'm hard pressed to begin to understand this dish. 6 ravioli "stuffed" with cheese laid on a bed of butternut squash "soup". lots of walnuts and fried sage but no real flavour. This dish was a hard pass. Last was my friends lobster & crab ravioli (fresh stuffed lobster & crab ravioli, served with a fresh sauteed cherry tomato sauce, finished with tiger prawns and arugula salad. 33). she said there was no lobster flavor and the tomato ratio was too much. This was a miss for me unfortunately!

This is a beautiful restaurant. Have special dinner coming up? Anniversary? Birthday? 10/10 recommend Robba da Matti. I've been to this location and the one in Yaletown - I prefer this one. The outdoor patio is to die for, and the ambiance is just wonderful. Friendly staff who were more than accommodating with my nut allergies, and delicious food, drinks and desserts. My partner and I both got Gnocchi - incredible. This is a favourite restaurant of mine now!

We wanted a decent dinner within walking distance of the holiday lights at Stanley Park and just found this spot on Google Maps. It's in a very random spot, amidst blocks of just high rise apartments, nonchalantly in one of their basements. I was a little wary approaching it, but it was very lovely inside and we had a great meal. There is also a window where you can watch the chefs work their magic. THE WAIT None at 5:15pm on the Monday before Christmas. We were told in advance we only had our table until 6:30pm (we hurriedly left at 6:40pm, no issue). It was completely empty when we arrived but was becoming more and more lively by the time we left. THE SERVICE I have to give Alex my full props for dealing with my not-the-best-behaved 2 and 4 year-olds. We were a little out of our league coming here in full winter gear after walking through Stanley Park at night with two little toddlers. We didn't realize what a classy, nice restaurant this would be. But Alex had endless patience, we were never given more than a glance from neither staff nor fellow customers when our toddlers. At the outset this restaurant is not kid-friendly; there were no other children here, no high chairs, no room for our strollers (we were asked to leave them in the covered patio). However, in terms of our treatment, I would consider this a very kid-friendly place. I don't necessarily recommend bringing very young kids here, only because it's a nice spot and I personally felt a little guilty leaving a mess and causing extra noise from my moody hungry kids. THE COST $198 CAD before tips. Reasonable for a quality Italian dinner for 3 adults & 2 toddlers. THE FOOD * Sangria ($12.50) - 4 stars Light and sweet, I enjoyed this! * Prosciutto & burrata ($25) - 4 stars Thinly sliced meat, nice & fresh burrata. * Beef Carpaccio ($20) - 3.5 stars Fresh ingredients but could maybe use some more flavor/dressing on the greens. * Lobster & Crab Ravioli ($33) - 4.5 stars My partner really enjoyed this, perfectly al dente pasta, fresh seafood and sauce. * Pappardelle Rosche Rosche ($33) - 3.5 stars Thicker pappardelle than I'm used to but still very good. Didn't love that the meat came in large chunks, rather than more integrated in the sauce. * Kid's Pasta ($13.50) - 4 stars Quality stuff, and the entire serving was more than enough split between my 2 and 4 year olds.

*this is a review for the Kits location on West 1st* Me and my girl friend came in here to celebrate for her birthday. This was my first time trying robba da matti and I was interested in the date night menu. The price point is great, $140 for 2 appetizers, 2 pastas, 2 desserts and 1 bottle of wine. We got the Beef Tenderloin Carpaccio and Burrata Caprese to start. Both were great, they were very generous with the burrata. Then we moved on to the 2 pastas - Lobster & Crab Ravioli and Pappardelle Rosche Rosche. Both also tasted great, though the pappardelle could be a bit more flavourful. We finished with 2 desserts, panna cotta and crème brûlée. Nothing too exciting to note with the desserts, we thought both were a bit too sweet. Moving on to the service portion, that is the reason why I only gave 2 stars. When we first arrived at the restaurant, we got seated right away as we had a reservation. The host put down the water cups (with no water) and never came back to check in. About 20 minutes later, another table was seated right beside us, that also consist of 2 people. They were provided with water and a plate of olives as soon as they sat down. At this point we did not have both. If you have been to the kits location, you would know that the two tables outside by the entrance are practically side-by-side... it is hard to miss that we didn't have anything on our table. After another 5-10 minutes, we had to flag someone down in order to place an order. It was a long night of waiting around when we needed assistance when the other tables seem to be getting theirs fine. I should also note that there was a turnover with the table next to us, and the same thing happened to the new table where they were immediately served with water and olives when they sat down. Another small detail is that I indicated we were celebrating my friend's birthday in the reservation system, though it seems like nobody took notice of it to bother saying happy birthday to my friend. It wasn't a big deal but I guess it just added to the cold service we received the whole night. Overall, the food was great and the date night menu was definitely worth the price. But due to the service I've received at the kits location, it is very unlikely that I will visit again.

My favourite favourite pasta place, and this location is definitely the coziest one. The patio is beautiful and magical in the summer, but the interior is super cozy during the winter too. The proximity to the park adds to the charm of this beautiful little neighborhood spot as well. Everything feels super lush! They make all their pasta in house, and you can absolutely taste the difference. My personal favourite is always the pesto. The tiramisu and panacota are to die for as well. They have a great wine list and service is always warm and welcoming as well. It's the perfect spot for a date night or a birthday party! Parking in the area is not the best, so be prepared to walk a few blocks or just take a taxi/Uber to make your life easier. I definitely recommend this wonderful litttke West End gem to everyone.

Located in a residential neighborhood off the main drag, very quaint and inviting below grade entrance. Kelley our server was top notch friendly, social, attentive, and knowledgeable of the menu. He explained the history of the dishes and their origins from family recipes. Gnocchi pomodoro was delicate and zesty. Pappardelle was decadent and robust. Ambiance was very homie and personal. Service was attentive without being pushy or hurried. Just very fresh pasta in a relaxed and warm setting. This location would be a weekly visit if I lived in the neighborhood. Highly recommended.

Excellent fresh burrata from Italy and the pasta is made on site. I had the Spaghetti allo scoglio (seafood pasta) which was great. My guest ordered the crab stuffed ravioli which I wouldn't recommend, the filling was just too densely and dryly packed to enjoy it and the tomatoes really overpowered the flavour. However they have a full pasta menu which warrants a second visit. Good service at weekend lunch

What a quaint romantic cozy spot in the west end! I'm a fan of the Yaletown location and love the food. The ambience is fantastic, not too loud but comfortable. Decor is stunning. A great place for a date or a small gathering of friends. I had the spaghetti vongole- absolutely delicious. Ended with the panna cotta which also was a stunner. Service was great too- she came back enough times to check on you, but not to the point where you felt pestered.

This place is everything and so much more! Run, don't walk to try it. Ambiance: super cute, cozy, pretty, inviting. Patio was even cuter than inside if that's even possible. Service: great! The hostess was from Como/ Milan and I've got to talk to her in Italian. So cool when that happens. Food: pasta or pasta! They have a great variety on the menu but life can't be without pasta for me so I went with pasta, bruschetta and more pasta with champagne. The vongole, cozze! All delicious. Sadly, I couldn't stay long. But besides that, such a fun, cute, warm and cozy little Italian spot. With delicious food. I love it!

This location is my favourite as the garden patio is both covered and heated. The restaurant gives off a really quaint and countryside vibe, and the staff here are wonderful. Honestly speaking, the food was just above average but the ambiance and staff pushed the overall scoring up to 4 stars. Our waiter even provided a tiramisu free of charge because we were celebrating a birthday.

Can't express how lovely our dinner was here. We chose to go to their west end location specifically for the patio and it did not disappoint. This location was so stunning we sat outside in their covered patio and it was filled with lots of greenery and lights making it the perfect intimate spot for date night. What we ordered: Antipasta: Beef tenderloin carpaccio Bruschetta Leccese Pasta: Spaghetti Allo Scoglio Gnocchi Ai Quattro Formaggi We both thoroughly enjoyed each dish, but especially loved the bruschetta leccese (last slide). It was a savoury and sweet bite from the gorgonzola and fig marmalade with the prosciutto. Their pastas are lovely too and made in house! The texture was nice and perfectly al dente. The gnocchi was on the heavier saltier side, but the spaghetti allo scoglio is a must try if you're a seafood lover. It was loaded with mussels, clams, prawns, and calamari.

Quaint little space tucked away in the middle of a residential neighborhood. Service is always excellent and the food is consistently good. We've been there several times and tried different dishes based on the servers suggestions and they have always been great. The date night special is an extremely good value, must try.

I visited one lovely day for a brunch with a friend and was delighted to have the entire patio to ourselves! Service was as always, excellent, warm and friendly. The food was decent, and beautifully presented. I found my pesto with burrata a tad bland and the noodles a bit overcooked, but the carpaccio was still excellent, and my friend really enjoyed her frittata.

Four of us dined at Robba da Matti. The lamb was tough, and the pasta dishes were adequate, but portions were small. When the bill arrived, one guest tried to pay with a $100 bill. The restaurant had no change. What? The waitress said 'I don't have access to the till.' Eventually, the waitress fished around for 5 minutes and found $45 in change (restaurants in Kathmandu can break a $100 bill in less time). Apparently, the restaurant was better in the past. But the pandemic is over, so people can pay with cash, and service matters.

Absolutely gotta try the pesto pasta with pistachios! Amazing! I will try to mimic this when I get home. Also the bread and butter was good.

Gorgeous, airy and spacious patio ~ perfect spot to visit during Covid. Service here was attentive, prompt, and gave lovely recommendations. We started off with the prosciutto and burrata which was delicious! The portion was generous. The bread was really fresh and the accompanying olive oil/balsamic dip was surprisingly memorable here in comparison to other places I've been to. My friend ordered the pappardelle which was amazing, it was a perfect blend of flavours.. and the short rib was extremely tender! Definitely a hearty choice. I opted for the carbonara which was also delicious, although very rich! The pasta was cooked to perfection. We ended the dinner off with the panna cotta and did not regret it. Super creamy topped with the perfect blend of berries that paired perfectly. I've been to the Yaletown location, but this location's patio is super cute and is a less busy area which I like. Looking forward to returning!

Great location with a careful setup accommodating Covid safety. The food is tasty (I particularly enjoyed the gnocchi and carbonara) but most of all the service is outstanding. Big shout out to our server Mark and his team who despite the crazy hot temperatures and wearing masks for the duration, made sure our every need was met including making sure we had plenty of water. Thanks Mark. It was a fabulous evening.

Horrible service. The only thing this place has got going for it is that it's in the basement of a house. Essentially, this restaurant is trying to be like the hundreds of beautiful restaurants in New York, but it falls short on many of the checkpoints My partner and I went in looking to grab desert and some wine. We'd had a beautiful dinner at another establishment close by and were looking to have a few glasses and share something sweet to end the night. We got in and were greeted by a young gentleman who told us to wait for him while he "looked for seating". Mind you, this place wasn't packed at all. We waited for a good 15 minutes and he was nowhere to be found. That's when we started to feel something was off. A few more minutes passed and we saw him hanging around the kitchen and serving some other guests their orders. Definite red flags. Another few minutes passed and some additional servers finally approached us and asked if we had been helped. We mentioned we were currently waiting for the gentleman who was now bussing tables. They apologized profusely and then left without resolving anything. A few more minutes went by and we heard them gossiping about how we wanted to "just order desert and wine". Now, I don't if they were just incompetent or if they only wanted to prioritize tips, but we were blatantly being profiled and disrespected. The space isn't that big and it was clear we were actively being shunned. All in all, we ended up going to our favourite spot just down the street, the RED ACCORDION. We had a fair share of their amazing cocktails and their special dessert of the day. For those of you who haven't been to the Red Accordion, it's much cooler than this Robba da Matti, with an amazing aesthetic and impeccable service. They treat everyone like a human being with no shortage of conversation. But I digress. Stay away from Robba da Matti.

The food was amazing. I had the spaghetti Allo Scoglio. The seafood was fresh and the pasta had a different delicious texture since it's made in house. It's just perfection. The service was so great. We went on a Saturday lunch. We didn't have to wait long for our food or drinks. The ambiance of the restaurant is so cute. Their outdoor patio has privacy from people walking by. It's such a cute little place for a lovely lunch or a dinner date. We will definitely visit again.

Great date night spot ! They offer a menu for 2 that includes 2 antipastos, 2 pastas, 2 desserts and a bottle of wine! Quieter then the yaletown location and has a charming garden patio. Food was delicious, we had the caprese salad with decent sized burrata serving. Carpaccio is always a good choice. Carbonara was our favourite pasta dish while the ragu pappardelle was tad on the bland side but hearty serving.

This is my second time at this location. The service was terrible the first time I went with a friend, but the good food made me give it another try with my fiancé. We sat outside on the covered patio which is equipped with heat lamps, greenery and twinkle lights which creates a very romantic ambiance. My fiancé ordered from the Dine Out Vancouver menu from and we shared the appy and dessert. To start, we had the Bruschetta Leccese which was a very generous size for an appetizer- we got 4 pieces of bruschetta tops with Gorgonzola, prosciutto, pine nuts and a fig marmalade. It was almost perfect, except in my opinion, the fig marmalade is not necessary and is kind of weird since it makes it quite sweet. It would be better if the starter was kept entirely savoury. For our entrees, my fiancé had the Pappardelle Rosche. The short ribs were soooo tender and just melted in your mouth. I had the gnocchi al Quattro formaggi which although vegetarian was still quite filling. The gnocchi is a dream and the way it should always be! Each piece was like a fluffy cloud covered in cheese. we shared the tiramisu for dessert which was also very good. Service was overall pretty good- no major complaints there. I would definitely return for the delicious food!

Had a lovely dinner at Robba Da Matti West End. Ordered a number items for dinner. We liked the burrata caprese , beef tenderloin carpaccio, and pappardelle "Rosche Rosche" the most. Thanks Robba da Matti!

The worst uber eats and order experience ever. Just threw out almost $70 worth of a "quick dinner" consisting of 2 dishes and a dessert. Gross. I called the restaurant and was advised that I should "try and get my money back"... not my main concern. But thanks. Both dishes and dessert were lacking in size and quality to the point that I didn't let my kid eat them. I had to toss them almost upon delivery. To be clear, I dont make a habit of complaining or sending food back or "asking to speak to the manager". But this experience was pretty bad.

We came here on the first night back since COVID & despite being the only customers, the atmosphere & surrounding was wonderfully cozy, romantic & welcoming. Staff are authentic & attentive, dishes are well prepared, flavorful & simple yet robust classics. The carbonara was refreshingly light, the Rosche was hearty. Furthermore, hearing the staff never stopped working through Covid, instead cooking meals for homeless each day makes me like them even more. This is a cute find, off the beaten track, great for a date night or meal with friends. Try them out!

We called and ordered take out tonight in a city without many options. Every place we like is closed due to the virus, except for Robba Da Matti, hooray! If you are tired of cooking and want to taste delicious food then call them and they will put a smile on your face and tickle your taste buds.

We had such a wonderful experience at Robba da Matti at their West End location! The owner, Elsa was super accommodating and helpful during the dinner reservation and in helping me with some special requests. The food was super delicious and freshly prepared! They have excellent selections of wines and Prosecco. Special mention to Andre who was very kind and helpful. Thank you to the Manager Mark and his evening staff for delivering such a professional, efficient and amazing service. Overall, it's so impressive!

Was able to make a reservation for our large party of 12. We had a prefix 3 course meal. We also got a cauliflower soup so I guess it's 4. The ambiance was really cozy and welcoming. The drinks were stiff and the food was excellent. The lobster ravioli was best first course dish, the Ciopino was the best dish and the panna cotta was the best dessert. Also, their bread is warm and addicting. Have to mark one star off as it took far too long for us to actually get our food. But still, we would definitely go back.

On paper this was supposed to be a hit for my anniversary dinner. I had an 8PM reservation on a Monday night, but had to wait 15 minutes (as did everyone else with reservations). Not the end of the world. The patio looks gorgeous in pictures but the actual experience falls short. It's too brightly lit under the white tents to qualify as "romantic". I wish they'd just unscrew a few light bulbs - it would really help dim the place down. Food was disappointing. The bruschetta was embarrassing - just a pile of diced tomatoes with way too much salt and dried oregano heaped onto a chunk of baguette. It was also impossible to eat, since it was far too big eat by hand, and way too messy to eat with a knife and fork. The cold chunks of tomato just flew off the bread and rolled all over the plate. Or fell into your lap. Entrees: my wife was brought the wrong dish entirely and returned it. My pappardelle was OK but the noodles had stuck together, which shows the kitchen is either overworked or doesn't care. Server comped us the entrees, which was the right move, but we definitely won't be back.

I was truly ready to give robba a rave review, however I truly cannot. Robba is in the heart of the west end, attached to a hotel right in the middle of Haro street. It has the most amazing outside space surrounded by plants and flowers. The space is a dream, very put together nicely. Wonderful ambiance, with kind people. We started with the charcuterie board, which was one of our favourites at the Yaletown location. Sadly this locations was a bit different, disappointing. There wasn't as much cheese, no sauces, it just didn't feel worth the price. We had gnocchi, I loved it. The gnocchi is as fluffy as a pillow soaked in cheese sauce, wowZa It was good. I realize here in North America we often want our portions oversized, but the thing is, if I am going to pay these prices for pasta, yes I want a very decent portion. However it's very small, I was still a bit hungry. I also had the lavender creme brûlée, the cream wasn't dense enough or held enough flavour , and you couldn't taste enough lavender. The wine selection is lovely, I don't feel this will disappoint you at all. We had a very nice full bodied red. I was very disappointed with the service, the people working are lovely. Very kind and helpful, however they are very very slow. I felt they were understaffed. We waited for our bill for much too long. We were totally nice about it and patient, but it's worth mentioning because I could see it really upsetting someone who wants to get out of there. The food is cooked fresh, so it does take a bit longer, but for us it was expected. Overall this place is missing nonna. That nice family feel the yaletown location has. Robba I am sorry I couldn't give a better rating, I really wanted to love this place. I will hopefully be back soon so I can leave a better review.

This has to be one of the most romantic and unique patios in Vancouver. Tucked away in a surprising nook in the West End, there is zero traffic noise on this patio, which is rare for Vancouver. The menu offerings include pasta and mains. We shared two pastas: the Pesto and Burrata, and the Roche Roche (a ragu rich with short rib and sausage). Both dishes were tasty, well-seasoned, with al dente pasta. I very much enjoyed my meal here and would return for a special-day meal or for happy hour on a mild afternoon.

I had dinner at this location a few nights ago. The greeting by the staff was friendly and welcoming. Our wait person was also friendly and helpful in answering any questions we had about the menu. A small plate of olives was placed on the table. They were tasty as a small complimentary appetizer. I ordered the Osso Buco. price $26.00. The slice of veal came on top of a bed of risotto which was very nice. There were a few vegetables place on top of the veal, they also were good and a nice touch. Delicious looking French bread or Baguette was to accompany the meal but it was never delivered to our table. Even though all other tables did have the bread. My friends also ordered an appetizer and dessert. I did not as I thought the prices were to expensive. All in all it was an enjoyable evening, would I go back for the food and the cost? only if someone else was paying

My hubby took me here for my birthday since he knows I love Italian food. It did not disappoint ! All the food was amazing and I love how they bring complimentary olives before you order. We started with the beef tenderloin carpaccio the flavour was to die for. The meat was so soft it was a good size and not too heavy of a starter. We were left craving more because it was so delicious. For our mains I ordered the GNOCCHI ALLA PORTOFINO and my husband ordered the PAPPARDELLE 'ROSCHE. The gnocchi just melts in your mouth and is the perfect texture. The sauce was very flavourful and not too spicy and the burrata on top with arugula added freshness to the dish. My husband was also very satisfied with his choice he loved the combination of meats with the sauce and said everything tasted fresh and very flavourful. We didn't have room for dessert but every thing we tasted was delicious and the ambiance is very nice. It's has the perfect date night atmosphere. You can take a stroll by the beach after. The service was amazing as well the servers are all friendly and attentive and make sure to fill up your water as soon as it's empty. I would definitely recommend this place if you want good quality flavourful Italian food.

Had my birthday dinner here for a large party and it was one of the best dinners i've ever experienced; the servers were amazing, super caring, thoughtful and quick with our many requests; the food was excellent-- i ordered the osso buco and tasted four of the pastas and honestly it was all to die for; the cherry on top is the ambience and great vibe. 10/10 would recommend

Ahhhhh I just hate when you really want to love a place and it's disappointment after disappointment: Having recently moved to the area, I was excited to find out there was a second location for this popular Italian restaurant so close to my place. When I arrived, our reservation was prompt and we were created kindly, but the overall experience was quite a let down. The atmosphere is lovely, what a great place for a date! Lots of candle light and cozy bench/couch style seating. The tables are a little too close together though. I was quite hungry and excited to fill my belly with tasty pasta, but unfortunately I had to eat the entire mini bowl of complimentary olives while we waited 45mins for our pasta and no it didn't really help. I actually thought the server forgot to order our food, so I double check with him that the order went through. He said they were just a little behind. What made it even more painful was that the server knew I was really hungry! I asked his opinion on which dishes were most filling and even went with his suggestion on what to order. Anyhow, when the manager was informed that our dishes had taken 45mins, he came by to apologize, saying that there was a little rush and things fell behind, but he food was coming. He was very awkward with his apology and did not even offer to discount or remove one or both pastas, or even offer a round in the house. Making things worse, my $25 pasta that I waited for what felt like an eternity was small and boring. I was worried I would be disappointed because I knew it had no meat... but it honestly was just spaghetti in pesto sauce with Burrata cheese on the side. That pasta was just begging for some sun dried tomatoes, artichokes, or even just some chicken or prosciutto. It was so plain.... the cheese was lovely.... I will give you that. I can't say I would order it again for that price. I was still hungry after. We were given a free dessert, Tiramisu, which I actual don't like at all. :(

Had a great experience here at Robba da Matti. Food is great and service is great too. The dessert was amazing too. Highly recommend checking out this cozy little spot.

A romantic little spot on the West End (Haro). A quaint little patio setting in the middle of a residential area - its simply romantic. It feels like you are eating in a garden patio. We went out to try the date night meal which was so reasonably priced. It was a 3 course meal of any selection on the menu + you get a choice of one of two Italian bottles of wine. Many ingredients were imported from Italy to give the dishes some authenticity. If you do the date night option (great idea), choose two different antipasti, entrees and desserts and you will feel like you had 2 meals in one sitting. Sharing the meal will allow you to make the most of your experience. I was impressed with the dishes, the plating, the flavours and the whole value of the experience. The only thing that surprised me was the cheese in the burrata had a mushy texture but that's the way it is served. Fantastic experience. I went back a second time - this time I was seated inside. The vintage style ambiance with the 1930s jazz music was awesome. The insalata celeste was great.

Robba di matti was wonderful. the food was delicious! The server was very attentive and handled our large and indecisive group very well. Thank you for a lovely evening.

We have walked by this restaurant many times, and finally stopped in to celebrate my wife's Birthday. And we are so glad we did. Great food. Great service. Great atmosphere. Only thing I did not like was the paper napkins but other than that, 10 stars. We will be back...

Lovely experience. I recommend it. Robba da Matti was my first experience in Vancouver, BC. The food was very tasty, and the service was great. I ordered gnocchi with cheese, Pinot noir (good despite my combination), and chocolate mousse, all good choices. I will definitely go back.

Enjoyed a lovely dinner with our friends until we were unceremoniously told to get out. We had just finished paying our $400+ tab when the host ran up panicked that another party had arrived and they needed the table. At 85, our one friend needs a bit of time. We had no intention of overstaying. We weren't the only ones taken aback by this treatment. Other diners sympathized as we walked out. As a neighbourhood restaurant that we supported during COVID, we were especially hurt to have received this treatment.
