"Skiers and visitors who think fondue and raclette are the best expressions of Switzerland’s melted-cheese cuisine will be surprised when they taste their first Käseschnitte (called croûte au fromage in French-speaking Switzerland ). This soul-satisfying, open-faced, broiled-cheese sandwich is usually laden with bacon or ham and topped with perfectly bronzed cheese or a cheesy cream sauce before being garnished with cool pickled cukes and cocktail onions. Cabane du Mont-Fort, a self-serve kiosk located in a 1920s stone Alpine hut on the slopes of Verbier at Les 4 Vallées (Switzerland’s largest ski resort), has the best in the country, not to mention stunning views of Mont Blanc from its outdoor picnic tables. Don’t expect fawning or fast service, but you can count on a thick slice of bread anchored by a slab of melted cheese, marbled sweet and smoky bacon, and a few tomato wedges to offset the fatty richness."

Very clean rooms. Shower phenomenal with plenty of hot water and high pressure for a 2 minutes. Dinner delicious and wonderful bake goods , especially chocolate chip pecan cookies

An amazing place to spend the night! We had so much fun the night we were here, met wonderful people, ate amazing food, all in one of the most beautiful locations you could ever imagine. While we made this a part of our larger Haute Route trek, you could easily do this as a quick day/night hike from Verbier. We will be back!

The cashier is very nice and if you’ll ask for a discount he will happily discount 100 chf from the bill there is no soap in the shower and and there is only one outlet on a 4 people room when you are sleeping with smelly strangers and you sleep boy and girls at the room and the bed is quite narrow

So disappointing under new management. Terrible food at premium prices. A salad at over 25CHF with one finger of cheese and one egg. Not even a piece of bred. The myrtille tart is awful; how sad when we remember the delicious one from the previous chef. The only positive is the view which the French aggressive lady managing the place did not manage to mess up.

One of the best hut I have ever stayed. Top service for the hut like clean sheets, hot shower, fruits for breakfast, great bakery. The waffles are special ! Thanks to the team of Sophie for hospitality and responsiveness. I stayed overnight 2 times and will come again.

This is a mountain restaurant that really deserves plaudits. I think the menu is the best in the 4 Valleys. From Fondue to a burger, soup, salad, spaghetti to amazing pastries if you want to stop for a coffee. They’ve nailed this menu and the staff are exceptionally nice and friendly.

The service was amazing and made our stay! The food was fixed but very good, and the rooms were warm, a bit tiny even for a hut but nice. Good clean showers and facilities. Main downside- highly and unreasonably expensive, and the price doesn’t include even one token for a shower that you have to buy separately… Other than that, beautiful

Our group of six had a wonderful, wonderful stay here. We took cable cars much of the way, then walked about an hour and a half. Gorgeous, gorgeous views all the way, still nothing prepared us for the beauty and novelty of staying at the cabane. Like being on top of the world!||Beautiful deck for food and drinks. Nice dining room for dinner an breakfast (we booked half board). Yummy, plentiful food. And friendly, kind owners and staff.||Bunk beds were clean and comfortable. Bathroom and shower facilities are new and spotless.||Enjoyed watching for marmots nearby. A great stay.
