Nara Chicken & Tonkatsu

First time dining in. I've had the fried chicken take out a few times prior and wasn't really a fan as it was quite dry. We were on a mission to try out the tonkatsu and this was a much better experience. Our cutlets were large, juicy and crispy, maybe lacking some seasoning though. The thinly sliced cabbage and dressing were awesome and complimented the pork perfectly. The tonkatsu and udon combo was enjoyable, my only criticism would be the soggy tempura batter in the broth plus it was a bit too sweet. I prefer a more savory broth but this was well flavored and boiling hot which is a must. The bulgogi was good as well. Overall portions, presentation and food quality are very good. I think the key is to eat in as the time to deliver and eat it at home, you lose that idea window.

The tonkatsu is really tender and I love the flavor. It’s not too salty or oily. For the price, I’d say it’s fair. We also ordered the bibimbap and the sauce is really good 😁 the chicken is crunchy and it pairs perfectly with rice (more rice😅). The lady who assisted us was super nice and very accommodating❤️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Came in here for lunch around 12-1pm with my friend, 2 of us got the curry katsu and the other got a chicken katsu. The lady at the front was very welcoming and nice, she quickly got us water and she was patient when we couldn’t decide what to order (mind you I wanted to order everything lol) after she got our order she gave us our side dishes which are the salad and kimchi, and they were delicious. Our orders came out fast, it was hot and fresh like pipping hot. The curry was so good and paired with the rice and katsu made it even more delicious. I think people should come try this out in person, the restaurant is like located in a hidden place and when we came in there wasn’t much people. Overall, I would give this a 5/5 with the service, food and decoration. I hope you guys enjoy this place the same way I did when I tried it, would definitely come back again.

Food was delicious 😊 We had the assorted tonkatsu (added curry sauce on the side), Nara variety fried chicken, and tteokbokki. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. Atmosphere is very calm and relaxing. Can’t wait to come back again 😊 Thank you so much.

After a trip to Japan, the craving for Tonkatsu has inspired a search of good Tonkatsu in Edmonton. Nara was a hit. The Pork sirloin Tonkatsu and Chicken katsu were nice and crispy. The meat inside was well seasoned and juicy. The included salad was spot on to salads in Japan. Nice little bonus was the kimchi for the rice. The server was friendly and great with excellent suggestions.

Nara Chicken and Tonkatsu is an unbelievable Korean restaurant in west Edmonton. They have a wonderful selection of traditional Korean food fare in a very humble restaurant space. The food is extremely generous and delicious. The presentation is very well done. And everything is modest in its delivery. The Tonkatsu is spectacular! The service is wonderful. Very kind and helpful. But they can get very busy here. And I've only ever seen two ladies working here so it can get a little backed up. The constant stream of food delivery folks that come in here is a testament to the quality of food. I can't say enough good things about Nara. 5 x 🍲🍲🍲🍲🍲

Every time I go here I always have a great experience. Highly recommend the bibimbap and the cheese tonkatsu. The curry in general is amazing, so even ordering a side of that on top of your meal is awesome. Portion sizes are good and the banchan are quite tasty.

Food is good. However, I’ve ordered here multiple times and they missed packing BOTH the katsu sauce and the salad sauce. I literally have to eat the food with ketchup RUINING THE WHOLE EXPERIENCE, while also having to wait 30 mins for my uber order to come to be extremely disappointed. What’s the point of getting this food without having the sauce?
