Came here with friends. We were all a little confused about which part of the tea bar/sit down area we should be in, but our server was so very patient and helpful, we felt at ease right away. We three ladies had the Sesame tofu cheesecake and it was amazing! I also enjoyed my tea bar of Crimson Glory Rose - so delicious (and I'm not a real tea drinker). That was on the Traditional menu, which is what the seating area in the back of the place is for. If you're getting something to go, you order and pay for it in the front part of the place. Overall, loved the place. Only quibble would be that one of the two washrooms was out of order, so everyone had to use only other one that was available.

If you’re in the Spadina/Chinatown area and looking for more than just a quick tea time and chill — ICHA TEA is a solid choice. I’ll definitely go back. Super love their strawberry matcha. 🍵🍓

We had the hot brown sugar ginger milk tea w/ oat milk and pearls (25% sugar). It was good, but very ginger heavy. It's good that they offer other things, like cake and treats. I'll have to come back and try it again. 😏😋

I have been meaning to check this place out for a while now because so many have been raving about it, and it did not disappoint. It looks quite small from the street but there’s a large tea room in the back where you can sit and enjoy your drink. Since it was so hot when I went I got the iced strawberry matcha, which definitely is a fan favourite! It was what almost everyone was ordering. I added cheese foam on top and it is making my mouth water just thinking about it writing this. The teas came out quickly, but it also helped I was ordering a popular drink that was getting made in batches. Drinks on the menu are labelled by caffeine level and you can adjust the sweetness too 😋

I’ve been getting my tea from here since they used canisters/tins for all their loose leaf tea products. Unfortunately they seem to have discontinued selling the snowy rose jasmine loose leaf tea for a long while now. Thankfully it is not discontinued on their menu though. This location is small and can get crowded on weekends but depending on the order they can be pretty quick with their service. If you want to dine in I suggest going early, going on a weekday, or visiting the other location on queen and ossington as it has a bigger seating capacity compared to this one. Otherwise a 5-15min wait depending on order and queue. My favourite things about Icha Tea so far have to be their seasonal drink rotations, tea tasting events, and loose leaf. I highly recommend trying various types of teas. Not just the matcha (the tearista’s poor wrists!!). I’m loving their seasonal rotation as I get to try different teas, not just as traditionally, but paired with other flavours like coffee, juice, and soda. They also offer 5gram options for most of their loose leaf if you want to try in the comfort of your own home. Their desserts are quite nice paired with tea bar options. My fav are the rose jasmine pudding and osmanthus rice wine cheesecake. Apart from tea and tea snacks they also carry items (in store) made by local creators such as candles, jewellery, plants, pottery, art and more. Side note: I’ve noticed they have ice level options now! Since when did that happen? I’m guessing the matcha craze, increase of customers, and demands had a play in that? Not complaining, I prefer less ice and not watered down tea… Overall a great place to introduce yourself to traditional Chinese teas or hang out with friends.

I heard many great things about their matcha so I had to try it for myself, I got the ICHA Matcha and it was sooooo good, a little sweet in my opinion but my friend got the same thing and it was perfect for her, I guess it just depends on your preference, we got regular sugar just to try as a first but I would probably reduce it 50% the next time I get it Other than that the matcha is very creamy , smooth and the quality is definitely there

The tea is great and love the fragrances of tea leaves in small jars! I accidentally drop the whole cup but the staff offered free replacement of my order, that’s so heart warming! Would definitely go there again to taste more.

One of my favourite matcha spots in the city! I usually get the strawberry matcha latte but this time I decided to try out one of their summer drinks menu. I ended up going for the sunny coconut matcha drink they had. Sunny coconut matcha: Coconut jasmine tea with matcha cheese foam on top. It was a refreshing blend for the hot summer heat. If you're a coconut fan this is a great drink to have. Despite how busy the shop is, the service is quite fast and efficient. There's seating at the back but it tends to be full most of the time. Glad the quality remains consistent as always!

My favourite strawberry matcha is from Icha Tea! First time at this location and and it was packed! There was a long line to even order but the drink came out pretty quickly after ordering. There's a narrow hallway area in the store that leads to a larger back seating area which is nice. I like their other location on the west end more and for some reason it tasted better there than when I got it at this Chinatown location. They have adorable merch around the store that you can purchase, with some being from local businesses like candles.

Came here with my husband because he wanted to buy some authentic matcha powder. I got the Jade Breeze drink which was yuzu matcha and iced.. perfect for the summer heat! I added tapioca to it and did not regret that choice! There was a big line at the door but it went by fairly quickly.. lots of people ordered the strawberry matcha latte, but not for me. They also have a back side that is like a tea bar, seemed like a cozy place to hang out but also was full

Had to stop by for boba while in Chinatown. I was very intrigued by how they brew their tea for drinks. I ordered the snowy rose jasmine milk tea with less ice, 50% sugar, and grass jelly. Drink didn't take long to make. My milk tea was delicious and you can really taste the tea flavor in every sip. However, it wasn't sweet at all even though I asked for 50% sugar. It honestly tasted more like 25% or less. My husband who hates drinking sugary drinks took a sip of my drink and really liked it which shows how little sugar was in there.

The service was a 10 out of 10 they answered all the questions that I had and they made my drink rather quickly I got the iced strawberry matcha 25% sugar, given that I got 25% sugar I thought that I would be able to taste the matcha more, matcha naturally has an intense flavor hence why people like to put a lot of sugar in it but I didn't taste much matcha...I barely taste it to be honest which is why I have to put this out of 3/5 based on this drink alone I would not go back I didn't enjoy it. It wasn't horrible the strawberry flavor was delicious but I wouldn't order it again. The place was busy the seating area inside was full I visited around 4:00 on a Tuesday it's clear other people do enjoy the drinks if you prefer more sweetness than actual matcha flavor then this might be good for you at a 50 or higher percent sugar level I personally like to taste matcha in my matcha so it wasn't for me Also note that they do have other milk teas and toppings not just matcha

I got an iced matcha dirty cafe latte and my friend got a phoenix oolong milk tea~ I wish they served my drink in a clear cup too but regardless, it was really good! at first, i got a huge hit of the matcha which came off as too bitter. but after mixing it with the sweet coffee, it became a perfect blend of the two flavors. it gave me so much energy to last the day! we came back again a few days later and I got a chrysanthemum pu er tea! it was light and refreshing~ got it 25% sweet and it was perfect for me! the inside is super big and spacious. it's a nice place to unwind and relax while sipping on our drinks (though I chugged mine in a few seconds)

I come to this cafe just for their iced strawberry matcha latte--it's that good. Probably the best I've had in Toronto so far. I always ask for it half sweet since I prefer drinks that aren't too sugary, and it's perfect that way. The flavours are well-balanced, and the matcha tastes fresh and smooth. I've tried a hot drink here before (a regular matcha latte, I think) and didn't enjoy it, but the iced strawberry version is a standout. It's not cheap, but the cup is large and the price is typical for Toronto. If you're into matcha and like a fruity twist, this is a must-try.

Their strawberry matcha latte is really popular so I had to try it to be sure - and it did not disappoint. Although I did feel the strawberry was slightly overpowering the matcha but it wasn't so in a bad way. The matcha quality is really good though and had a very strong flavour which I loved! I also love their cute Japanese decor although I didn't get a seat in their cafe area coz it was crazy busy! The service is also very friendly and efficient, just how it should be.

Apparently the best spot to get Strawberry Matcha Latte so I was super hype to try it! Thankfully a short line when I went. They use a very popular ceremonial grade matcha from Japan so this is legit Service was fast and got drunk within 5 minutes I got mine with oat milk and my friend got hers with soy milk. I wouldn't recommend the latte with oak milk because it did make it sour. It tasted better with soy milk. I wouldn't travel all the way to downtown just for this tho, if i was in the area sure. 7/10 Ambiance was cute cafe vibes and they had a huge back room with tables! didn't get to check it out though.

I love how fresh the fruit teas taste here . I ordered peach passion fruit tea and it was bright, tangy, and perfectly sweet. The staff were cheerful and helped me customize the ice level. The shop decor is cute, great for taking photos . The music was chill and not too loud. A perfect spot to recharge in the afternoon!

Located in Chinatown of Toronto with many nearby eateries! I went to Juicy Dumplings and this place was close by and so me and my sister decided to go here and we tried their strawberry matcha latte and it was so good! Definitely high quality. This place was really busy and it makes a lot of sense why. They have a tea bar at the back which is cool. They also have little trinkets to purchase such as rings or earrings by the counter. I definitely recommend their matcha latte! It's definitely what they're most known for.

Hojicha Latte (9/10): Amazing taste. Texture is very smooth. Boba perfect level of chew (except for a single hard one we found) Phoenix Oolong Milk Tea (6/10): pretty average taste. I think the tea flavor could have been a bit stronger. Amazing ambiance. They have a really nice tea lounge in the back. I feel like they have space to add more outdoor seating in the front.

Best strawberry matcha I've ever tried!! This place serves high quality drinks and you can tell it's something they care about by their traditional processes and types of products they use. I looove coming here on a hot day and getting an iced strawberry matcha. Their matcha is high quality and the colour of it is amazing. They also sell some tea in store that customers can go and purchase to make at home. The workers are all really kind and helpful even though it can get quite busy during the day. They're super attentive to what I want and quick with their service! There's minimal seating in this location but I treat it more like a to go place anyway. The prices can range from $5-$8 a drink. Pricey, but a really unique menu and lots to choose from.

Decent boba spot but there are quite a few nearby, so not necessarily the top. Tea is strong and genuine, but for the specialty drinks, it was overpowered by milk or other liquids (ratio felt off). They do tea tasting which shows how proud they are of the tea, which I can get behind. I support the tea here. Overall, I think this is a splendid spot for authentic tea but just acceptable for boba and milk tea. Interior is nice, there's a larger seating area beyond the checkout area. Restrooms available. Rose Jasmine Tea w/ Boba - an okay green tea, there was an after taste present but very light. Rose wasn't as obvious as green tea is already a bit floral in flavor. Boba was chewy but not too flavorful, not a lot of sweetness if at all. Could be improved, but it does the job of a decent boba.

The matcha latte was pretty well balanced between the matcha and milk flavour. At first glanced it seems like that matcha looks grainy but after a good mix it kinda disappear. Although I do wished the matcha could be on the stronger side. I would recommend this to those who would prefer more of balanced side of matcha. I would recommend the matcha tea if you would prefer a stronger matcha flavour, which I did enjoy more of.

Big fan of their matcha - they use Marukyu Koyamaen's matcha so you know it's solid. I asked for 50% but I think 75% would be better. I would skip the earl grey cake. Get spot to get a cute bite or study in the back. There's a good amount of seating tucked in the back.

One of my favourite cafes DT. I love their matcha. I personally prefer their matcha latte over the strawberry matcha since the strawberry overpowers the matcha taste. I haven't tried any of their other drinks though. Same for desserts and hot tea sets. But, would like to try them in the future. Their zen Japanese vibe/interior is very nice.

One of my favourite cafes to visit. Reasons: 1. Clean washroom: the washroom may be a mess sometimes but it's clean and smells clean! Whenever I need a washroom I can trust, this is my go-to spot in the area. 2. Plenty of seating space: at the back of the cafe, they have bar-style seating for their tea experiences, as well as a variety of 2-8 person wooden tables. At the front of the cafe there's more high seating near the order counter. 3. Great ambient space: you can get a lot of work or studying done thanks to their free wifi. 4. Drink Variety: you can order both bubble tea and pots of traditional tea. For the bubble tea/hand crafted drinks, a top favourite - and for good reason - is the matcha strawberry latte. I usually order this with oat milk, 50-75% sugar, and tapioca pearls. Ice is fixed. They use Marukyumen Matcha which is currently very popular because of its light, grassy flavour. The strawberry seems to be mashed or blended strawberry syrup and offers a wonderful sweetness. For the traditional tea experience, you have an option for a single cup, tea bar, and tea set with a selection of different types of tea (oolong, black, white, green, pu erh). The tea bar is a beautiful pot of brewed tea served with one tea cup. My favourite is the tea set which offers the greatest value. It's probably meant to be shared, but it comes in handy when you intend to stay for hours! You get a large pitcher jug of hot water, 2 tea cups, and a matching tea pot for you to steep your tea. They always serve it in beautiful unique pots. My last visit had a pumpkin themed pot and cups! The hot water has unlimited refills; I've been able to successfully complete a whole pitcher but I ended up feeling pretty full and buzzed by that time, so the refills are realistic with multiple people. You could also get additional tea cups at an extra charge. 5. Tea flavour: they put extra care when it comes to brewing and quality and you can taste it in the tea because it's always just right. Never burnt and bitter. They sell tins of tea and individual samplers. I've tried their tangerine Pu erh; it was my first time trying any pu erh. It was earthy and I wasn't sure how to brew it at all LOL but it was good! I also bought the citron white tea a while ago, but haven't had a chance to try it yet. Highly recommend others visit!!! But please leave a spot for me. Thank you!!

From open to close, jam packed with people. This place is always busy. I think because it's near the heart of Chinatown and close to a lot of shopping spots of queen st. Anyways, expect to wait. If you don't have the patience, then this isn't the place. I waited 15 minutes for my drink but I knew I. Was going to get quality so I couldn't complain. The drinks range from sweet fruity stuff, to soft teas and hard coffees. Whatever your preference, they have a drink for you. The place is sorta big if you keep walking down the narrow hallway. It leads to sitting spaces where all the hipsters come to do 'work' on the computers.

Wonderful and friendly customer service! Strawberry Hojicha Latte was amazing! Hojicha was high quality! This experience brought me back to my fond memories of Tokyo.

Saved this spot to come to one day because of the great reviews they had.... I was able to stop in yesterday and get myself a drink. Store front is very easy to see and find, inside is quite small. Ordering station is right up at the front of entry. Service was insanely fast, I think I waited 2 minutes for my drink. The place was packed inside. I ordered the strawberry matcha latte. And let me tell you... this is THE BEST matcha latte I've ever tasted. I got half sweet and it was perfection. The strawberry goes so nicely with the matcha!! Excited to come back & try more drinks! Definitely put this on you Toronto must try's!

I always heard about Icha Tea but never got a chance to visit until recently. I went and ordered the Strawberry Matcha Latte that everyone always talks about. It was really good, the balance of matcha and strawberry puree was a good ratio. If you have a sweet tooth, this drink is for you! The staff were friendly and liked the ambiance of the place.

This matcha is UNMATCHED. Typically, matcha (especially iced) drinks are powdery or grainy. Delightfully, the matcha strawberry drink was not only smooth and creamy, the strawberry flavour was also not overpowering. I forget what kind of milk tea we got, but I can say with full confidence that their milk tea flavour was perfect. All the tea notes were brought out wonderfully with no bitterness. There is a very quiet room in the back, dim lighting, and instrumental music. There were lots of people there doing work on their laptops or just catching up. And wonderful atmosphere!

After hearing from a friend about how great this place was for matcha, I had to give a try when I was in Toronto! It was definitely on the pricier side (around $8) so I wouldn't get this often but man! It was probably the best strawberry matcha I've had The matcha was very high quality and the 50% sugar level was just the right amount for me, super smooth and rich with the milk and strawberry. I couldn't fault this strawberry matcha for anything really. I appreciated the option to customize the sugar level and also add toppings if desired - it's in a pretty convenient location alongside many other eateries in Chinatown.

A place I would come back to!! I just love the ambiance, they have a lot of seating but it's usually overtaken by students studying. The aesthetic of this place is so nice with the ability to buy grams of tea and lots of fresh tea. I got a peach tea and it was nicely brewed, refreshing and not astringent at all. Good place to chill and take a break.

So far, this is my favourite matcha spot in downtown. The strawberry matcha is incredibly fresh, and I love that they use real strawberries instead of an overly sweet puree. I can't wait for the mango matcha to come back in season as I've been dying to try it!

Take my review with a grain of salt, but I don't think I ordered the right drink on the menu. I got the Chrysanthemum Milk Tea with Pearls and I found it to be quite bland and lacklustre - a watered down, slightly bitter Hong Kong milk tea. The pearls were chewy though. Would recommend trying a different drink.

Local to Toronto, this bubble tea place steeps each drink fresh from loose tea leaves which is what gives it its strong tea taste. I love a good milk tea where you can actually taste the tea flavour. I got one of their oolong teas which is a bit lighter but they do have your classic black teas too. The staff was super helpful in explaining the different flavours. It's pretty small inside but they also have a tea bar in the back for those who want to sit down and stay longer. Definitely will come back and check that part out next time.

I was originally worried that it might be too strong, but it had a nice roasted flavor that the sweet strawberry puree complemented well. The mixed drink wasn't too bitter or sweet. The hojicha and strawberry was a perfect combination at a 75% sugar level for someone who loves sweet drinks. During my visit to Toronto, I came back here multiple times because I loved this drink so much. While the line was out the door each time, customer service was great and quick! I was able to get my drink after a reasonable wait time. Icha also has many cute teapots and jewelry to browse at while waiting for your order. I also tried the strawberry matcha since it was raved about in reviews. I personally thought it was average and comparable to NYC spots. The matcha was overpowered by the strawberry and could've had a better proportion, but the matcha tasted very high quality and you can tell that the staff cares about using the proper technique when making the tea :)

They mastered the strawberry matcha latte. I was in Toronto for a weekend and visited this place 3 times. The strawberry matcha latte and strawberry hojicha latte were both great at 25%. The ratios for everything were great. (I also got the regular matcha latte, but they add milk instead of strawberry puree so it is not v good). There's always a line but it moves quick. There is also plenty of seating in the back. Definitely check it out if you want matcha in Toronto.

A fabulous place to have Chinese tea. You can just buy tea like being in any bubble tea shops. Or like us had the KungFu tea experience by brewing the tea by ourselves. Performing KungFu tea style brewing has 2 advantages. The first one is to feel the true flavour of the tea because the fresh leaves (well... fresh dried leaves) can release its flavour fully. The second, the whole process is very slow. It slowers your fast-pace, anxious modern life style and make you peace in mind. You can have chat with your friends or family. I can't think of any other store provides you the same experience so i definitely recommend Icha Tea

The boba and tea here was very good. The tea was especially refreshing. Service was speedy and didn't take long for us to get our drinks.

I came here a couple years ago and remember it was an aesthetic spot to study while drinking tea. I think the customer service was just okay from what I remembered, nothing outstanding but nothing bad. I think they renovated so the seating does look a bit different. It's still just as aesthetic though. There's wifi if you ask the staff at the counter. I think it was ilovetea. But when I tried connecting to it, the service was horrid. I wasn't able to use it. So I would just recommend coming here not for the wifi but for just studying or reading. This time around I got the ice strawberry matcha latte. This drink was highly raved all over TikTok. I've tried good quality matcha from Japan and the matcha here is decent. The matcha was better than the bubble tea spots but it's not as good as the ones I had in Japan. The strawberry flavour was also kind of mild? On TikTok other people has more strawberry than me. I think the drink overall is just okay, I was overhyped by how great it would've been that I'm a bit disappointed.

one of my favourite cafes dt!!! their teas are great! i love how strong they are. they brew it right in front of you too. so if it ever gets busy, you might have to wait a bit for your drink, but i'd say it's worth it. they have a cute spot tucked at the back. I haven't personally spent time back there, but I definitely would. Didn't take a photo of their matcha drinks, but that's my go to here.

Great tea shop that serves artisanal teas, both hot and cold. The interior has seating in the back for around 20 to 30 people, and there is a bathroom. I've tried a variety of their drinks and quite enjoy their matcha teas. I would recommend this place. However, service can be a bit slow as it does tend to get busy.

Visited Toronto for a few days and was on a hunt for good matcha. Icha was the best one I've tried. I got a Matcha Latte 75% sweet with oatmilk. They use marukyu koyaemen. I loved the interior. They had a separate room for seating and a tea bar. Service was quick and they were also very friendly.

Of all the tea places I visited in Toronto, I definitely enjoyed coming here the most during my short visit to the city. Variety: Overall, this place has quite a bit of variety to it. Not only does Icha Tea serves drinks, you can also buy tea and merchandise here. In addition, there is a Tea Bar and Tea Set experience you can do if you're more into sampling the different teas or just want to spend more time savoring your tea. Crafted Tea Drinks: During my few visits here, drinks have consistently been tasty and delicious. Even at the regular sugar level, I found my drinks to be not too sweet and you can really taste the flavor of the tea. Flavors I tried so far are: Osmanthus Oolong Tea, Rose Jasmine Tea, and Chrysanthemum Pu Er Tea. Of the 3, I enjoyed the Rose Jasmine Tea the most for its unique flavor. Interior: Quite spacious! This would be a pretty nice study spot / resting area since I found the place to not be too loud. In the back of Icha Tea is where you will find the Tea Bar/Tea Set experience. Service: Staff was friendly and if you have questions or need suggestions, just ask and you should get some nice advice on what drinks to get. Wait time for the drinks wasn't too bad and if you're bored, just stand near the counter and watch how your freshly brewed tea is made (especially if you're getting the crafted tea drinks). Can't wait to stop by here again if I'm ever in the area! :)

I'm a huge matcha and boba fan so we decided to come to ICHA for their drinks. They sell a variety of traditional and nontraditional teas. I ordered the matcha latte at 75% sweetness. This was a good level as the mango puree itself added some natural sweetness. There's a decent amount of seating inside, but it was quite packed when we went around 4/5PM. Fortunately, there's also have two tables outside so we sat there. ICHA is worth a try.

Very cute tea shop tucked in away on spadina. I really enjoyed the roselle rose tea with pearl. I love how the "bar" is right up in the front where you can see the drinks being made. It's like a bar but for teas and boba drinks lol!! It's cute! The service was good, the barista was helpful and explained the drinks to us. I like the "soft" note to the roselle rose tea. And the pearls were very chewy. Over all I enjoyed the product and service. Will return again.

Ordered the strawberry matcha latte and at first it tasted pretty ordinairy, but the more I drank it, the more I really enjoyed it. I'm from California and this is probably one of the best strawberry matchas I've ever had, coming from someone who doesn't enjoy matchas on their own. The ambience inside is also perfect for studying. It's not too loud, clean, but looks like it gets pretty packed quickly. It feels really homey on the inside too, perfect for a nice break.

If you love tea, you need to check this spot out! My friend brought me here as she said the tea was good and I love tea. I tried their matcha strawberry latte as I saw it was only here for a limited time & I love anything matcha-strawberry. My sister got their matcha latte and my friend got their mango green tea. You can definitely taste that the drinks are made with fresh & quality ingredients. My personal preference is the matcha strawberry latte to be more fruity and the one here is more creamy due to the milk - I loved that the matcha taste was still very prominent though. I added lychee jelly to this drink and it was the perfect topping. The seating area is in the back and there is also a tea bar and menu which looks so aesthetic. It's a nice spot to chill & spill tea with friends.

We stopped by this tea spot while we were in Toronto and had high hopes from all the reviews. We ordered the rose jasmine milk tea, which was recommended by the cashier/barista. I'm not a big fan of rose at all as I usually find it super overwhelming, but this milk tea had almost no flavor at all. Honestly tasted like lightly flavored milk. The shop itself was well decorated and seemed like people frequently come by to have some tea and study in the back area.

I followed Yelp reviews to Icha Tea and, once again, Yelp lead me to the right place! This place seems to be half counter service and half tea house. The front is where you can order your typical milk teas and lattes to-go. The back has tea tastings and a tea bar. I ordered a hot matcha latte and it was sooooo good. Perfect for a cold day. It was probably one of the best matcha lattes I've ever had. I personally do not like matcha when it is overly bitter and this wasn't bitter at all, just sweet/creamy. I asked for 75% sugar and it was still a bit sweet for me. I can't imagine what 100% is like! Indoor seating is currently available with proof of vaccination. The seating area is basically the back which also has tea menus for tasting. I love the aesthetic of the back seating area. It feels like a tranquil place to sip tea. I did see some people study back there, but I personally couldn't do work here because the mood lighting is pretty dark.
