Bar Bellamy in Carlton delivers an electric atmosphere that captivates diners from the moment they step inside. The chic, cozy setting is enhanced by mood lighting, creating an inviting ambiance perfect for a night out. The attentive staff adds to the experience, offering exemplary service throughout the evening, ensuring that every need is met.
Our dining adventure at Bar Bellamy was a symphony of culinary delights. We began with the devilled eggs with anchovy, a true flavor explosion that was tremendously enjoyable. The chicken liver parfait cannoli with pistachio was freshly piped and so perfectly balanced that it left us reluctant to ever return to conventional cannolis again.
The French onion soup croquettes were another highlight, featuring a crunchy exterior with a soft center, beautifully balanced and seasoned. The Parisian gnocchi with peas, beurre noisette, and comté was outstanding, soft, fluffy gnocchi that melted in our mouths, perfectly complemented by the buttery nuttiness of the dish.
The 250g MS 6+ Wagyu scotch fillet with café de Paris butter, fries, and jus was cooked medium rare to perfection. Seasoned to enhance its natural flavors, this steak emanated culinary excellence, so much so that the jus and butter accompaniment were rendered superfluous.
For dessert, the fromage selection provided a pleasant conclusion, alongside the dark chocolate pudding with hazelnuts and crème fraîche, wrapping up our meal on a sweet note.
Though the atmosphere was bursting with life, the shared table arrangement wasn’t quite to our liking. Furthermore, the table behind us was excessively loud, momentarily hindering our conversation, perhaps a sign of us getting older! Nonetheless, Bar Bellamy’s vibrant environment, exceptional food, and great selection of wines more than compensated for these minor annoyances, establishing the restaurant as a genuine standout in Carlton.
Overall, Bar Bellamy delivers a great dining experience that seamlessly pairs excellent food with outstanding wines. A recommended visit for those seeking a memorable culinary journey in a lively setting.
